I was out jogging and wanted a place to sit outside and eat, being Covid times my choices were limited. I looked at menus from Italian food places along Broadway corridor, this place had the best prices; other pizza places wanted $19.00 for pasta this place was $11.00. service was great, the side salad was plentiful, tasted good and came with ample amount of dressing, the garlic bread was tasty. Unfortunately the main course wasn't very flavorful. I had eggplant parmigiana with marinara sauce. My friend had pasta with a meatball and marinara sauce. There was plenty of food unfortunately it was bland. If you're hungry and looking for a cheap meal this place will feed you. The egg plant and pasta wasn't awful it just didn't satisfy my taste buds. While writing this I realize the pasta wasn't any worse than you'd get from a diner and at the same price. This is a pizza place not an Italian restaurant. So for the price it's good. Next time I'll try their pizza with a salad. read more

4:58! That's what time I placed my order, received my order at 5:25. Great, right? Except I was missing my meatball I ordered on the side to go with my spaghetti & the free slice of cheesecake with an order if $40.00 or more (my order $58.00). So I called and was told it would be 45 minutes to get the missing items, whatever! Then......the mgr (gabby) calls me back 30 minutes later and says there was confusion etc. and she's sorry but it would be 45 min. until I can get my items, no bueno I say. I order the same thing everytime! Then she's like we have a new cook, he thought the meatball was for the pizza, well there's NO meatballs on the pizza either. Then she even says I understand if we lose your business! Like whatever.... I mean its Monday! Not Friday, Saturday or Superbowl Sunday....how busy can they be? I ended up here after being ignored at the first two brunch places that I tried to go to today. I ended up getting the Squisito pizza and I was definitely not disappointed. I got a small and filling pizza and a drink for $20. The pretty young lady that served me was very nice and pleasant and brought out some water for my dog, which I definitely appreciated. I think I have FINALLY found a really good local pizza place, and it was right under my nose this whole time. Who knew? Long Beach Pizza Co. is right around the corner from me. I have been here a few times... 1st time - Pesto Pizza. Whaaa? oh yesto pesto. It was good. 2nd time - Toasted Sausage Sandwich. Crunchy and saucy gooey goodness. During our day of bar exploring Sir Nicholas and I needed to stop for food. Since we were basically hitting up all the spots on Broadway we crossed paths with this pizza place and upon seeing a salad bar I immediately went in. I don't really know why I'm such a sucker for a salad bar, but I am so of course I had to get one here. I was kind of disappointed that you only get a small plate and can only go up once, but rules are rules. I think they should offer various sizes including an all you can eat for differing prices. It would make me happy anyway. Besides salad I also ordered a pepperoni pizza and it was a decent thick-crust pie. Nothing ground breaking, but not too bad at all. Also, I had been drinking weird drinks all day and when I asked if they had red wine and Fanta so I could make a Tinto de Verano they said they did indeed. I had to buy a 2-liter of Fanta and only ended up using about a cup of it, but it was worth it for me, and a pleasant surprise that it was an available option. read more

Came here with my knitting buds before a meeting at nearby Sasha's. Several other people had been there before but it was my first time and I have to say I liked it. I had their small meatball sandwich with a side of onion rings and I think it was one of the best meatball sandwiches I've had. The bread was all soft and crusty with a generous helping of sauce, meatballs and cheese--utterly delish! The onion rings were pretty darn good too, with a nice crumby crunchy coating. As I tried to order from 2 other places and were very frusterated by their phone skillz to take my order..... I hung up and yelped this place. Some of the reviews are all over the place, but I decided to give it a try. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised! A medium pizza was $12.60 and it was delivered very promptly by a smiley delivery man. Not often that you get someone that is just a happy delivery person! I ordered a canadian bacon with garlic and it was good, decent pizza. Nothing crazy over the top - but it'll do while unpacking and just needing something to tide me over. I've eaten here a few times over the past year or so. Their Pizza Alfredo is pretty good. But tonight's experience left me somewhere between beyond underwhelmed and downright disgusted. I'll not be returning. I ordered the avocado and cheese sandwich on white bread. This sandwich, according to the menu, comes with lettuce, tomato, pickles and mayo. Notice there is no mention of marinara in that description. This will become important in a few scant seconds. I still have no idea what on earth they brought me (it was on wheat bread, which I hate, and it had marinara sauce on it, which I hate.) I sat there at first, looking at it, and picking at it trying to figure out what was in it. I was honestly trying to figure out if I somehow misunderstood what was actually described on the menu. After about 2 minutes of staring/picking at what I initially thought was my sandwich on account of it having been delivered into my hands, I came to the conclusion that they done goofed, and so I gave them a call. If it hadn't contained two ingredients that I can't stand I might have taken the opportunity to try something new, but since one of the primary points of ordering out is to get something you are going to actually enjoy, I shouldn't have to compromise to eat something I know will be the exact opposite for me. Look, stuff happens. I get it. I don't care about the mistake, though. I care