Wow. No words. AMAZING…read more There's no sign for Sasha, just a white sack that says poutine, hot dogs, sausages. There's seating in the back. Amazing. No words it was immaculate. Poutine had lots of gravy and cheese curds, every bite had the perfect ratio. Even with so much sauce and cheese, fries are crispy even after 30 minutes of eating. The gravy is so well flavored, I liked the bowl clean of the gravy with my sausage. The polish sausage was amazing- Smokey juicy and grilled so yummy. The bread was soft and melted so well with the sausage. I put some gravy on top of the sausage and wow. A MUST! CASH ONLY BTW! The lady so sweet and explained the different flavorings of the sausages :) SO WORTH IT! The best places are the local mom and pop shops! :)

Regrettably, I did not get poutine, but I did get a sausage and it was great!…read more I'm not normally in this area at all, especially at night on a weekend, but we were on the patio at the Laff across the street for a friend's birthday and wanted some grub with our drinks after the Laff's kitchen had closed. We walked over to this little stand, which I actually had no idea existed, to get something quick to-go. There was no line late on a Friday night. We got a few different sausages and poutines and brought them back over to eat on the Laff's patio. It had been a long while since I had a grilled Polish sausage, so that's what I got with a little ketchup, mustard, and some chopped raw white onions. The sausage was perfect, tasty, hot, and not overcooked, just what I was craving and very satisfying. There was only one person behind the counter, a young guy who was very sweet, super fast, and we were really impressed he remembered everything we ordered. They have a small menu of your standard chip wagon fare - fries and poutine, hot dogs and sausages, pogos, and drinks, plus ice cream. Great spot that's open late (until 3am I think) for before/during/after a night out at the bars.

The Long Version: I learned about this diner on Reddit and shortly after, I happened to be working off-site at a location near this diner, so it was the perfect opportunity to check it out on the way home. They were still in their soft opening when I went in early May 2025. I got a Smash Burger with fries ($12.83) for my husband and a Hot Chicken Sandwich with fries ($12.99) for myself to go. The menu said the meals also came with coleslaw but the owner advised me they ran out of coleslaw. Unfortunately, I didn't get any substitution for the missing coleslaw :( I appreciated that my fries were packaged separately so they wouldn't get all soggy with the hot chicken sandwich. The fries were tasty and had a bit of seasoning on them. They were crispy even after the drive home. My hot chicken sandwich was filled with real roasted chicken pieces, but the chicken did not taste fresh to me :( The sandwich bread was soft though and the gravy was nice and thick how I like it. My husband really enjoyed his smash burger. Since I can't eat sesame seeds, I removed the top bun and had a small bite to taste. It was really good. The house sauce had a nice spicy kick to it. The burger also had cheese, bacon, grilled onions, pickles, lettuce and tomatoes. The 2 beef patties were nicely smashed and had good flavour. I should have also gotten a burger and just removed the top bun, lol. I was greeted by Sana, the owner who was very friendly and welcoming and asked me how I learned of the place. The decor is diner-like and very casual. It's in a strip mall in a working class neighbourhood. Free parking in the strip mall parking lot. Would have been a solid 4 star experience for me, but the chicken in the sandwich knocked it down a star. Review #104 (2025)

Thought I would give Walkley Diner a try since I live close to their location. In one word…read more.. disappointing. Food: Greasy. All of their fried items taste the same. A change of oil would help tremendously, not only with the food, but the smell of the diner. I walked in to order a "walk-in" medium pizza. I essentially had to walk through a cloud of thick grease smoke. The place seemed abandoned. No one in sight. When one of the employees did surface, he seemed annoyed that I was waving the smoke away from my face. My interaction with this person while placing my order was somewhat abrupt and disrespectful. I asked for a menu so that I could select the type of pizza I wanted, and was told that they don't have a menu, just a flyer (with very limited information), I would have to select my own toppings. So I started listing off a bunch of ingredients, all of which were unavailable I asked if he had any suggestions. He said chicken. That was it. At which point, he refused to assist me any further. So I created a pizza from what they did have... chicken, onions, olives and (double) cheese. When I returned home I opened the box... what a sorry sight. It was a medium pizza, no doubt, but where was the double cheese? There was only enough cheese on the pie that could potentially cover a small, at best. I was able to uncover 6 small chunks of dried chicken, stringy sliced onions and less than a small handful of sliced olives. The tomato sauce was sparce and forgettable and the bed of the pizza was soggy, soggy to the point that the dough was starting to blend with the tomato sauce... ugh. Service: As described briefly in food. Going into more detail... slooooow, disorganized and, more than occasionally... rude. Ambiance: Filthy. They don't wash their floors when there is heavy foot traffic from customers entering after a weather event. Tables are not cleaned. I try not think of the sanitary condition in the kitchen which is roughly about the same size as a galley kitchen in a small apartment. Nothing in this diner feels warm nor welcoming... it's just there. This review is based on 2 visits to the diner. One, for smash burgers and fries, the other for pizza. I thought I would give the diner a second try, perhaps it would sway my opinion... unfortunately that didn't happen. I apologize in advance to those who may be offended my rather harsh criticism... This is just a review. If there is one positive comment to be made... their food is affordable, much cheaper than mainstream burger and pizza joints. But then again, you get what you pay for.

The Long Version: My husband and I love Farmers' Markets and since the Parkdale Farmers' Market is within walking distance for us, we go often. This year (2025) we noticed a new vendor: Tito Leo's BBQ. So we had to check it out. We got a small chicken BBQ platter with half rice and half fries ($10 taxes included). The rice is Java rice, which is rice cooked in chicken broth and turmeric. It was good and more exciting than just plain white rice. The fries were shoestring fries, my favourite cut. The chicken was chopped up BBQ chicken layered on top of the rice and fries. A tangy BBQ sauce was poured over everything. The chicken was tender and moist. I would have preferred less BBQ sauce because the dish was a little too saucy for my liking, but overall I still really enjoyed it. My husband liked it too. Service was courteous and efficient. They have a few private tables in front of their kiosk, but there's the main seating for the market too if those tables are occupied. There's also picnic tables at Parkdale Park right next to the market. We were lucky to score one of the private tables. There are a few parking spots at The Parkdale Farmers' Market. Otherwise, there's street parking, both paid and free spots in the area. Review #123 (2025)
