This place had amazing reviews so I wanted to try it of course! The burger was a little dry for the meat but the chicken sandwich was great! I also tried the gumbo soup that was great as well. The fries were fine, nothing amazing. The burger came with chips. The place seemed clean and wasn't very busy for lunch time. The service was pretty slow however. I think the waitress came by mayb 2 times. I may go back another time in the future but not for awhile. read more

I love the people here so much, I really felt like the staff was family - and they were so caring! There is so much I love about this place food wise too - the poutine is to absolutely die for. The drinks were also amazingly superb! It really hurts me to do this, but the reason I'm withholding my 5th star is because some of the sandwich items tasted tasted a bit funk / lacking sufficient flavor. We landed at SLC and headed to Lehi. We were hungry so I found this place. What a great find. I had the ahi melt with fries and my husband had the Jambalaya. Both hit the spot. Bryson was friendly, knowledgeable about the food (and the area) and generally just a great server. We had such a good experience we went back 2 nights later and again, excellent. I hate so say this but usually when it comes to strip mall restaurants, there's something in the back of my head saying "Ugghhh". While that voice made a peep yesterday, we still decided to plow down and chow down here for a senior citizen type of dinner time of 5pm. We didn't eat lunch so right away we wanted to appetizer it up with their Buffalo Wings. They didn't stand a chance of not being finished of more than 5 minutes. They had some sort of char to them which was a nice take instead of your usual deep fried wings. Then I tried their Steak Sandwich with their homemade fries on the side. Woe, that bread was sooo soft and the steak was hearty and cooked a perfect Medium Rare. It had some cheese, diced sautéd onions and diced green peppers. It was great and could only do half and an amazing amount of seasoning and salt on those fresh cut fries. There is plenty of parking available and the staff was so friendly, welcoming and attentive as well. Super cool spot and we can't wait to go back! read more

This is a place that doesn't really seem to know who they are. They've got sort of a Southern food Louisiana vibe with things like Gumbo a Jambalaya, BBQ Shrimp and Grits, Crawfish and Shrimp Etouffee. But if you go in before dinner you can't order an entrée or from the grill so it's more like sandwiches burgers and hot dogs. They offer an alcohol menu and they have a small bar seating area but the rest of the place didn't really have a "this is a place to get a drink" vibe. They were playing reggae and island type music when we were there. We started with the Jalapeno, Bacon-Wrapped, BBQ Shrimp. Two smallish skewers with moderately overcooked shrimp with a very sweet but otherwise sort of bland BBQ sauce and I had to double check the menu to make sure it said there was jalapeno and afterwards I was able to identify some. I feel like $16 was a significant overspend for what we got. My wife and I ended up ordering hot dogs, although that wasn't really what we went in there looking for. My wife originally ordered the Chili Cheese Dog and I ordered the Chicago Dog. Quite a bit after we ordered the server came back and let my wife know they didn't have any Chili so she'd have to change her order. She ended up getting the All American Dog. I really like a good Chicago Dog. The meat was tasty and it was a large hot dog. Unfortunately the bun was completely overstuffed and there was no way that the hotdog could be picked up and eaten as a hotdog so I had sort of a deconstructed Chicago Dog that I ate with a fork. The tomato was cut into 1/4 wedges and was the single biggest offender to prevent me from picking up the dog and eating it. I opted for "kettle chips" which were nothing at all like kettle chips and were basically generic ruffles. My wife's hotdog was fine and she opted for fries with a garlic aioli which was really good. So the Localz Bistro doesn't have any real local connection and absolutely not a local theme or menu. read more

This place is cute and the service was great for me and my group of friends -- we weren't in a rush. Our waiter gave us his recommendations and plenty of time to chat and decide. I tried the Hatch Mac and Cheese which was ultra creamy, and cheesy with flavorful notes of hatch peppers without being spicy. Loved it! I also got a cup of the Red Beans and Rice which wasn't anything to write home about. The cornbread was dry, crumbly, and savory (not sweet like I like). It was better eaten doused inside the cup of soup. The waiter said all the items are from scratch for the desserts down to the caramel sauce. My friends and I shared the cheesecake and bread pudding. Both HUGE servings and very delicious. Definitely need to share if you're getting dessert. Overall we enjoyed our meals and would go back. read more

We went here on the recommendation for my son. I'm surprised this place isn't more booked out that it is. The bread pudding, the gumbo, the Alfredo, and our favorite barbecue shrimp and grits were all just amazing. Combine that with really good service, and this place is just considered amazing. I'm so glad we went with the barbecue shrimp, as that is what the waiter recommended and it was not what I was originally planning to order. It's not something I usually go for. But I still dream of that incredibly unctuous sauce. Very good gumbo. We shared. Next time we will not share. I want my own. I'm always on a hunt for bread pudding. If it's on the menu, you bet I'm going to order it. Usually I'm disappointed, when ordering bread pudding and it's just a brick. There were ten of us who visited Localz for a birthday celebration. Walking into the restaurant it was a lot bigger than it appeared from the outside and they were easily able to sit our large group. The wait staff were all very polite and didn't seemed bothered by the large group, which was a plus. The only downfall is that all of our meals came out at separate times. Our last person was just barely getting their meal while the first person to get their meal had finished and was waiting while the rest of the table ate. We ordered a wide variety of food, starting with poutine and cheese curds, both of which were delicious. We also had the bacon cheeseburger, jambalaya, Localz dog, alfredo pasta, and side salad, just to name a few. The hamburger was ok, you couldn't really taste the cheese on it. The fries and fry sauce were very good and the pasta had a homemade taste to it. Overall I am not sure if I would go out of my way to eat here again, but if I were in the neighborhood I wouldn't cross it off the list. read more

