This place has one of the best fish sandwiches around. It was decadent and crispy without being too heavy. I can't wait to try their Dover sole nuggets next time. We also had fried oysters which came with an amazing parsley salad. Very clean and beautiful restaurant with a friendly staff and a good beer selection. Got the rockfish banh mi, it was pretty good, I really liked how everything in the sandwich went well together and how you could taste all the ingredients in every bite. I also liked the sauce and how there was a little but of spice. We also got the dover bites and they were pretty good too. Couldn't really tell that they were fish though. I liked the tarter sauce that came along with it since it was pretty strong while the bites were a little on the lighter flavor. The food is delish though the portions are small. The ambiance looked fine, but was packed in with people pretty tightly. We did wait one hour to order and receive our food "to go", because this restaurant is that popular. Within 30 minutes of closing time, they refused to fill a take out order by phone, which I thought was odd. The employee stated, "We're too busy so we will not take your order, sorry." This was a new twist I have not encountered before. Our solution, go to the restaurant and stand in line. Will I eat there again? I am on the fence, but probably not, mainly due to noticeably small portions which equates to low value in my eyes. read more

We dined in on a Friday afternoon for lunch around 2pm. This place is in the Fremont area along the N 36th Street strip. There was a short but fast-moving line when we ordered our food first before we got seated. My boyfriend ordered the salmon salad (5/5) - The salad and seafood was fresh and delicious. The light and sweet dressing was well-mixed in the salad that came with diced sweet potatoes or squash, quinoa, greens, and pickled beets on top. It was very fresh and I highly recommend ordering this with the clam chowder which I'm about to rave.. I ordered the clam chowder with a large toasted sourdough bread (5/5) - This was pleasant and appetizing. The very first bite of the hearty stew with a healthy portion of clams were tasty af. They put diced pancetta or bacon to add flavor to this dish. I cannot speak highly enough of this chowder because it was better than anything I've had before and the ones you get from downtown. It was hearty with bite-sized potatoes, corn, carrots, and clams. It was soo good. I would come here to order the clam chowder again and their fries . We finished both of our dishes. It was that good. The only comment coming from a native is that from their website, they advertise "eat like a local" - the food here can be a bit pricey (and we don't eat this all the time), however it is worth it for the flavor and how well they executed their dishes! read more

I don't typically eat sandwiches but this place I noticed had a vibe as was walking by. I ordered the salmon sandwich it was perfectly, so pink and pretty. It was done in a simple way but the tartar sauce enhanced the flavor, the butter lettuce was a nice touch and the softness of the Brioche bun top everything off. I devours the sandwich. The Salt and Pepper fries were a surprise, I didn't expect them to be potatoe wedges, they were piping hot but overly salted. I grew up around the Puget Sound and love seafood. Clam chowder is a favorite since childhood--all kinds. Their chowder is the chowder I've been searching for my whole life. The fish stock is insane!! So flavorful, so silky, so delicious!! I don't know if i can eat other chowders ever again--seriously so so so good. The rest of our food was amazing too. This place is special. I've only come here twice for takeout because of Covid, but both times the food has absolutely blown my mind. I got my first ever fried fish sandwich from here and then proceeded to dream of fish sandwiches from them on (I even started making them at home). Today, I got the rockfish rice bowl yuuuummy. At first, I was a little hesitant about the fish being a patty, but I shouldn't have questioned it. The combination of flavors and textures in this bowl is so good. This was an amazing spot that I'm so glad I came to check out. Food was absolutely amazing, so much flavor and so much going on in every bite. My partner and I went to grab dinner here and we went in wanting the crab roll but they only sell it on Friday Saturday and Sunday so that was a bit disappointing. With that being said we ended up getting the tuna sando and the home fries which was topped with cod, pickled onions, lemon and dill with a lemon garlic aioli. Both dishes were absolutely amazing and so much flavor! The tuna on the sando was amazingly fresh and the salad that was on it was light and was acidic to help with the richness of the tuna. The home fries were amazing as well. The potatoes were fried well and the cod was melting in our mouths as we ate it. The lemon garlic aioli as a perfect touch for it as well. I was craving West Seattle's "Seattle Fish Company" but the drive from Greenwood would have taken too long. Looked up this place and luckily there was no line this time (lunch after 1PM on a weekday). It hit the spot. We had the clam chowder (A+ / $15) and the salmon sandwich (A- / $15 / I wasn't expecting the salmon to be cold, but still enjoyed it - it was a matter of expectations rather than objective opinion). THE CHOWDER HAS SHELLS. I was super suprised to find steamers, shell and all in my chowder. It makes it quite difficult to eat on the go. Fish sandwich: very messy and a little bland. The fish had good crispy breading and tasty cod, but the tartar wasn't on the whole sandwich so some was dry and a lit leaked out the other side. Hard to eat in the car (COVID car picnic). I wanted more flavor from the tartar sauce. I didn't like the brioche bun - it is too sweet and a little harder on the outaide than I want on a fish sandwich. 3.5/5 Chowder: also a little brand. Pretty liquidy texture for chowder. A lot of potatoes and oeas inside as well as clams IN THEIR SHELLS. I don't think I've had chowder with shells in it before. It just made it harder to eat on the go as take-out. 3.5/5 Chips: salt and vinegar. The online menu just said rotating flavor and no one mentioned what the flavir was..it seemed like vinegar kettle chips. I wish I had pictures of the food, but I was too excited to take one! I haven't had a fish sandwich this whole year and was super excited to find out that Local Tide recently opened near my apartment. Local Tide started out in Pike Place Market, but established a dine-in restaurant about three months ago. I ordered the salmon ($16) and fried cod ($14) sandwiches. Each sandwich came on a buttered potato bun. Unexpectedly the salmon was slightly poached and smoked, while I expected it to be fried or grilled. It was still good nonetheless! The salmon paired very well with the pickled onions that were also served on the sandwich. My favorite of the two sandwiches was the fried cod. You get two pieces of cod topped with cheese and tartar sauce. They also serve house made chips with rotating flavors (these are actual potato chips, not fries as I had thought!). I ordered take-out, but did notice that they do dine-in. I can't give a score for the service since I didn't dine-in, but the waitress was really helpful in answering my questions! I took off one star because I do think the prices are a little high for some of the items. There was a crab roll for about $27, which from the other reviewers seemed a bit high. Overall, I would recommend coming here if you're craving some great fish sandwiches! Also make sure to check out their specials menu. I missed it at first, and saw that they had teriyaki salmon on there so I will definitely have to come back to order from there! read more

