One of the most creative dining experiences I have ever had. Delicious food! The Lodger also has a great community driven mission.

I was craving something hearty and healthy so naturally, I went for the pearly bowl which originally comes with couscous, roasted cauliflower, golden raisins (trust me these add THEEEE touch), pickled red onions (YUM), tahini sauce, avocado, and a lemon-mint vinaigrette - THISSSSSS. I ended up substituting the couscous for quinoa which was perfect for the type of meal I wanted before traveling. Can we talk about that lemon-mint vinaigrette? It's perfectly green and brings the whole bowl together, SO GOOD. Wish I would've gotten a whole side of that. Ordering delivery through Yelp is so easy thanks to DoorDash and I was so thankful I didn't have to be stuck eating chips and m&ms - love these but I needed a little something more. Next time you're taking a flight from Newburgh airport be sure to get delivery from Ms Fairfax. Can't wait to try their crepes and green goddess wrap from their breakfast and lunch menu!

Street parking available, as well as a municipal lot around the corner. Near a historic site to check out as well, Washington Headquarters. Greeted as I walked in, asked if I had reservations (which I didn't), I was shown the tables available inside & was told I could sit in the back area as well. They also have a cute table in the front outside as well. I sat in the backyard while I waited for my friend to arrive. The establishment has a chill summer vibe. All the staff were friendly & attentive. The special was the red snapper & OMG, they need to just put it on the menu! It was delicious, fried to perfection & had alot of meat. I am not a hummus fan but the appetizer my friend orderd-the hummus was tasty.

Imagine a cool dive bar kind of like CBGB, but with amazing food! And let's talk about the food, the owner Dan is a trained chef. The menu is so vast and eclectic. It might take you a while to decide on what you want to eat. And if you're a vegetarian or a vegan, oh my God, the choices are so abundant, but everything is absolutely amazing! Best macaroni and cheese I've ever had and I had a vegan sausage and pepper hero with hand cut fries simply amazing! The staff are very friendly. The cocktails are amazing and they have a lot of live music. There really great place to hang out!

Newburgh, NY - we were directed to eat here by a friend after we visited nearby Motorcyclepedia…read more It's a popular local hangout, and the vibes immediately strike me as: if this were my neighborhood watering hole, I'd be a regular here. The decor alone earns a star: rock n roll ephemera covers every surface - walls, ceiling, shelves and display case - and takes me back to the days when I went to "shows" and not "concerts." There's even a small stage in the corner for live music, so that definitely checks out. Our friendly server Dianne hands us menus printed on newspaper, and I needed a moment to decide between the large selection of comfort food classics with creative variations on a theme - burgers, sandwiches, salads, mac & cheese, chilis & soups, burritos, wraps, fajitas, rice bowls, and specialty entrées - finally settling on some apps and a burger to share with my kiddo (which I'm told are good here), while our friend went for a steak bowl. There's a surprisingly large vegan and vegetarian section. Surprising because I haven't come across many veggie-forward pubs that offer anything more than a perfunctory Beyond Burger/black bean burger and an anemic salad. Here, they actually respect the non-carnivore's right to have some decent choices. The "hot" wings are alright and not really hot (though admittedly my spice sensors are likely eroded from my intense affinity for heat), but the poutine was a standout, which we ordered with bbq pork add-on. And while it won't quite pass muster in Montreal (tbh I've rarely had authentic poutine in the US despite seeing it on menus a lot - the cheese curds are never right), it was piping hot and delicious. The revelation was the twisty cut potatoes underneath, seriously additive! I love places with heart, which isn't always easy to define but the effort can be discerned in the atmosphere and the details. The Wherehouse has got that spirit & essence. With 16 rotating draft lines featuring regional brews, and substantial food offerings that far outpaces the typical bar menu, it's a down-to-earth dining establishment with the soul of a dive bar, that makes you feel welcomed like a local from the get-go.

Between the delicious food, outstanding service, and breathtaking views of the Hudson River and the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge, it's always a great experience. The staff is consistently friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. The servers know the menu well and are happy to make recommendations, making every visit feel relaxed and enjoyable. One of our favorite times to visit is for their weekend brunch buffet, which offers a great variety of options. During the week, their Happy Hour (4-7 PM) is another favorite, especially the $1 oysters. It gets busy, so I definitely recommend arriving early. Just keep in mind that Happy Hour is available only in the bar and lounge area. The restaurant is clean, has a spacious parking lot shared with the neighboring restaurant, and offers a beautiful outdoor patio overlooking the river during the warmer months. The patio closes for the winter, but it's one of the best places to dine when the weather is nice. They also have a kids' menu, although my 6-year-old usually orders from the regular menu because she has a very adventurous palate. If you're looking for great seafood, excellent service, gorgeous waterfront views, and one of the best dining experiences in Newburgh, Blu Pointe is an easy recommendation. It's one of our favorite restaurants, and we always look forward to coming back.

