    Gazpacho
    Tyler T.

If you come during the weekday they have a menu of the day option that was a really good value at a great price. It came with a gazpacho, some fish, a creme brûlée, and a white wine. All of it tasted amazing! The gazpacho actually filled me up, and it was really good. It was a cold soup, but it tasted super fresh, like it was freshly blended tomatoes and other herbs and vegetables. It was also super refreshing because it was a hot day. The fish was very well cooked, and it kept the essence of a nice grilled fish, I could taste all the different parts of a fresh fish, without it being overly flavored or hindered by other tastes. Just a bit of salt to really bring it all out. The creme brûlée was also delicious and well made. Overall a great meal and a great value!

    Grilled octopus, definitely my fancy!

Loft del Born saved us while my friends and I were in Barcelona for Good Friday. Nearly every other restaurant or shop was closed, and we were searching and searching for a place to have some drinks and tapas. Fortunately, this place decided it was more important to feed the tourists than stay closed for the holiday. Hallelujah! We had a very nice dining experience considering we had limited options. The menu was filled with tapas options, and drinks were plentiful with well drinks and house cocktails available. Prices were higher than what you'd normally find at Spanish restaurants, but hey, we're in a tourist spot. A ton of tapas was ordered, with some of the highlights being the grilled octopus (definitely get this one!). the sun dried tomatoes, fried croquettes, and chorizo fries. They each came in servings for two, and is enough for a hearty sampling. The only item we would pass in the future was the seared tuna. It wasn't very impressive and we could have done without it. Drinks were on point as well, and I ended up going for my personal favorites such as some classic Old Fashions. The service here was very friendly, and cared enough to remind us to watch our bags in case of thieves that lurked around at night. Thanks Loft del Born for a great night out!

Got off the flight, walked around Barcelona, ate tapas as a late appetizer and now its dinner time. I know why this place is called Loft del Born. All the seat outside were taken so we were the only party eating in their loft. So Loft del Born was it. Decorated nicely. Very modern. Since everyone and everything was happening outside, it was a nice and quite dinner in the Loft. Dinning area to ourselves. I always try to order something unusual and different. Tonight was no exception. Ordered the calamari sandwich. Fried calamari on a black bun with sesame seeds. Very very unusual. Not sure why the black bun unless this is squid ink but not sure. It was okay. Just felt like a toasted bun with calamari in it. Nothing on the bun to give it the wow factor. Just okay. It came with a side of fries. With my calamari sandwich, I ordered the nachos. Pretty big portion. Cheese, sour cream, Pico de gallo, and jalapeños. This was really good. Not to spicy but really tasty. Fresh chips. Fresh ingredients. Made a really good nachos. We always saw the servers cause they were always running up and down the stairs. Kitchen was at the bottom of the stairs. We enjoyed our time relaxing. Taking our time. Enjoying our dinner. So if you get stuck in the Loft instead of eating outside. Enjoy the peace and quite. Almost like your own personal dinning room. We did.

The best tapa ever. Potato meatballs!

Sigh. Looking back and writing reviews on my trip to Barcelona makes me V nostalgic and V hungry. Loft Del Born was almost an accident for my boyfriend and I. We had walked down this street in order to go to another tapas restaurant right next door but they were on a wait, so we decided we just couldn't wait and instead went to Loft Del Born. And my oh my I am happy we did. Every single Tapas we had was divine. And the service was top notch. We got the potato meatballs, duck confit croquetes, tomato bread, amongst others. Also the house red wine was wonderful as was the cava. the prices were also quite nice. We sat outside in their covered patio and the head lamps were a plus. Sigh - i'm still dreaming about the potato meatballs! I will recommend that one tapa to anyone I know that has Barcelona on an upcoming trip.

    Cheeseburger bombas and nachos.

This isn't anything special but the food is good and the price isn't too bad. We went here after another restaurant I wanted to go to was closed. It was a beautiful night and I wanted to find somewhere outside for dinner. This fit the bill with no wait. The service was a bit slow but once we ordered the food came out fast. We had a couple tapas the bombas and the nachos. Both were food. My husband also had the cheese burger which was tasty but mainly tasted like bacon. Overall a good restaurant.

