Picked Bonefish Grill on a Thursday night for two reasons. One, location. Two, we had a $50 gift card. Six diners. The complimentary bread and pesto like oil they serve is wonderful. Two of us ordered bowls of corn and crab chowder and a calamari appetizer to share as entrees. One filet and lobster, one brussel sprout salad with salmon, one fish and chips, one ahi entree. Food arrived fairly quickly. Chowder was good, lots of lump crab on top and I'd order again but it didn't taste homemade, more food service. Calamari had great crunch and was fairly flavorful. Some pieces perfect, some chewy. Fried peppers with the dish were awesome. Brussel salad was huge, he said it was good. Fish and chips devoured without a complaint. Filet and lobster, priced right at $48 and the tail was huge. My husband said it was cooked right but tasteless. Filet ordered medium, grilled nicely on the outside but the inside was blue. I wouldn't have even called it rare. It was raw. He only ate the edges, didn't want to wait for another to be fired. Said it was seasoned to his liking and if it would have been cooked, it'd have been perfect. Ahi must not have been that good, she tried giving most of it away. Up until this point the service was good. When he found out we had a gift card he became rude and elusive. The quality of food was good and I feel price points lower than expected for portion size. $200 for six, non-alcoholic drinks all around. Went back to bonefish after a long hiatus. They stopped some of the specials that were drawing us in and we like to sit in the bar which is often very crowded. The first thing I noticed was the prices on the menu shot up. Nothing surprising in this current day. The service was very good as service there has always been. First disappointment was the sour dough bread. It used to have a crispy outside and soft inside but it barely had a crust. Unfortunately it was devoid of flavor. My wife had the coconut shrimp special which was very good. She chose broccoli as a side and it was cooked to perfection. She enjoyed the house wine at the happy hour price which is only one dollar off. I always enjoyed the shrimp tacos but I'm Not a fan of bang bang shrimp. In the past I asked for them to substitute grilled shrimp and I paid an up charge but the waiter told me he could not do this. He offered sautéd shrimp as an alternative and I agreed. They put the sauce on the side. I believe they used to put a mango salsa topping but this was not available. The tacos were good but not favor full as in the past. Slightly disappointing. For dessert we had the pineapple topped cheesecake. We chose to have the pineapple and sauce on the side. The cheesecake itself was a generous portion and was extremely good. Very rare that I will ever leave a negative review, however, the bonefish Grill located in Willow Grove is very disappointing. Since I was going there on a Friday night and it was my mom's birthday celebration, I thought it best to call ahead to make a reservation. They basically served our drinks, bread, or appetizers, and entrées, literally almost one on top of each other. Our waiter was very close to being down right nasty. It's really sad because it's a great location and I've been to a number of Bonefish grills and they're usually phenomenal. My husband and I came for a belated valentines dinner and our food was delicious. This place is really quick and service is really attentive. We split the bang bang shrimp appetizer (great tang, perfectly cooked). My husband got the mahi and shrimp which looked delicious. I got the cedar plank salmon: the cherry combination just works so well. The sides are good But today the show stopper was my drink! We ordered take out and it was the worst ever. The calamari was so sparse and deep fried that it disappeared inside the coating. It had to be the smallest rings we'd ever seen. This is a chain restaurant it shares a building with Outback. I believe they are the same business. Bonefish is a little more formal then say an Outback or Olive Garden, but not fine dining. I realize not every restaurant is designed to give vegans a variety of options. But at this location, they've actually regressed a bit, including one particularly disappointing visit. A little over a year ago, I called ahead and the manager claimed the chef could make up a simple vegan pasta dish. The pasta dish was decent enough, and my wife loves the salmon here. I returned another time or two and made the same request. Waitstaff was generally helpful, but a bit baffled and they claimed they'd have to check in with the chef. But in the end they made something up and it was fine. Went back yet again, and this time they claimed the chef was "too busy" to figure out a vegan dish to make. We had to get up and leave. It was indeed busy, but why not have a simple go to "vegan pasta dish"? It doesn't have to be anything extravagant; the difference between "no vegan options" and "one vegan option" is a night and day difference. It's management's prerogative how they want to run their business, but I'm going to suggest that having one vegan dish on hand would not be that onerous, and would be well-appreciated. read more

I like bonefish. They send me drink deals whenever they have a new seasonal cocktail, mostly martinis. I like the atmosphere on the side that has the bar and high tops. My daughters were complaining that they wanted canes so didn't think much of it and we brought it into the restaurant. He said " I notice you brought outsides food & obviously from canes so we don't allow outside food in my restaurant it's a policy" he was very rude! He did let my girls continue eating. I would have apologized if he was nice but this man was extremely rude. I ask my waiter who the man was I thought it may have been a manager. When he tells me he's the owner I was in complete shock. Bonefish Grill in Deptford, NJ has been my go to Birthday dinner for close to 20yrs. Was always fresh and wonderful, was my favorite seafood restaurant. I'm sad to say I'm never going back. The quality of the food has gone down to gas station quality. Usually order the same thing every time. The mussels were soft and fishy, just gross. Sent them back and got fried calamari, have you ever seen a calamari ring the size of a PENNY. I'm not even sure there was any calamari under the fry. At this point we thought all of it was a joke. Then came my fresh fish of the day entree. Supposed to have been butter fish in a lemon butter sauce with crab meat. The fish was very smelly and old, the crab (if it was crab) tasted like blue cheese crumbles. Blue cheese and stinky feet is what it tasted like. Too embarrassed to send another thing back. We bagged it, threw it in the trash on the way to the car. I wont tell ya about my friends shrimp and scallop. The scallops were the size of a DIME, the shrimp was sad too. We would have been better off at Red Lobster or any where else. To go from close to top of the line food to gas station quality is crazy. Im shocked and sad by my experience. Yes, it is a chain restaurant. Sadly, there is no unique character to this location versus any other BONEFISH GRILL location. In fact, if you have gone to Bonefish Grills over the year it is a worn look that doesn't convey the sea nor going for a seafood dinner (Am, I missing something or did they take away a little of the seafood charm when they eliminated the various fish choices of the day?). So, all that being said you wonder where does this 4 star review come from ... JUSTIN. Our waiter who provided exceedingly top notch caring but non intrusive service throughout the meal. He was clearly happy to be working at Bonefish and regardless of the rest of his day he wanted us to have the best possible BONEFISH grill experience. He succeeded. So, the menu is the same Bonefish menu that you'd find at Bonefish Timbuktu. Well, not sure if there is a Bonefish Grill there but I bet there is one. The bisque was smooooooooooooooth and yummmmmmmmy! Served at the right temperature and it was a great start to the meal. Our entrees also exceeded chair expectations but again I have in the back of my mind a question as to whether the chefs at chain restaurants where the exact directives are sent from some office in the sky wished that the powers that be would allow them to create one or two or three daily specials all their own using the supplies that chain offered to them. What a difference that would make ... the Deptford Bonefish would have a trout dinner that the Philly one didn't offer but in Philly check out the Mussels. We've eaten here multiple times and every time it's been good. The restaurant is clean and has a nice low lit romantic feel, there's a nice bar to hang out at if that's your pleasure. I recommend the bang bang shrimp which is a spicy appetizer, it's their go to app and well known. The service is usually pretty quick even when it's packed and food comes out at a respectable time.