about whether it is going to be fixed. I'll bet, gentle reader, that you can guess this mistake was not fixed. You = smrt. I explained what happened to the girl on the phone, and tried to make light of it. After a pregnant pause, during which I am guessing she was processing what I told her, she confirmed that I was reporting that I had gotten the wrong item. An acknowledgement/apology would have been nice, but I can still appreciate direct if it means getting to the bottom of what's what. So, I confirmed that yes, the wrong item was delivered. She then proceeds to tell me not to touch it, and she'll get a new one made up and out to me. Let that sink in: she wanted me not to touch the sandwich. The one that was delivered to me. I'm speechless for a moment. Now it's my turn to process, and what I process is roughly along these lines: "Okay, she's going to fix it but apparently this is contingent upon me not touching what was delivered. Unfortunately, I've already touched it because I was stupidly operating under the assumption that what was brought to me was what I actually ordered, and I continued to touch it in an attempt to confirm whether my initial suspicions were correct and to possibly ascertain that if they indeed were, was what was brought to me in fact palatable. I kind of had to touch it to do that." So, around this point, I interrupt my inner dialogue to inform her that that ship has already sailed, but my mind is continuing to process the next logical conclusion from her bizarre request: "And why wouldn't she want me to touch it? It's not like she's going to be able to serve it OH GOD DOES SHE REALLY WANT THIS SANDWICH BACK SO THAT WHEN THE PERSON IT BELONGS TO FIGURES OUT THEY GOT THE WRONG THING SHE CAN JUST HAVE THE DRIVER SWITCH THEM OUT? BECAUSE I'M SURE THAT WHOEVER GOT MY SANDWICH ALSO TOUCHED IT FOR THE SAME REASONS I TOUCHED THEIR FOOD AND OBVIOUSLY I NOW HAVE TO WONDER HOW MANY OTHER PAWED-THROUGH ORDERS HAVE I GOTTEN FROM THEM?!" I'm not saying that my rant above is what would have definitely happened, but I personally can't really conceive of any other reason I should be told not to touch the food in this scenario. I just sighed at this point and told her to forget it. I actually hung up on her as she was still talking because I was disgusted enough at the implications that I literally want nothing more to do with them after this review. So, to be fair, I will say that she did technically offer to "fix" it for me, and that I am the one who hung up on her (not "slam the phone down in anger" hung up, but "there is literally nothing that can be said to fix this so I am done with this conversation" hung up.) Good pizza- terrible service. Be prepared to wait...and be ignored. Unless you come when no one is there, then you just wait. But, if you can get past that, the pizza is very good. It is oily or juicy as some gave reported but I personally like that. The place is small, but never packed. Has a bar and several monitors up for games being played. Can I get a refund! That was the worse meal I've had in a long time. Delivery process was easy, online. Came within reasonable time. Ordered a mini pepperoni pizza and wings, usually can't go wrong. How can you mess it up? Pizza was soggy and super doughy. Too much cheese and super oily. Wings were scrawny and over cooked, sauce was oily, over spices and in general bad. If Yelp gave the capability to give an extra half star, then this review is 4.5 stars! The pizza is amazing! The crust is perfect, not too hard, not too doughy. We had the Squisto pizza which included mozzarella cheese, sun dried tomato, minced garlic, and feta cheese. My girlfriend put the order in on the phone and the pizza showed up 20 minutes later...on a Saturday night! It must have been busy that night because the guy that took the order didn't ask her if we were going to pay with credit card or cash. The driver showed up and we bring out a card. He asked if we paid already and we said no, because the guy just hung up on us. Anyways, he calls the restaurant on his phone and talked to a lady over there who took her credit card number down. She apologized and the delivery guy apologized, insisted that we pay with credit card, because that's what we originally wanted to pay with. You're probably reading this and wondering, what's the big deal? Well, one, the driver wasn't an asshole and demanded we pay with cash, he actually called from his own phone to ask if we could pay with credit. Two, the driver already knew that it was their mistake, didn't assume that we wrong. Three, the lady on the other phone was more than helpful and apologetic. Went this weekend because we had a mad craving for some pizza. Unfortunately, our preferred place that we wanted to try was Alondra Wings, the BF was certain I'd like their pizza, but because it was Labor Day they were closed. (Crumbs!) So he suggested we try Long Beach Pizza Co., we were thrilled and our famished stomachs ecstatic when we saw customers inside as we drove by. The lunch specials compelled us to order a cheeseburger (wth@? I know, i know) and we also ordered a medium two topping pizza. Our hunger also drove us to order some chile cheese fries for an appetizer, no clue what we were thinking but we did it anyway. The chile cheese fries were HOT as HELL. But that didn't stop us from eating them anyway. Does that EVER stop anyone from eating anything??? LOL. The cheese was melty, and gooey and tasted great on the chile. It wasn't SPICY by any means, which is not TRUE chile to me, but it did have a lot of flavor. The fries were awesome and it brought me back to those little league years when I used to LOVE going to watch all my best boy buds play baseball in the summer and munch on the BEST probably made from frozen cheese fries. The cheeseburger was GREAT. Who would have thought?! The bun was a soft sesame bun and the patty was thin and juicy. The pickles were sour and I even liked the special thousand island or whatever it