Coming in the door we were passed by two wait staff and no smiles or hello! Don't come for the friendliness, you may be disappointed. The beer is good (the posted price does or include sales tax, so $5 becomes $5.38). Allow me to review Lock 27 Brewing. Jan and I always sit at the bar. I love socializing with people when I'm not around dogs. Kelsie, our bartender and server was very attentive and friendly. I ordered a flight of 4 brews.....Ace Space, Lost Coast Tangerine, Alpheus, and Spillway. Great choices for my palette. Jan had the Lost coast tangerine and enjoyed it very much. Our main courses were the brisket sandwich and the MAC and Cheese with bacon and blue cheese. Both were perfectly prepared and permeated our tastebuds with a delightful taste. We love Love 27! This place has it figured out! This was my first visit and will not be the last. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was that the place is both handsome and beautiful. Appealing to both genders. I'm a details person and appreciate that they thought to put hooks both under the bar AND under the tabletops so ladies that carry purses have a safe place to stash them. There is a clean single stall restroom which I also appreciate. There is a drink menu on the table and the daily specials on the big blackboard by the bar. Don't worry, they will bring you a food menu too. My date ordered the Cubano sandwich and it was hard to give it back after he let me try a bite. This sandwich is perfect. I'm pretty picky about Cubans but I would order this. The spicy mustard is the perfect compliment. I ordered the chicken panini with apples. It was really good but I have to be honest after I had a bite of that Cuban there was no comparison! We ordered the flavored dips for fries. The chipotle catsup and the sage mayo. This is going to be a personal preference. He liked the mayo, I found it bland. I like the catsup, he found it too sweet. I ordered a firebreather IPA. It was a very very good beer. Perfect for slowly sipping with a meal. The server forgot about it and didn't bring it until after I got my meal, but was quick to address it and was apologetic. My wife and I were in the area with friends, and wanted a casual dinner option, when our friends suggested Lock 27. It's a gastropub located in a strip mall, but don't let that scare you away. Food: Between four of us, we ordered two orders of the smoked wings, poutine, pierogies, and mac and cheese. The smoked wings come with a sriracha blue cheese that was surprisingly good. The wings are dry rub and come with a nice, smokey sauce as well. The poutine was wonderful, the fries weren't soggy yet, and covered with a generous portion of cheese curds, and braised beef. The pierogies are from Perla Pierogies in Parma, Ohio, which is an area I used to live in growing up, though my only complaint was the excessive amount of sauteed onions they were covered with. The mac and cheese wasn't anything special, but maybe we should have had added blue cheese or chicken to it. It wasn't bad, but it was the most simple, plain of the dishes we ordered. Service: We walked in around 4:30PM on Saturday evening, with maybe 60% of the restaurant full. We sat down at a table towards the back, and were quickly greeted by our server who brought us menus and gave us a quick overview of the seasonal specials before asking our drink orders. Water was brought out quickly, and our food wasn't very far behind. We had a bit of a time brunch, so we asked for our bill once our food came out, which was done promptly. Facilities: Typical gastropub decor, but located in a strip mall so you know it's all really fake. There's two single occupancy bathrooms in the back, which were clean, well stocked and working. What kind of tap room is out of like three quarters of their beers? Especially when the brewery is less than 20 miles away?! Meh, at this point I couldn't even tell you what we tried. Nothing stood out to me, it was all pretty basic. ANYWAYS - the food. The table shared the smoked wings, pierogies, and poutine. The wings were not my thing, but everyone else liked them. *shrugs* The poutine was good, but overly salty. The pierogies were... ok... they tasted like they had been purchased premade frozen from kroger. The caesar salad was the most underwhelming, sad, and unflavorful salad I've had in a long time. (Seriously, the caesar at Panera is better.) The service however, was great. The bathrooms are clean and have a nice baby changing station. I finally stopped by Lock 27 Brewing over the 4th of July holiday weekend with a friend, I grew up in the Kettering/Centerville area and heard about this place from several friends. We both started off with a flight of their in house brew beers - Mouth Breather IPA, Sunfish lighter beer, Napoleon's Armee (Berliner Weiss), Bear Trap brown ale and Tuco Mexican lager. I enjoyed the Mouth Breather the most, yes I'm a hop head. Then we moved on to food - my friend ordered the mac & cheese with chicken and I just went for an order of fries as I had come from another event. The order of fries was huge with a few sauces - chipotle ketchup, pesto mayo & garlic mustard. The food came pretty quickly. Our waitress must have had just about the entire brew pub to cover she was taking care of drinks behind the bar, taking care of tables all around us, felt bad for her as she was running around like crazy taking care of so many people. With a good selection of draft beer and great food options, Lock 27 has quickly become a regular weekend spot for my friends and I. The food is very fresh and appetizers are bi enough to share. They have a variety of entree items including fish tacos, pastas, crab cakes, burgers, and steak just to name a few - all that I've tried have been flavorful with a nice presentation. Let's not overlook the beer. They brew several of their own varieties as well as serve other craft selections. Selections seems to change by season to allow guests the opportunity to try something new. Reservations are highly recommended! I have tried for 2 years to establish a relationship w this location to host a huge private client event for a ball game after drinks, food and social hour. They literally have not replied to our request. I have called and sent numerous emails requests. Crickets! So all I can suggest that Lock 27 makes so much money that hosting a annual event with us is totally beneath them! So I have suggested to fellow employees and wealth managers to avoid this establishment! No one does it better than Brixx Ice House! I certainly hope some local developers come in and leave Lock 27 in the wind! Whenever my friends and I talk about the best wings in Dayton, everyone I know says Lock 27. The wings have a deep smoked flavor that reminds me of Memphis. Every time I go to Lock 27 they have something new and amazing. This time, it was a stuffed head-on Rainbow trout that explodes in your face. The skin was so crispy and the inside tender... all I could think about was taking it home so my wife and I could share this awesomeness. That's what I did. Oh!!! The Poutine! A French dish that is french fries with gravy. You can get it in Canada too. Absolutely amazing. I don't have to say much because the photos I attach say it all. All their beer is gold. As we enjoyed our meal, the manger (super cool guy) was writing up a new custom beer flavor on the chalk board called "Pumpkin Pie". I'm torn with how many stars to give this establishment... the house beer is just alright nothing that stands out... its a "brewery" so the focus should be on beer but they also focus on delicious food things that all sounded savory and one of a kind. 3 of 5 stars for the Beer: They have about 5 or 6 of their own beers on tap and then another 5 to 6 "guest" beers which just means whatever strikes their fancy... not necessarily other local beers. After being disappointed with similar breweries offering "gourmet" bar food, we decided to give Lock 27 a try. I am pleased to say that we left with full bellies and no regrets! We started with the pretzel sticks appetizer served with a spicy mustard, a grain mustard and some of the best beer cheese dip I've ever tasted in my life. The pretzels were large, soft and perfectly chewy and the hot mustard had a nice wasabi kick in the throat that I loved! The grain mustard didn't have a lot of flavor so we both ended up avoiding that one, but we could've eaten the beer cheese dip with a spoon it was so good. Great way to start our visit. For lunch my husband had the brisket sandwich which he devoured quickly. The meat was tender and delicious and the housemade BBQ sauce was nice and sweet. The Belgian-style fries served on the side were AMAZING, so I can definitely see why they're famous for them. I ordered the lunch special of a half order of wings and a wedge salad. I received 4 of the mild, dry smoked wings (soooo delicious!) and a huge wedge of iceberg smothered in their housemade sriracha blue cheese dressing. I wasn't crazy about the salad dressing: it was basically just a creamy sriracha since I couldn't detect any blue cheese in it whatsoever, so a little too spicy for my liking. However, the bacon crumbles were crisp and delicious and the portions were large for only $10 so I was still pleased. The restaurant was busy and our waiter was a little distracted so the service wasn't 100%, but the food was pretty delicious overall and the prices are amazing so we will definitely be back again. read more

