Loved the Ahi Street tacos, so fresh and full of flavor. The Manchego & Fig combo was the perfect mix of sweet and savory. The Grilled Rib Tips were tender with a nice smoky flavor, and the Paella was hearty and really hit the spot. The Papaya Quinoa added a lighter, refreshing touch, and the Empanadas were warm, flaky, and so good. For dessert we ended with Churro Vanilla Ice cream which was the perfect sweet finish. The girls and I came for a dinner date and were completely blown away. The ambiance? Chef's kiss. Beautiful decor, vibey lighting, and the perfect setting whether you're planning a romantic date night or a full on girls' yap session. Indoor and outdoor seating, you can't go wrong here. Since it was a warmer evening we opted to sit inside but outside had live music so no matter where you sit, you'll catch a vibe. And the hospitality did not go unnoticed. Shoutout to Cameron, our server, who was so lovely and super attentive all night. Really great service here and we were impressed with how quickly each dish came out. Service was definitely 5/5. For those of you who haven't been yet, the menu is tapas style (small bites to share) so you can try a little bit of everything...dangerous for someone like me who wants it ALL lmao. Here's what we ordered: Baja Ceviche - insanely fresh shrimp & mahi mahi with cucumber, jalapeño, onion, cilantro, and avocado. We kept going back for this one all night. 5/5. Lola's Chicken Empanadas - slightly softer texture than expected, but sooo flavorful and perfect for sharing. 4/5. Ahi Tostadas - fresh, bright, and balanced with just the right kick from the chipotle mayo. 5/5. Avocado Fries - the MVP. Crispy, addicting, and paired with sauces that we couldn't stop dipping into. I will order these EVERY time. 5/5. Brazilian Steak Skewers - perfectly marinated with chimichurri and a great savory balance to all the seafood. 4/5. And don't skip the cocktails....we ordered pomegranate mojito and a cucumber cooler. Both were a 5/5. Each drink was refreshing, gorgeous, and dangerously easy to drink. High five to the bartender because these drinks rocked. Safe to say, Lola's exceeded our expectations and already has us planning our next visit. My tips are 1. We celebrated a birthday here this Friday, and the staff was amazing. They definitely went above and beyond, especially our waiter, a young man with gauges, and the front staff member, a younger woman with tattoos. Huge shoutout to both of them. I did not get their names, but they were incredibly accommodating and allowed us to set up birthday props, which we really appreciated. The food was phenomenal. I highly recommend the Spanish paella. Grateful that this place was able to accept us as a walk-in considering it was a Sunday around lunch time and there was some sort of art festival nearby as well as a farmers market with vendors separately here as well. We originally were trying to go to RoadRunner, but they quoted us (5 adults and 3 kids) to be over an hour wait which we were not about. We were sat outside and overall service was prompt, but our server was a bit awkward/weird. Other employees who brought food or drinks were generally nice and welcoming though. I must say that I found everything here to be extremely overpriced. I ordered Ahi tacos and they really were a bit bland and I didn't enjoy them much. For $23 for small tacos, I was still hungry and expecting more flavor I tried someone else's tostada and liked it a bit more. Others at our table were left hungry afterwards as well. The overall consensus was very meh. I also feel like there was a food runner who consistently kept asking if we were done and if they could take away plates which got annoying because we were still working on our food. I'm just visiting La Quinta from the Bay Area. I was walking around the very charming La Quinta Old Town... it has to be the sweetest and friendliest place. I wandered into Lola's At The Cove. A very upscale ambience with small town friendly service! Apparently they are only 3 days old! Very interesting menu. I tried their pickled watermelon salad. I swear I've never tasted a salad this good... crunchy/ sweet/ fresh/ tart/ layers of taste ... with a kick. They have some other very interesting menu options too! They have a 21+ bar area and an attached dining area where kids are allowed. Super friendly people. Hope this place does well... we'll definitely be back the next time we travel here! read more

This wasn't fun and it cost almost $200 for two. They were out of several items but didn't tell us until we tried to order them-- my friend looked at the menu earlier and looked forward to having empanadas for her birthday dinner all day. They were out but didn't say so until we ordered. Tried to order wine-- they were out of my choice. It just kept happening. Tell people the 86 list up front! The worst part was being super rushed-- they dumped all our food, including desert, on the table at once. Our reservation was at 8pm and they're open till 10 so there was no reason to rush us the way they did. And then the dessert was literally defrosted grocery store mini eclairs. The food is overpriced considering it all came off the back of a Sysco truck. I literally buy those exact desserts at Costco. The food is not authentic Spanish--paella was an okay creamy seafood rice with no visible saffron; pickled watermelon was WAY too sour and too sweet, steak was flavorful but stringy and they didn't ask us for a temp, dessert was trash. Margarita was weak and mostly ice. The menu is all over the place; Spain, Brazil, Peru, Mexico. Why couldn't we just have a nice tapas spot doing real food? We were really excited about this spot opening up. I live here year round and love Spanish food, and I had really hoped old town was getting an actual hip, modern dining experience. Our hostess, Leanna, greeted my family with a warm smile and graciously seated us at a beautiful outdoor table close to our bikes, as we forgot to bring a bike lock. Our server, Leila, along with the rest of the staff, was attentive, kind, and genuinely present throughout our entire meal. They checked on us regularly without ever hovering, and it was refreshing to see a team that truly smiles, engages, and seems happy to take their time at your table. That kind of hospitality makes all the difference. The food did not disappoint -- everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. Fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Our picky toddler actually ate the chicken tenders, they were lightly breaded and not greasy. You can tell care goes into the menu.
