Steak and Cheese 10 pc. Crispy Pierogi. Sour Cream on the side.

3 Pigs Reviews Loaded Pierogi Pig 1: Immediately thought "Damn!" What a tiny, not necessarily cleanly looking hole in the wall. For the amount of orders our meal came relatively quickly. (about 10 minutes). Bought the "Steak and Cheese" 10 pcs. Honestly don't think that there were ten...didn't count them but...didn't feel like there was 10, ya know? Taste though, delicious and I mean, being a hole in the wall, you can get away with some ridiculous conversion topics. I dunno, Bang for Buck I'd say keep looking. Pig 2: Pig 2 ordered the 10 piece "Smoking Pig Roast" ($15) with the crispy pierogi option (crispy or classic). Ample pork toppings and tasted pretty good. Restaurant offered limited seating and a fast food vibe. Best as take-out food but, for a take-out styled place the prices were a bit steep for what is essentially a New York Fries "styled" pierogi poutine. Pig 3: Pig 3 ordered the 10 piece "Butter Chicken" classic pierogi ($15) could have been a little spicier, the chicken was sliced but kind of weak, when it came to portion or quantity of chicken per serving size. I eat chicken a lot and the chicken that was in this dish was good just needed more.

La Belle Poutine

I went here with my brother to get some fries, pogos (aka corn dogs, I hadn't realized that "pogo"…read moreis an exclusively Canadian term until my American friend, Karen K, pointed it out to me, lol) and hot dogs for my little nieces. I have never had a pogo in my life and have no inclinations to change that. I also don't like hot dogs, so all I tried were the fries and they were great. The fries were a bit sweet (from the type of potatoes they use) and they tasted fresh and not from frozen. I liked the texture, they were not mealy. I like that they are unsalted. I think a large was like $6 or something like that. Pogos and hotdogs are $0.99 each. My older niece who is a picky eater and had never had a pogo before, took one bite and proclaimed "I LOVE POGOS!" Lol. She ate one and a half pogos, which is a lot for her. The breading looked crispy. The hotdogs were tiny and they were steamed. The nieces rejected them so my brother and dad ended up eating them. The place is really popular; we had to stand in line for a long time. Decor is old school diner-like. It reminds me of those casse-croutes that are ubiquitous in Montreal like La Belle Province, Lafleur Restaurants, and Green Stop. Most food here is greasy and fried. If you're trying to eat healthy this is not the place to go. It's not my kind of place, but for what it is, I think it's good. It's in a plaza, so lots of free parking.

I was looking forward to trying this based on the reviews and was disappointed. Ordered the poutine…read moreand it just was underwhelming. The gravy didn't have much flavour wasn't warm enough, so the cheese barely melted. It just kind of sat there and was a bit congealed. Fries were nothing the write home about either. I was expecting a lot better based on the reviews. Maybe it was an off day who knows. The inside needs some updating, as it's kind of dark inside, they barely had any lights on.