It seemed that the staff was really into themselves, having their shifties and such, and ignored paying customers. I was very dissatisfied. I'd heard about this kind of treatment from friends who'd experienced the same dissatisfaction, but I didn't completely believe it until I saw it personally. I won't be back any time soon. read more

Very good! Met some friends here last night and had a very good time. Beer was good and the service was great! Ryan took very good care of us. We had appetizers, dinner and dessert. For apps we enjoyed the salmon quesadilla and the perogies, and perogies were great! I ordered the brisket sandwich-- fantastic-- while the rest of our party ordered fish tacos, meatloaf sliders and macaroni and cheese. Dessert was good too. I usually have nothing but raves regarding this business but a couple of days ago I had the worst Reuben sandwich ever. It is one thing to have a poor product regarding the meet but the bread used was burnt, a huge blob of nothing but fat and very tough meet was used. I stopped by to try their beers but found they offer so much more. They have a nice location in a mall. They have plenty of parking out front. The front also has a patio area which makes fall with milder weather a plus for those that like the outdoors. The inside is good with a couple of long tables that can seat 10 to 12 for those interested in meeting with a group. The bar is nice and spacious and they have hooks underneath for purses or other bags. The menu has an average selection but what I liked is how they proudly display they support using products not just from Ohio but locally in their city. Their beer is good and service was very good considering it is friday night and they were packed. The server checked on me several times and made sure I had everything I needed. Came with a group of six on a Saturday night after it was recommended by coworkers. Everything about the experience was great! Between us we tried all the house made beers and all were happy with their choices. The Winston was a particular favorite. The appetizers also really shined: the frites were amazing mostly because the sauces that come with it are to die for. We also loved the hummus made with ale: AMAZING. Service was a little slow, but it seems like that was because they needed maybe one more waiter scheduled in order to keep up. We ended up yelping this place on our way to Springfield. It was an early Saturday afternoon and I opted for the Bunch selection of chicken and waffles. My husband chose the Mahi Mahi tacos and we ordered the mild dry rubbed wings. If I could give this place 10 stars I would. The wings are among the best we've ever had... my chicken had the same dry rub on it and the waffles were drizzled with a bourbon syrup. A pretty decent place to sit down for drinks or a meal. They don't have as much variety in drinks as I would like, but I must give them props for their ghost pepper use in beers (ie Firebreather) as it really is a unique experience. The waiters and waitresses I've had have all been very knowledgable about their beers and their descriptions are spot-on. My boyfriend likes the poutine, although he's not a fan of the meat being mixed in the poutine itself. Their drinks are reasonable priced, as is their food. Lock 27 is located in a pretty quiet part of town, so it's a very nice, relaxing, chill place. They have an outdoors area that is nice in the summer as well. read more

He said it was very good... said its as good as it gets .I got the mac n cheese with bacon and blue cheese. .it was very rich but yummy. Tried the beer cheese soup.. it came with popcorn on top??? Didn't love that and popcorn wasn't a topping I'd recommend for soup. The soup didn't taste cheesy to me ... so wouldn't get that again. We didn't need dessert but had it anyway. .. a brownie with ice cream. ..had the choice between vanilla, Carmel or cherry with chocolate shavings. Pleasant outdoor area with some dining items. The items they do have were nicely arranged, but not as much variety as zI would have liked. Too much grain & bread. They have a wide variety of alcoholic beverages though and a pleasant enough interior of the restaurant. Very ornamental heavy wooden doors..Nice touch... And the bar is a pleasure to look at...
