I asked them to check my rental property A/C that was not work properly. They stopped by and told me the coil has a leak and nor repairable and they asked for $3,400 to replace it. When I asked about the part number they said we don't know and also they refused to provide labor and materials break down. At the end they charged me $275 for Nothing. I hired another company and after inspection they said the outside condenser was dirty and they clean and serviced the AC and replaced the filter for $190. Good customer service seems very rare these days, but Polar Express knows what they are doing. I requested a full replacement of my 90's dual compressor, single air handler setup with a dual stage 5 ton Ruud. The crew arrived on time and were very organized. They began working at 9am, took no breaks and wrapped up at 3:30pm. It was a big job and they took no shortcuts. When it came time to pay, the bill was lower than what I was quoted! It was very easy to integrate the EcoNet thermostat with Home Assistant to monitor the system. This new system is far better than a standard dual stage because it can adjust the compressor, blower motor & outdoor condenser fan motor speeds based upon the cooling demand. We have had our AC and Heating done by Polar express and have been very pleased with their services. They are always honest with quotes and if you need a repair done but its not too too bad they will tell you, maybe next year or soon we should do this.. but they are never pushy about sales and will communicate with you all the repairs. If you call and they don't answer, just leave a message or text the number and they will for sure return your call or text. They get very busy in the summer so if you need maintenance I would for sure schedule that before it gets too hot and they get really busy! read more

I have been a customer for almost 8 years but they lost me. I had them out to inspect my unit every year. My ac is 22 years old. It stopped cooling last week. When the technician came out he said it needed a new fan motor for $550. He replaced and went on his way. When the house had not start to cool 2 hours later I texted him and he said that it can take some time and to give it another 2 hours. At that time I texted and he came back out. It had now been 5 hours. He admitted that he forgot to check the refrigerant and found multiple leaks in the attic. While he was here the compressor over heated as well. He gave me a new repair cost of $3,400 and for such an old unit I thought this was crazy to pay for a repair and should replace. I tried to talk to the owner Ben because he has always been amazing but I guess Ben is no longer with the company. All I wanted to do was talk to the owner so we could figure out to repair or replace. I had questions with such a large purchase. Since they were not willing to talk to me about the issue I went with another company. I then asked if I could return the fan motor since I purchased a new unit. As a substitute teacher that is an entire week's pay for me. read more

For started the unit was not even installed correctly. The black power box was supposed to be put in the upstairs activate, but was mounted on the outside unit. They are refusing our calls and emails. The system has not properly flushed and will now cost $2200 for the repair. I do not trust them to do the repair period. Completely rude customer service and show up 45minutes -1hour late outside the 2 hour window provided. I have had to take off work 3 days now to deal with the incompetence. Have a 10 year parts a labor with this company and they blocked my number for repairs. They have had to weld in two different areas and still have leaks on a brand new unit. The unit has become extremely loud since installation and they are blaming the issues on vibration even though I keep the temps 78/80 during the day. They are simply putting a bandaid on a major issue. They did not bother to check the inside until as they already knew the outside unit was the issue. It has been welded in multiple areas now on a brand new unit only a year and 1/2 old. The owner has yelled at me on the phone & hung up on me multiple times now and will not address manufacturing issues. I tried to screen shot readings of the unit but was denied. We have asked for invoices 3+ times now and it still has not been provided. The manufacturer blames them, they blame the manufacturer and has become finger pointing at this point. It took 9 hours for a proper cool down on the hottest day of the year after a second Freon dump. I would not recommend!!! Was a criminal installation. read more

