Two of us ordered bowls of corn and crab chowder and a calamari appetizer to share as entrees. One filet and lobster, one brussel sprout salad with salmon, one fish and chips, one ahi entree. Food arrived fairly quickly. Chowder was good, lots of lump crab on top and I'd order again but it didn't taste homemade, more food service. Calamari had great crunch and was fairly flavorful. Some pieces perfect, some chewy. Fried peppers with the dish were awesome. Brussel salad was huge, he said it was good. Fish and chips devoured without a complaint. Filet and lobster, priced right at $48 and the tail was huge. My husband said it was cooked right but tasteless. Filet ordered medium, grilled nicely on the outside but the inside was blue. I wouldn't have even called it rare. It was raw. He only ate the edges, didn't want to wait for another to be fired. Said it was seasoned to his liking and if it would have been cooked, it'd have been perfect. Ahi must not have been that good, she tried giving most of it away. Up until this point the service was good. When he found out we had a gift card he became rude and elusive. The quality of food was good and I feel price points lower than expected for portion size. $200 for six, non-alcoholic drinks all around. When in the Deptford area I'd definitely dine with Bonefish again.

Waitress lady comes out to deliver the new piece of food with a big ol smile (thought nothing of it at the moment) and sets it on the table, I'm good now. I take a second look at it and am about to dig in and you've gotta be kidding me. BOOM! There is no mistaking this. I was flabbergasted. Blown away, AIN'T NO WAY THIS IS REAL LIFE! I'm a fun guy, I can take jokes. (the longer I sat looking at it the more disrespectful it came to be) Eli our waiter, comes to check in, I say it's all good and I tilt the plate towards him to show him and ask "is this usual for you guys to do?" Dude busts out laughing and disingenuously apologizes and tries to cover it up like it was a genuine mistake.... The only disappointment was the beverage pricing. I'll admit that we typically don't study the menu prices before ordering--that was probably our mistake. After eating in restaurants for more than 70 years, however, I can honestly say these beverage prices are among the most outrageous I've encountered. We were charged $3.99 for a single cup of black coffee and $5.99 for one glass of lemonade--nearly $10 for two beverages. The coffee was simply one ordinary cup of black coffee, and the lemonade was so incredibly sweet that it was almost undrinkable. Neither beverage came close to justifying its price. It's unfortunate because everything else was excellent. The quality of the food, the atmosphere, and Benjamin's exceptional service make Silver Diner a place we would gladly visit again. However, management should seriously reconsider charging nearly $10 for one standard cup of coffee and one mediocre glass of lemonade. Prices like that leave customers feeling taken advantage of and detract from what is otherwise a terrific dining experience.
