A locksmith from another company initially came out and spent about 3 hours trying to make us a key but was unable to program a usable key in the end since our car's electrical system was not what he was used to. We still ended up paying quite a bit of money for his time and effort though. I was hesitant about calling another locksmith out but I'm so glad I did. Not only was he so quick in responding to my message and coming out to us, but the locksmith was so much more experienced and knowledgeable than the first one we called. He programmed us a key in less than an hour! The guy who came out was super friendly and professional, and i would definitely recommend to anyone in need of a skilled locksmith. :)

He didn't say anything about breaking it. As soon as I realized I called him but he's been ignoring. I now have to take it to the dealership because it's an airbag and safety issue that he caused. I was originally going to be content with just a refund and chalk it up as a "oh well, things happen" but now I must spend my time pursuing legal action. Mistakes happen, that I can understand. What I'm not okay with is the shady business practice of not trying to make it right.

He did get there pretty quick. However, when he got there, he went in the wrong way into the parking lot, and then parked right behind me, blocking traffic. There was a parking spot right next to me, but this guy and his big truck seemed to be above it all. Process took all of 5 minutes. The guy was a complete asshole. Wouldn't make eye contact the whole time, and he barely spoke above a whisper. If you add in his accent, I was barely able to understand him. He sat in the drivers seat of his car and made me wait right outside while he did paperwork. Again, still blocking traffic, as cars barely had enough room to squeeze around him I never was able to get a quote out of them over the phone. However, they were the third locksmith placed I called, and I was just happy to get someone who was able to come unlock my car. Do not recommend. I am sure there are much nicer companies out there who don't have assholes working for them.

I actually timed it. 9:58 pm to 10:01 pm. They take advantage of a person standing alone in the dark... I fully intend to file a complaint with the BBB they were so bad. In my entire life, I have never had to do so, but with this business, I absolutely feel that I must. If they had said that they were going to charge me $75 when I asked them over the phone, then it would be my option to call someone else, but to tell me $25, then to triple the amount when they arrive and am standing alone in the dark is a horrible thing to do.... even if the 3 min work had been worth an extra $50. They also have other phone numbers ... DO NOT call them... Be wary if you see the phone number 800 983-0994, the number 602-633-0200 or the number 480-292-5442

The only key to my VW Jetta GLI, simply vanished after I got home last Wednesday evening. We looked…read morehigh & low but couldn't find them anywhere (entire key ring with car & house keys) they vanished & the car was stuck in my garage. Well I'm now learning that VW's are not as cheap or easy to replace a lost key as Fords or Chevy's are, they have this neat but pricey "flip" key (switchblade) that serves as a remote to unlock the doors, it contains an anti-theft transponder (like most other car brands) an ability to send a signal to the engine computer's immobilizer, that needs a special code to be programmed into the key and the car simultaneously, and lastly, it's a "sidewinder" key that has grooves cut into the sides rather than teeth as a normal key does and requires special equipment to cut the grooves into that type of key. To make things worse, I live in Coolidge, and to replace a lost VW key (when there are no other keys remaining), the dealer says, first you must have the car towed to them, then wait two days after they order the correct key for it (the keys are ordered by a car's VIN and cut to match your car at VW, who then sends it pre-cut, to the dealership). The dealers apparently don't have the equipment to make (cut) a new key themselves anymore, they only sell blank spares (if they're in stock), or they can order a blank from VW that has been ordered pre-cut to open your particular car's locks. But then the transponder, anti-theft immobilizer and remote, all have to be programmed at a cost of $125 in addition to the cost of the $175 key...adding in the towing fee (unless you have AAA) and the inconvenient two day part wait time (BTW, you must arrive IN TIME for a key to be ordered by 1 pm, anytime after that and it doesn't count as a day), it could get up to an inconvenient $500 for ONE new key at the dealer! Then it gets complicated...If your car had a previous owner and he replaced a lock or re-keyed the vehicle at some point, VW has no way of knowing that and will only cut the $175 key to the original pattern the car came with that's on record. So if it doesn't fit, (to unlock the door or start the ignition) the customer is still responsible & must pay for a now useless $175 key! Unreal...! I decided to go a different route. I Googled "VW locksmiths in AZ" and must've called over a half a dozen locksmiths that could not do it for one reason or another... In fact one locksmith who said he'd do it, had me waiting 1.5 extra hours one day till I finally called to see what time they were coming, only to be told they decided they wouldn't be coming now because I live too far from Mesa...it would have been nice to let me know about that decision too, I thought. Tom at US Key Service was called next...not only was he slightly LESS expensive than the other "experts" but THE NEXT DAY I called him up at 8:00 AM, we set up an appt for between 12 to 2 PM and he promptly & professionally arrived and with all the keys in stock, had 2 keys ready for me in about an hour, all completely programmed and working perfectly! I got 2 keys (one flip key & one valet key) from him for slightly less than the no-show locksmiths, who sounded much less knowledgeable than Tom & had accents so thick, I could barely understand, were able to do just ONE key...but still never showed up! Tom's the man; I should have called him first and saved myself a few hours of calling around the VW dealerships and locksmiths and getting only disappointment and frustration in return. Grade A all the way for US Key Service!

Literally within 2 mins of reaching out to Azlockouts, Joseph responded, asked for my location on and was at my apartment complex within in 15 mins. When Joseph arrived however, he thought it was a car lockout job. He said no worries, my friend Peter can help. He called Peter right then and there and told me he'd be to me within 15 mins. I did not ask for a rate .... just didn't think about about it. Peter arrived within the quoted timeframe and immediately noticed an issue with my lock. It was a secure lock, which meant it needed a drill to be open. Peter said he would try to get the lock open without a drill first, that way he wouldn't have to re-key the lock. He tried that for about an hour or so. After multiple attempts Peter said I'm going to have to use the drill, but it'll cost an extra $20, which brings my total $80. Cool... I had no choice! Once Peter used the drill it only took him a few more minutes (about 30) to change the lock. Once he was done I paid for the services through Cash App. I sent $80, that's what Peter quoted me. Once Peter received the payment he said "Oh wow! You left me a tip". I said ... ummmm Peter you quoted me $80. He said oh yeah I forgot! I'm inclined to believe the real quote for services isn't $80, or even $60 .... but what's a girl to do with your stuck out of your apartment. I'd recommend if you needed a locksmith because they were there in a jiffy. I'd say, like always be sure to get your rates up front!!!!