Corey called prior to arriving and showed up as planned. I told him of my issues and that earlier this year I had an issue and when they couldn't schedule me in I had to use another technician. He was cool about it and did a check of the whole system. He found out that the previous tech did repair my unit as told, but the seasonal service was not up to their standards. He then proceeded to complete the service to their standards and provided me a checklist of things of concern that I should plan to replace in the future. He did all of this without charging me anything! Such a professional and extremely respectful and courteous. I want to say this is an amazing company. We were out of town for a few days and came home to find our house at 93°. I left a message and they called back and told me there was a $75 service fee for the weekend Sunday and I didn't care, the gentleman came out was so very polite and fixed the unit and told us it would be a little bit before the house would cool down. I have used Polar Express for more than five years. They have installed two new units on my house over the last couple of years. Recently, I started having multiple problems on one of the units they installed. They have been out three times since March to replace parts. These guys rock! Three weeks ago my ac died and my home warranty company assigned a total of 4 companies to try to get this fixed. For one reason or another, things went south. My boss said I should call Ben & Cory at Polar Express - that they would get this remedied and most likely for less money than home warranty folks. She was right! The 4th company's technician sent by my home warranty decided that the damage was caused by my dogs and subsequently the claim was denied. They wanted a lot of money to replace the whole system. I called Ben for a second opinion He came right out that afternoon, made his assessment and put enough freon in to keep us comfortable while we prepared to purchase a new ac unit. That new unit was installed tonight and with temps close to 100 this week and humidity to match, ac is as essential as water in Houston summers. Bruce was our technician today and he patiently answered questions from both me and an inquisitive neighbor while he worked diligently to install our new unit. In addition to the installation of new unit, these guys were willing to relocate said unit to the neighbor facing side of my home, allowing us to have an unobstructed backyard space off the patio. I called Ben ( Owner of Polar Express ) back in early June as my AC system was not cooling properly and after checking he found it was about 2lbs low on Freon so he charged it and made a pretty quick accurate diagnosis of the issue but said he was so busy he just wanted to get it going and keep us comfortable until he had time to check for a leak and he did that in fact and left without charging me, I was like WHAT !!!! That is so unheard of today with all the money driven companies that always have you reaching for your wallet. Fast forward 6 weeks in the heat of summer the AC was again low on Freon so Ben to the rescue again and said he was super busy getting 200+ calls a day that him and his other two techs run, this time he went into the attic to verify his initial diagnosis and said the evap coil had a slow leak and replacement was needed and this unit was only 4 years old and was under warranty but after discussing the warranty coil option from the builder and seeing 3 of my neighbors have the same equipment and they went with the warranty coil but one of the 3 neighbors is already having issues and it's only been a few months so I discussed what was my best choice and Ben suggested a better made coil with a redesigned box and yes it was more but the warranty option would only be a 1 year warranty and the new design has a 10 year on parts and 2 years on labor so that's what I decided I was going with but before he left he again charged my system and left me with no bill so this was the second time of not charging me but we had a date to to the repair work but the second charge only lasted about 10 days so he came about again and charged it the 3rd time and put me on an expedited list for replacement but just like the first 2 times no charge. When Bens crew showed up today they were super fast and were in and out in about 2 hrs and then Ben came by to just check it all out and tell me about the warranty and service upkeep and my plan is to have him come by in the spring and do all my spring and fall service on my HVAC equip, being here in Katy Texas a furnace is not a critical as A/C So in closing I am hoping I have no other issues with the rest of the equipment that was not replaced but if I do Ben from Polar Express will get the business, this guy is the perfect business model of what customers need as he works tirelessly to put you as the customer his top priority read more

If you are in their service area...CALL THEM! Ben called me back within 30 minutes. Found a time he could come by and fix my AC issue the same day. Arrived early. Was informative, friendly to my dog, quick with the diagnosis, had the part in his truck and had my AC up and running in less than an hour. Certainly some repairs take longer. Mine was a sensor board that burned out. So the repair was quickly fixed. I was expecting the repair to run me about 2X as much, so I was VERY happy with his fees. I had been using another larger company for the last several years. As they got bigger and decided returning calls wasn't a top priority any longer I took Polar Express as a recommendation from a friend. In Houston your AC is as important as breathing - or BBQ or Whataburger. So having a company that will call you back and respond within a day - even on holidays and evenings - is paramount. Ben was extremely informative and helpful during a small moment of crisis. Furnace stopped working intermittently during the week temperatures dropped below freezing. Turns out our AC unit had a famously bad blower. Ben and Trey came over and gave me all of the information and options available, and did a phenomenal job replacing the bad blower with a warranty replacement. But prior to that Ben walked me through various troubleshooting steps over the phone. He was intent on doing everything possible to get our AC/Heater working even if it meant that we could get it working over the phone without him charging for showing up! Gave Polar Express a call after a negative experience with another A/C company. Got some great recommendations off of the NextDoor app and they all referred to Polar Express. Cory, the supervisor technician, was great. He was able to find and solve the problem of why my A/C wasn't working in a very short amount of time. He was very thorough and explained everything in a way that any layperson would be able to understand. He didn't overcharge, try to upsell a brand new HVAC system (like another previous company attempted) or tag on a bunch of crazy fees. I liked the fact that he was very open about explaining information about my coils, condenser, TXV valve and freon. I was able to make an informed decision and felt zero pressure because he wasn't trying to sell me stuff that I do not need. Suffice to say, my house is a chilly 69° degrees, low humidity and I'm pretty happy. I'll definitely use Polar Express in the future for any HVAC/air conditioning needs. Cory is very informative and honest about what needs to be done and unnecessary repair and since i asked for second opinion he actually charged me nothing but he did fixed the issue on second heating unit since i dont trust the contractor send by american warranty with their assessment trying to charge me an arm and a leg. I will cut my american warranty since they keep sending me 2.5 star rated contractor who supposed to fix problems but adding more issues to try to take more money from the customer. read more
