Nick answered my call quickly on a Sunday Afternoon when a key broke off inside a doorknob on a storage room I needed to get into. He arrived within an hour and was able to extract the key, re-key the lock (including having the regular key and a master key work). Was able to make a new duplicate key on the spot and put everything back together. Price was reasonable for a weekend emergency call out, and for the amount of time and care that Nick spent diagnosing the problem and fixing/re-keying the lock. I've been meaning to leave this review for a few years now. Shame on my tardiness. Nick is a rad dude. A few years ago, I went for a drunken walk and lost my house key in the process. I called Long Beach Locksmith, and by the time I got back home Nick was waiting for me. Talk about prompt service! He was super funny and personable. He did the job quickly, smoothly, and for a great price. I also noticed that he has a certain tattoo of a certain unofficial club to which I am also a member; people in the know understand the amount of bravery involved in being part of that club, so I have deep respect and honor for him because of that. I know that's vague--but IYKYK. Flash forward to years later (a week ago) when now-California sober me lost the key to my back gate. I've used them twice to open a bathroom that kept getting locked, and also to change out the door hardware. Nick, the owner, is super nice and very fair. I have had some really bad experiences with other lock smiths that have charged me $350+ for opening a single door, or $800 for rekeying two doors. LB Locksmith is not like that. Nick is amazing! He's so friendly, brilliant, and fast, and he was able to re-key 9 of our locks to all work with a new master key. Super helpful, because our house previously had 6 different keys. He also created a secondary key that only opens the outdoor gates but not the house doors. The master keys can still open those gates plus the doors. I didn't realize that was possible to do with existing locks before talking with Nick. I lost the single key to my condo about a year ago and have been using only the Nest x Yale deadbolt ever since. My partner finally got tired of not having a key, so I found Nick after a quick Yelp search. I chose him because he was nearby and had 5 stars, and now I see why. I called Nick up and was able to schedule a rekey for 2 days later. He was very friendly and super efficient. He created 2 keys beforehand and rekeyed the lock in a couple minutes while educating me about how my lock works. After the rekey, he noticed a problem with my deadbolt - it didn't come out all the way. He mentioned it was probably the reason why my smart lock sometimes warned me about not being able to close all the way. He volunteered to fix this problem too, which I was grateful for. This small business deserves praise and recognition. I called for a locksmith service because I had issues with my Yale x Nest smart lock. It kept rejecting the locking mechanism and alerted me the door was not locked. After chiseling down the strike plate, hollowing out the wood, and tightening the door screws, the machine now works fine. We did multiple testing, close to 50 times until I was satisfied with the work. I feel Nick charged me at a fair price. And he accepts mobile payments. read more