Wow, what a treat. This place is in a prime time spot in Fremont, and the food makes you quickly realize why. It's a great spot, with good vibes with an open kitchen. We ordered the salmon BLT, the rockfish bowl, and the crab roll (available only on the weekends I believe). The rockfish bowl was delicious with complex flavors, freshness from the cilantro, hints of spicy from the chili's, and the rockfish was cooked to perfection. The salmon blt was a great portion of salmon, crispy bacon (the way it should be on any sandwich) and bread toasted perfectly. Lastly, the crab roll - there was a TON of crab, buttery roll, with a lemon wedge that put it all together. Definitely coming back here, and if you are in the Fremont area I highly recommend you stop in too. High quality food, that comes out pretty quickly, with a great casual vibe. read more

We decided to give Local Tide a try after reading a great review in the Seattle Met Magazine. First let me say that the establishment itself has a fantastic vibe- a ton of local craftsmanship went into the design so kudos to the owner, who we met and what a great guy! So we decided to try a ton of food! -Dover Nuggets- SO fresh and perfectly fried fish nuggets. And the dipping sauce that came with it was incredibly flavored. - Starter Salad- Fresh and crisp, with a great variety of vegetables and a killer green goddess dressing. Highly recommend! - Salmon Sandwich- This was probably my favorite if I had to pick! The salmon filet was perfectly cooked and when paired with the brioche bun and tartar sauce and it was incredible. -Rockfish Sandwich- A totally cool interpretation of a vietnamese style sandwich. Such a flavor bomb between the fish and pork along with the herbs and toppings. -Salmon Belly Dip- Don't even hesitate, just get it! One of the best dips I've ever had. We licked the bowl clean. -Pie- We had a slice of the sweet potato pie which was an incredible end to our foodie journey. Made in house and DELISH!! I plan to become a regular here. Gotta be honest the food is fine but the pricing/value isn't great. We got four little pieces of shrimp toast for $9....I was like is this a joke? It's not like you are getting an impeccable plated, elevated dish for that price.....it's simple toast with what I'm guessing is two shrimp. The same went for the fish nuggets...cooked fine but a little light on flavor and not much of a serving. The bigger joke is that we were still hungry when we finished and it was close to a $60 meal. It was delicious! My personal favorite was the fried fish sandwhich- I could have had 2 they were so good. And the veggie sandwich is perfect alternate for those trying to save the fish.
