We visited on a Sunday evening around 6:30p. Near the entrance a sign indicates that you're welcome to seat yourself. Only a few tables were in use, so we had lots of options. We chose a corner towards the back in hopes of keeping our children out of everyone's way. Our waitress visited us almost immediately and brought drinks and took our order shortly after. I felt like the food was out in no time, which was much appreciated! We tried the poutine and the Reuben egg rolls (on their current list of specials). The poutine has some solid fries absolutely covered in meat, gravy and a handful of cheese curds. The gravy was super flavorful! The egg rolls (two huge egg rolls per order) had a ton of cheese! The melty-ness of the cheese provided the perfect texture balance to the crunch of the roll. And the the 1000 Island dipping sauce provided all the flavor (and a small kick of heat!). Stopped in with my wife after a sporting event. We were seated immediately, and the host was more personable than most. He wasn't so over the top it seemed fake, but his mannerisms and charm made it very sincere. Our waiter was at the table within a minute or two and asked if we'd been to Lock 27 before. When we told him we had not, he offered up the fact the kitchen is a scratch kitchen, and the beer list in orange were the beer brewed on site. He asked if we knew what we were looking for, so we told him we'd like to start with the Waterway Wheat beer and a glass of wine for my bride. By the time the drinks arrived, we'd decided on a small order of wings, a Caesar salad, and the bacon burger. I've eaten a lot of chicken wings in my day, and these were definitely top 5. Meaty, dry rub, (temperature) hot, and perfectly seasoned. They came with a jalapeno (possibly habanero) sauce and a sriracha sauce. Just delicious. The salad looked to be crisp, the croutons were crisp, and the dressing was on point. The bacon burger arrived as delicious as the photo is beautiful. You get beer brewed on premises, food from a scratch kitchen, and outstanding service all the way around. This used to be a fun place to go to have a few beers and good food but something has changed for the worse over the past year or so. They are always out of one or more of their flagship beers and also out of many food items. The servers used to be very friendly but most of the good ones have left. The bartender spends too much time talking to her friends and is not very attentive to her other customers. The quality of the food is great and the atmosphere is quaint inside - with a patio for the more mild days. My favorite beer here is the Wolk, but unfortunately they don't always have it. Terrible. Our waitress Miranda was rude.. shouted questions at the table and was not remotely hospitable. I watched the bartender disappear for 5-10 minutes while waiters and waitresses waited patiently for their return.. eager to serve their customers. It's clear that between an unsupportive bar staff and a kitchen that serves poor quality food, the stress on the waitstaff is high. Food took way too long and came out staggered.. half the table had food for 10 minutes before the other half was served. What took the longest? A house salad. Congratulations. When everyone's food was finally served.. it was craptastic. I posted a photo of the fries I was served. Why would anyone think it's acceptable to send those tiny fry nuggets out to customers? Hubby and I stopped by Lock27 for an early dinner one afternoon. It was quiet and only a couple people were working. We looked at a menu and a couple things looked really good on the menu. But that menu was immediately taken away from us and replaced with a menu that took away a lot of the interesting ethnic items. I ended up ordering the Rueben which was ok, but not great. Hopefully they really had just an off-day, but I went back to experience chicken wing nirvana & was terribly disappointed. The wings were just barely cooked through, very greasy, the skin was rubbery, and they had almost no rub on them. In other words, they were the exact opposite of what I'd had before. I didn't send them back or complain. I've seen the movie "Waiting". The beer cheese with the pretzels was very runny & wouldn't stick. Great food, nice selection of their own beers plus a couple of guest taps, and with great service. We had pirogues for appetizers, salads, and sliders. I want to get the bad out of the way first. This place gets really busy sometimes, and that can be frustrating when you're trying to get in for an early dinner and there is a small line waiting ahead of you. That's completely the restaurant's fault. If they didn't make some of the best food I've ever had, we wouldn't be having this problem. I've been in there a few times, and I've always been content with the food, to the point that I get sad when I have to leave. They have a delicious chicken and waffles with an amazing syrup that they make themselves, and the chicken is perfectly tender, ready to slide off of the bone and onto the crisp waffle. The Resolution Salad is my wife's favorite dish here, and I often sneak a few bits of the roasted potatoes for myself, dipping it into the slightly sweet lemon vinagrette. But last night I took a friend there. We both decided to try something different, and I went for a caprese panini entree with Bacon Wrapped Shrimp as my appetizer. I've capitalized the first letters of the appetizer to help emphasize that this is the true subject of my post today. I've literally never had anything better in my life. This wasn't the beer talking, because I couldn't stop eating long enough to get halfway through my beer. I was presented with four hearty sized jumbo shrimp, wrapped in a crunchy and perfectly browned bacon, sitting on a bed of cheesy polenta. The entire dish had a light drizzle of what appeared to be basalmic vinegar, garnished with a tomato and red onion relish. Upon my first bite, my friend looked over at me and noticed my wide eyes, asking if I was alright. I just nodded and took another bite. Then another. I slowly worked through the delicious polenta with the creamy romano cheese melted into it. The saltiness of the basalmic vinegar playing wonderfully against the savoriness of the polenta. The crunchy bacon held the soft body of the shrimp tightly, keeping the meal well presented, and providing the perfect morsel for dipping into the relish laden creamy polenta. I cleaned this plate, and looked over at my caprese panini. I had half a mind to box that up for later and just order another appetizer, but I soldiered on. The panini, although delicious, couldn't compare. I'm here typing this on yelp, and I have three other tabs looking up how to possibly make this myself, while also checking to see what time Lock 27 opens today. read more