We went for a late lunch and were pleasantly surprised by how attentive the service was. The setting alone is quiet, scenic, and relaxing, adding to the experience feeling special. We're particular about cocktails, and the specialty drinks leaned a bit sweet and light for our taste, but switching to a Grey Goose martini solved that quickly. The standout of the meal was the special appetizer, the Lobster Escargot. Between the bread service and the rich, bisque-like sauce layered over the classic preparation, I could have happily ended the meal right there. We left no trace behind. I followed with the crab cake and wedge salad. The crab cake was generously sized, very fresh, and exactly what I hoped for. My husband ordered the branzino, which was absolute perfection, beautifully cooked and full of flavor. The sides, however, were less memorable; the smashed potatoes and green beans felt under-seasoned and a bit boring compared to the rest of the meal. Overall, it was a lovely anniversary lunch with memorable dishes and a beautiful view.

I'm not sure if it was the night before a big snow storm or because this place is still new but there were 2 people (one cook and one bartender) on staff for about 50 customers. I came with a party of 7, we ordered our food and drinks at around 7:15ish. It took a while for us to all get our drinks but they were amazing!! I had the tamarind margarita, it was the perfect balance of sweet and sour. I couldn't taste the alcohol but then again, I also didn't feel it. My friend had the amaretto sour and thought it was the best she's ever had. Two of us got our food at 8:30 while the rest of the party got their food past 9. The tacos were some of the best I ever had, the corn tortilla was fried ever so slightly that they were able to hold the hefty portion of steak, cheese and salsa. 4 tacos for $6!! Overall, I think this place looks fun, has delicious food and drinks but the service needs work. 2 hours for food, not worth the time...

They definitely check IDs (for the youngins). I saw some girls waiting outside because they didn't have proper IDs and couldn't get in. It was $20 to enter. Not too bad considering there was an artist performing. They patted us down very thoroughly both males and females. Then we went straight to the bar. This also didn't take long to get a drink. It took about 5-6 minutes. I ordered a Don Julio with cranberry. I just wanted something quick. It cost $20 for a double. I think that's pretty crazy but I feel like all bars charge crazy prices for drinks. I would advise pregaming. The bar was definitely packed. There was no table of chair that wasn't filled and the dance floor was full of people. The music selection was great. Mainly rap and R&B, new and throwbacks. There are LED screens everywhere that really give the appearance of an upscale club. The bathrooms are pretty clean and accessible. The people are friendly and good vibes. I didn't try any food because I got there around 12 am, but I will be going back to try. The security guards do their job well and yes they told my boyfriend and I to move away from the hookah door by asking us "Are you buying hookah? If not move away from the door." Like excuse me sir, you could've said it a little nicely. But it didn't ruin the vibe. When Lola finally came everyone crowded up by the stage and she did her thing. We had a great time and we will be back.

The main theme seems to be fresh fish, seafood, and it seems fresh everything else. (Confirmed that they get fresh shipments daily). With reservations for 9 at 6:30 on a Monday, where many places are closed, we walked into a fully booked restaurant. Our giant table stood out amongst all the other full tables that were in various stages of dining. So, we took up a decent amount of the restaurant space. A reunion with family and so were happy to talk and have some bread, and drinks while they were wrapping up their other patrons also enjoying themselves. The main purpose seemed to be to time taking our orders in a way that they would come out properly. As the food came out, it was one wonderful dish after another. I could name and describe eschar one, but fresh and flavorful is the best way. I can imagine that at the time when we arrived that the kitchen was hopping. The chefs seemed to focus very well on each individual order, so of course it took some, but not excessive time. As it took a little while to start we also were not rushed out. Perhaps if we had gotten there at 5 then I suppose we might have been moved along some, since restaurants need to get some turnover at the peak hours, we were happy to offer some well rewarded patience, which was reciprocated with polite, warm, service and great food. This is a regular place for locals who know what they like. It is well worth putting some effort in to explore the various foods and drinks offered, as they were all exceptional. So, I must give it 5 stars. The food is fantastic, the atmosphere is unique and actually stunning, especially during daylight where you are overlooking the Hudson and into the mountains across the river. Thus, it is a great landmark establishment of the Newburgh area.
