This was such a solid pizza spot. It was my first time trying Indian fusion pizza. If you've had…read morethe Pakistani fusion pizza at Al Raheem Grocery and Shinwari BBQ & Pizza Restaurant, it's definitely different from that.
I was in the mood for a vegetarian snack, so I got a small shaahi paneer pizza. It came with Indian gravy, butter-marinated cottage cheese (paneer), onions, and bell peppers. You have the option of spice level - mild, medium, hot, or extra hot. My husband wanted to try it, but he's usually "a mild man", as he says, and I like more heat, so I got medium spice for something in between.
The onions and peppers still had some crunch, which I really enjoyed. There was enough paneer and distributed evenly in medium-sized cubes throughout the pizza, about two cubes per slice for a small pizza. There was a good amount of mozzarella, too. There are important details for a cheese lover like me, haha. There wasn't too much gravy/sauce, but still very flavourful and nice spice, not too hot. The crust was thin but not too thin, crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. Such a great pizza!
My husband enjoyed it so much that we ordered a large butter chicken pizza. It's the same as the shaahi paneer pizza, but with pieces of chicken thigh. The chicken was very tender and flavourful, though I have to say I think I enjoyed the paneer better.
We also got paneer poppers, with six in an order. They were pieces of paneer marinated in mint-flavoured sauce, breaded with panko-style bread crumbs, and fried. They were crispy on the outside, soft inside, and also had good flavour with some spice. It wasn't heavy on the mint. It said creamy garlic sauce "onside" on UberEats, which for some reason I thought was a typo for "inside", but it really does mean creamy garlic sauce on the side. I wish I realized because I ordered creamy garlic sauce on the side with the pizza and it ended up being the pre-packaged Heinz dipping sauce that we then had two of. I had hoped it would be homemade.
We'll order from here again for sure, but I want to try one of the homemade dipping sauces next time, like truffle green onion mayo.
