MRCOOL never disputed the diagnosis. Their response was simply to deny coverage because the unit was self-installed. If a manufacturer won't stand behind a defective component and won't explain how an internal coil leak is related to installation, their warranty has very little value. Would not buy again.

We were enrolled in American Comfort Experts' annual maintenance subscription. When we noticed a…read morepersistent "dirty sock" smell in our home, we were told additional duct services were needed. This cost us an additional $870. However, during the duct cleaning service visit, the technician informed us that coil cleaning was not part of this additional service because it was supposed to be covered under our existing yearly maintenance plan. It became evident that the coil cleaning was never performed during any of the previous maintenance services. The duct cleaning technician called the technician who had previously performed our annual maintenance to visit our home and ask him about this. In front of my husband, the technician who performed our yearly maintenance acknowledged that the coils had never been cleaned during prior maintenance services because they were difficult for him to get to. You would think this would be mentioned to us instead of pretending to perform coil cleaning for several years. Because the coils weren't being cleaned, there was a dirty sock smell, which we thought would be resolved if the ducts were cleaned. Finding out that this smell would have been resolved if the coils were properly cleaned​ is frustrating because we would have never paid the $870 for the ducts to be cleaned if this were the case. We attempted to resolve this matter directly with the owner of American Comfort Experts, but they refused to give us any money back, despite not receiving services that we paid for (coil cleaning). Absolutely unfair and unprofessional. ****ADDENDUM: The company keeps replying to my reviews stating that they did clean the coils during the duct cleaning. This is a true statement. The yearly maintenance plan that I have paid for several years includes coil cleaning. I found out years later that the coils had NEVER been cleaned during the yearly maintenance... When we complained to the company that the coils had never been cleaned before, that is when they cleaned the coils. So we have been paying for a service for years that we were not receiving. They did not give us any money back and they continue to comment on reviews without addressing the actual complaint.

I had a hunch it was the capacitor with the way the compressor wasn't fully engaging. Tristan showed up at around 9pm (he gave a heads up prior that it would be late) which is fine. He had a replacement capacitor in the truck and just like that he was done in 10 minutes. I double checked to make sure cold air was blowing. My compressor is only 2 years old and so Tristan mentioned he should be able to get. It covered under warranty and credit me back the difference. Super nice guy and from my first impression honest in wanting to make sure I was good. If anything else should come up he'll be first on my list. Thank you for taking care of us

Got HVAC Heroes to replace my existing HVAC system with a new one…read morein September 2023. HVAC Heroes had both air conditioning and heating replaced. They had a contract for 2 years of labor service In October when the temperatures started to fall, my heater was not working and did not warm up the house. The technician came in and replaced the zoning system and charged me an additional large amount. Even after that, the heater is not working. I have tried to follow up with their technician and their office to help get someone to come and fix the issue. I am not getting any response or help to resolve the issue I would give -1 rating to them if possible. With faulty installation from the beginning and not helping to fix or resolve the issue, it has been a nightmare to deal with this vendor.

I go into the attic after and immediately hear air leaking heavily and find in coming from the coil box along with water literally POURING from the coil box, down through the box below, down all the wiring next to the circuit board and pooling in the bottom!!! Advised him of low air volume and low temperature in the house no matching thermostat. He charged $165.00 for this "inspection" and let everything else observed just simply go on!