is sauce they put on it. The onion rings were just okay. They had that thick corn meal batter on it. I prefer the thin, crispy batter, not the thick stuff. The pizza was just okay. It wasn't spectacular so I'm not sure I'll put Long Beach Pizza Company on the top of my list for PIZZA visits, but the chile cheese fries and burgers were actually awesome. I liked the setting, it's similar to BJ's, clean, tables set up, salad bar. Sort of a sports bar type of place. I liked that the menu did have a lot of variety, sandwich options, even pasta. For the price, I think this place is a great deal. My boyfriend eats Dominos pizza every once in awhile and obviously, that's just gross. But Long Beach Pizza has the same prices and better quality food. The staff has always been friendly for my pick up order and the restaurant seems spacious with some booze options. No service what so ever, the two "servers" that were working just chatted with each other the whole time I was there about work drama including customers and the owner and other drama also kept cursing the whole time I sat at the bar, that's happen extremely unprofessional. Sadly never got to try what looked like a good pizza. Placed an order online for a pizza, order of mozzarella sticks, onion rings and 2 orders of wings. Set a delivery time of 610 pm and received a confirmation email with all the specifics exactly as requested. This was the end of the positive experience! The pizza showed up at 520 pm a full 40 minutes before I got home. There were 2 orders of rings and only one of wings to make things worse. Proceeded to call to inquire about the mix up in the wings/rings and was told they would charge a $1 delivery fee to bring the missing wings. The lady on the phone was rude and eventually offered to waive the delivery fee but that was the best she could do. That's the best after delivering the wrong order so early that it was sure to be cold by the time I got home to eat it? Opted to get my money back and return the food. This is a really nice little neighborhood place to eat, and the food is amazing. There are major problems though which is why I gave it 2 stars: 1. The waiters came over 7 times to ask us if we were ready every couple of minutes not giving us any time to look over the menu. SO ANNOYING AND NOT PROFESSIONAL. 2. The waitresses threw our plates and utensils down as our food was arriving. RUDE. 3. The waitresses were so busy serving their friends and talking amongst themselves that they not only forgot to check up on our table but all the others. Do I have to be friends with the servers to get descent service ??? 4. It took us 30 minutes to flag down the waitress to get our food in a box and to get the check. I know it's not New York, but seriously, this was the worst pizza I have had in years. Overcooked, dry, bland. I had a bad experience a year ago with a truly God-awful "steak" and cheese (think fried cardboard, not even real meat), but we were hungry and this place is nearby...anyway, If you want a real steak and cheese, try Philly's Best by the Traffic Circle. I also had some terrible lasagne...just awful. Sadly, I'm giving up on Long Beach pizza. Frankly, I've had better food in airports, or from the freezer section. We have had ongoing problems with delivery people screaming from the front of the house rather than bothering to walk around and use the doorbell. We live in a quiet neighborhood where such things make the neighbors quite unhappy. Tonight the bellowing was horrid to the point of beyond unacceptable. My husband asked the delivery person why he hadnt just called. The man then claimed he had yet none of our numbers, which all register incoming phone numbers and missed calls, showed any attempt at contact. So I called the restaurant to have the problem fixed. Lindsey, the person who claimed to be in charge was uninterested in fixing or even discussing the problem. Instead she felt ringing phones were more important than someone whose money they already had. This absymal customer service coupled with lackluster food makes this place a poor choice. So last night a friend and I headed out to go to EJ's. Since it was 8:00 on a Friday there was not a table to be had in the restaurant and as inviting as the patio looked with the fire I wasn't dressed in my winter gear so we decided to try somewhere else. Right across the street from EJ's is The Long Beach Pizza Company. A place I have driven/walked by for years but only tried once a long time ago. So we decided to give it a try. Now if you hadn't already peeked at the rating you would probably think this story would end with a raving review and some ramblings about a cold winter night and fate, yada, yada. The evening really had the makings of a great story....but unfortunately it just ended up being a bit average... I'll start with the good.... Pizza was great. Salad Bar had great Ranch dressing (always a good way to score points with me) and the atmosphere was also nice. My friend had the turkey burger and liked it said she would get one again and asked if they delivered which is a good sign. Unfortunately the service was a bit of a disappointment. If you read more of my reviews to come you'll find out that a few of my pet peeves that will really ruin a great dining experience for me are 1) Food not coming out at the same time. 2) The slurping of ice sound because your waiter/waitress has not come by to refill your drink in 20 minutes and 3) Having to ask for your check with a table full of dirty dishes sitting in front of you. All of the above happened last night which is why I had to give just a middle of the road rating.... Now I see that most of the other reivews are great and in the spirit of full disclosure they did have one table of 12 while we were there. I would likely give the place a try again on another night when EJ's is full and I would definitely consider ordering delivery since the only one to blame if I don't get a refill would be lazy self. =) read more