I just couldn't let this slide because of my disappointment. My wife and I have been coming here for about how long it's been open at this location. Absolutely loved the food, service, atmosphere, even supported during the pandemic. This place is usually spot on, quality food always, the wings are always one of a kind, service on point. Today was the total opposite of that. My wife and I sit down and I immediately notice that a lady is sending her food back. Ok, no biggie maybe they she just picky, it's not going to affect my food, I said to my self. Some time passes by and our waitress finally gets to us and gives us our menus. My wife and I looked looked over our menus and decided on the drinks, an order of wings (of course!) and our lunch. We waited a quite bit longer and the waitress came back and apologized for our wait and took our orders. While we were waiting for our items I noticed the same lady send her food back to the kitchen. This is when I thought something was out of the norm, and gave "The Look" to my wife. We got our drinks, I ordered an Old Fashioned and my wife ordered a mojito. We were celebrating her getting her masters degree so wanted to get some celebrating in at one of her favorite spots. So we get our drinks and I'm looking at the waitress bring my wife her mojito...and it's in a martini glass...wtf? The mojito looked and tasted...well let's just say it was definitely someone's very first day behind the bar. So we both give each other the look and tell the waitress you know we good...we'll make the best of it. I get my drink and take a sip. Notice that's it's not good as well, like it's just not made the same as it usually is and is short as hell! We get our wings and right away I notice that the wings look off. Not uncooked or anything but just not to what "Lock 27 wings" normally look and taste like. My wife didn't notice anything off the bat, so I pushed it to the side so she could enjoy her wings. Me though, I knew the quality of those wings were not Lock 27 known standards. So we get our food and it gets in front of us and I'm like, "Wow, they really slapped this ish together?" Like it just looked like it was sloppy... I mean the 3 tacos on my wife's plate just looked the garbage plate at this place called Nick Tahoe's where I grew up at, it just looked bleh... I got a burger, well how can you mess up a burger? By overcooking it and a moldy tomato... wtf yo? This is Lock 27, you guys charge too much for that ish. The topper of the whole afternoon, there was a fly in my drink! There was A DAMN FLY IN MY DRINK! WTF MAN!? Yo...that just killed it for us, I mean absolutely killed it for us. I can understand that it is Monday in December, folks is getting in they work routine, things might not have been closed right from the day before, whatever whatever... but yo that is no excuse for this type of quality and service when we gotta pay those prices. Went on a Friday at 5:00. Waited for a server for 15 minutes, and nobody waited on us, so I went to the bar and caught the young guy's attention. He said he'd be right over. Then he proceeded to pour beers and serve them to another table, two beers at a time, five times (which took a long time). Then he waited on another table that had already been served earlier. He finally came to our table, and I ordered a flight of beers. Then 10 minutes passed and I saw the nobody had even poured my flight. So I told him to forget it, and left. I would eat here every night if we could! My husband and I love coming in on date nights for a couple cocktails and craft beers. We also bring our sons in for dinner and dessert. The meat and cheese board is my favorite snack while we're out since it's always changing and presented so beautifully. The staff is always so nice to us and even though we've only been in Centerville for a few weeks, they're already so playful with my kids and quick to make meaningful drink suggestions to us. We've brought our parents and friends here when they're down visiting our new home because it has such an amazing atmosphere. I've only been once and I'm fairly impressed. I didn't get food, but enjoyed a beer on the patio with a friend. I had the Spillway, which is an American Pale Ale and delicious. My friend had the Oat Rodeo and really enjoyed it. The food menu looked great and the stuff I saw come out looked delicious. I can't wait to go back and eat there too. One issue I have is that this place is so small and really not suited for two people. All the tables are huge. I also wish they had a little bigger outdoor area. This was one of our favorite spots in Centerville. We just left after another disappointing experience. The food was fine but very slow to come out. It's very overpriced for what you get. The service is sooooo slow. We were sat down relatively quick but then it was downhill from there. We waited at least 10 minutes for someone to even get our drink order. We waited entirely too long to get waters, food, check, and had to get up and get our own condiments after asking when we ordered and when the food was dropped off. Tonight I ordered a burger and fries to go. Pretty simple. Staff was very friendly and food was ready quickly. However, when I got home my son opened it and he has a burger. No fries.