Cute little place with a beautiful view of the mountains. They have a large outdoor patio with table service that can get filled up fast on a nice evening. They have a bar but are also pretty family friendly. The poutine fries were so good, I loved all the gravy and melted cheese. The BBQ Shrimp and grits were delicious, super flavorful sauce and amazing cheesy grits. The Jambalaya was also pretty good with a flavorful sauce. They have a full bar with lots of cocktails, beer, and wine. I really enjoyed the spicy margaritas the bartender made me and look forward to returning and trying more of their yummy food. read more

Washingtonian here Food: I had a couple things for the first time ever here. #1 Poutine. I think they hand punch the fries and they were cooked to perfection with a generous amount of gravy and cheese curds. 9/10 #2 I had the Low Country Shrimp and Grits and Woow full of flavor and they didn't skimp on the shrimp 9/10 My lady had the Blackened Ahi Tuna . We're rarely in this neighborhood, but YELP said it was open and had decent reviews. They say in the winter it's a popular stop on the way to / from skiing. The ambiance is like a ski lodge with a lot of wood separating sections of the dining area and bar. A few TVs are showing sports games. Service here is just right... the hostess was authentically personable as she seated us, our server gave us honest recommendations, and we were checked on several times by different people. We weren't expecting the food to be as good as it turned out. Not because of what the place looked like, but the plates came out with the thoughtful appearance of a dining room instead of pseudo sports bar. The miso salmon plate was flavorful and cooked perfectly. My fried chicken sandwich was good - the bun is toasted, the fried chicken thick and juicy, the coleslaw wasn't noticeable, and I wish there were sliced pickles on it (there is a pickle spear on the plate). The truffled fries are really good (but my favorite is at Lake Powell's Antelope Point marina restaurant, for comparison). These had more Parmesan than truffle oil, but done well with skins on the fries. We would go out of our way to come back. We were so pleased with our dishes that we wonder what other items are like. Had a greet experience here with takeout. We shared the superfood greens and grains salad, vegan sandwich, bistro burger, and shrimp scampi. Everything we tried was very tasty and held up surprisingly well for take out. We also got the grilled mahi mahi and everything in mixing the accompanying rice and broccoli cook was spot on. We loved our time at Localz bistro. Our hostess was lovely and so sweet to our toddler! He loved the near at the entry way and we thought it was very cute. The only comments I have is yes, the tables are sticky and our table had a puddle underneath it by the dirty cracks and crevices... so when our toddler dropped his crayons they were a lost cause/biohazard The ambiance/theme is also a bit thrown together so I'd love to see the place get a fresh, refined look and maybe some deep cleaning but ultimately the food was so good and we almost forgot all about it! My husband ordered the red beans and rice alongside his shrimp po boy and said it was amazing! I highly recommend allowing the soups as a side in the future. He did also get the truffle fries and they were the perfect flavor and consistency! I ordered the steak arugula salad and a cup of the gumbo! I thought my steak was cooked perfectly! The salad was very fresh I just wish the peppers had been sliced and the tomato's had been diced. The gumbo was also so good and flavorful! I would go back for just a bowl! We ended our meal with the bread pudding and cheesecake! I loved my bread pudding also it was a bit stale, still so sweet and tasty! My husband thought his cheesecake was awesome! Found this place looking for a lunch spot on Yelp. We are visiting in from Louisiana, so decided to get the poutine as an appetizer. And wow! Just the perfect amount of mouthwatering cheese curds and warm liquid cheese spread across perfectly crispy made from scratch fries. I ordered myself the superfood salad with ahi tuna. Let me tell you that ahi was seared to perfection and had flavorful spice in every bite. The salad itself made me do a happy dance and it was a very good portion of food for the price! Hands down my favorite restaurant I think I have ever eaten. Also the staff was over the moon joyful ! We wanted to get dinner because the steak looked good. however, they would not serve it until 5 p.m. Not because they did not want to do it was because the chef did not arrive until 5 p.m. Instead of waiting an hour due to, we arrived at 4 PM. On our way back from Snowbird we wanted to get something to eat and Localz Bistro had great reviews and was on the way home. We were sat immediately and our waitress was super tentative. There were options for everyone on the menu - it was so hard to choose what to get. I ended up getting the buffalo chicken wrap. It was warm, crispy, spicy and most importantly, delicious. I also got to try the red pepper shrimp scampi. I am not a huge fan of red pepper so it wasn't my favorite but my friend really enjoyed it. Another member of our party got the crispy chicken sandwich that was so fresh and crispy I would go back here just for that sandwich.