Really bad dining experience. I wouldn't go here again or recommend it to a friend. A lot went wrong during the same visit: overpriced bottled water (no tap water available), inattentive waiter, overcooked food, a large projection-screen TV with very loud blaring advertisements, slow to get bill, and the bill was inaccurate. Don't go here.

Octopus with potatoes, tomato bread, and sangria. So yummy.
    Courtney T.

We ordered the octopus and sangria upon asking for recommendations on our impromptu tapas crawl. The octopus and tomato bread were insanely delicious. The sangria was our favorite in Barcelona thus far.

Happen to find this place in the Born area -- nice place to hang for lunch. Warning -- nothing in this area is open for Monday lunch, so we were lucky this was open, since we were getting hungry. This modern place serves modern tapas that are more like appetizers. Foie gras was decent. Croquettes are creamy, warm, and served in a little fryer basket. Potato, bacon, and runny egg were delicious when warm, but don't let them cool down too long.

Great little place close to the Picasso museum. Tapas were wonderful. We had pan con tomate, nachos, chips, and octopus. Octopus was so tender, not chewy at all. Prices were very reasonable.

This was recommended by friends awhile back, I remembered the modern ambiance, amazing Tapas, friendly service and the place was as busy then until now. For this big restaurant caliber, it's pretty crowded yet they do a good job with a fast turnaround. We did the early Dinner and by the time we got out there was already a long line for late Diners. The fact that even after a decade, it's rare that I go back to the same spot let alone they're still around after all these years. You already know that tells a lot and I feel bad for those who didn't have the same great experience, hope they give it another shot. See y'all soon! Salut, Vermouth!

My son had been here last year and thought, it was a solid. We put our name in, went to a nearby park bench to wait and watch people for 50 minutes. The servers outside are grumpy as to many people are crowding the sidewalk and impeding his service. Finally, our name was called, were seated at the bar, and watched a chef make the magic dishes. The menu is huge and I can't help but watch the delicious dishes flying by us. So little time and yet so many great choices, this won't be easy. We began with the beef tenderloin montadito foie gras. It was presented as a open face sandwich on a bagette. We split it as it had a huge piece of foie gras. The tenderloin was tough and the tapas tasted like indivdual components, not a blended or refined profile. The grilled razor clams were nicely cooked, slightly gritty and needed to be washed more thoroughly. The Spanish omelet wedge was spiritual, dish of the night award. The onion made the dish! The sliced fried artichoke was finely shaved, and again lacked a enjoyable flavor that I would order again. The chips with fried eggs and Jabugo ham was different, tasty and a concept I would not of thought about. Delicious! Casveseria Catalanahe was packed and stacked for a reason. A high vibe and energy even in the face of a revolt at the check in desk from hungry dinners. I came say without hesitation, we will give them a second try. The staff was friendly, engaging, warm and a good sense of humor, nothing but smiles. I can't wait for our next trip to Cerveseria Catalana and let them tell me what to order. Good luck and see you sooner than later.

We were happy to enter the cozy La Alcoba Azul and seated by a smiling host immediately & presented with menus. The interior looks almost like a wine cellar with brick vaulted ceilings. The offerings are best described as fusion tapas but there are a few traditional bites as well. Our waiter presented us with an amuse bouché of pumpkin hummus topped with roasted pepitas on an herbed toasted baguette crisp. DELICIOUS! We confidently ordered the tomato tartare with avocado cream, basil, olive powder and rosemary olive oil caviar as well as a half order of cured Iberican meats featuring chorizo, loin, sausage and ham, an order of the hummus with black olives, parsley, pine nuts and pita triangles. All were terrific! We especially enjoyed the meats and tomato tartare. I enjoyed a red sangria that was satisfying and happened to be topped with cinnamon...a first and welcome addition for me. La Alcoba Azul is a spot we'll keep on our tapas go to list! You shouldn't hesitate to visit.

It is tight inside, and we were tucked into the back room, but in a cozy way. Service is slow in that classic European way, not sad slow, but the kind of slow that reminds you to savor the moment because you are on vacation. The menu descriptions were a little vague, so we took a few stabs in the dark. The eggplant dish we ordered ended up being my favorite, and the hummus with lamb was also very good. I usually love olives, but these did not hit for me. They were a bit too dry and firm, so buyer beware if you are picky about olives. All in all, a charming spot for a romantic vacation dinner.
