More creams and lighter oaks used in the dinning room. It was a pleasant and nice change. The fam and I came here for a family get together and it was fine. I do frequent Moxies in other parts of the city frequently so the menu can get a tad tiring as its stayed pretty consistant over the last couple of years with some minor changes. I decided to try the beet salad which was new to the menu. It was large and it was topped with SO SO SOOOOOo many crispy beets, that they were all stained and stuck to my teeth and lips when I went to the restroom. I had no idea. It is not a "date friendly" salad. I also ordered the espresso martini which was $5.00. It was very potent and tasty, but it didn't come with 3 espresso beans on top which is supposed to be for luck. The hubby had the mahi mahi and I tried the mashed potatoes and they were delish. Service was to the point and not overbearing.

TLDR: Good food, nice environment, great service. Moxie's fit the bill. I've been to Moxie's before, but only locations in Toronto. They are all kind of the same, which is not a bad thing. The food is consistently good, service is attentive without being intrusive and the ambiance is modern casual. One of my friends was coming from out-of-town and we hadn't seen each other in 7 years, so we were chatting and chatting and the poor server was waiting for us to order. After several attempts she said to close our menus when we were ready to order and she'll take the cue to come over. I thought that was fantastic. And she was super patient with us. I got the Thai Chicken Salad ($25.50). I asked for the salad dressing on the side, and it came as requested. I advised her I was allergic to sesame seeds and poppy seeds and she let me know the manager will come and speak with me, as that is their practice for all allergies. The manager came and let me know that the salad and dressing did not contain sesame or poppy seeds, but there's this crunchy mix they have that they purchase but no longer have the packaging so cannot rule out contact with sesame. We decided that the best option would be to have it on the side and I could visually inspect it and decide whether I wanted to eat it or not. I appreciated their extra attention to allergies. I didn't see any sesame seeds in the crunchy mix, so I added it to my salad (I can tolerate sesame oil, just not actual seeds, so I was confident I'd be fine). I enjoyed the crunchy texture it added. The salad was mostly arugula with maybe some cilantro or other herb. The amount of chicken was very little, but at least it was lean breast meat. It had shredded carrots and red cabbage. Avocado slices, cashews and pumpkin seeds. The dressing was a creamy cashew dressing. I enjoyed the salad. I was going to get some dessert, as I love their mini desserts, especially "bite of brownie" but I was surprisingly too full. My first choice for dining out is always small local independent restaurants. However, I would never object to going to a Moxie's. In fact, I'd say of all the chain restaurants, it's my favourite. Lots of free parking in the plaza parking lot. (103)

My girlfriend and I went last Saturday and honestly I was a little underwhelmed. The burger was impressive but still didn't look like the one in the picture but besides that the burger felt like it was missing something. There was no zip, no special taste to it. I mean like it was good but a bit basic taste. Was hoping to be wowed but just wasn't happening. In a nut shell, a good burger but not a great one(taste wise). And the price for 1 Vatican burger combo and 1 bacon cheese burger combo was alil under 40 bucks. Not to crazy now a days but there are better burgers in the city. Service was good and place was clean so good job there.

I ordered the impossible burger (veg option) and the hubby asked for the spiciest burger on the menu. I forget what was recommended to him, but it had crispy jalapenos, and he said it was very hot, but good. We also ordered two fries on the side. We ended up bringing one home and reheating it later in the oven, and they were still delicious. The fries were very good, but on the saltier side. It also tasted like they were brined in vinegar before cooking? The hubby got the poutine and I did not like the gravy at all. It was a thick dark gravy, and there was no seasoning to it. I do not recommend the poutine. He liked it though. I devoured the impossible burger. It was great. Restaurant is small, and with the two of us and 2 small kids (who decided they didn't want to eat anything), the seating was a bit odd, with mostly tall tables and chairs with no backs. There were lower tables by the main entrance, but it was too cold to sit there with the door constantly opening. Most people were taking their meals to go. I'm glad I tried out Burger Priest finally. The food hit the spot.

I usually get a latte there but decided on a regular one, that was a mistake. Their food did taste good, and their chutney was still delicious but the service was a bit gruff. They weren't rude by any means but I was ignored for 10 mins just waiting to ask for a takeout box. I could tell he was a bit overwhelmed and probably having an off morning, so I didn't take it personally. But when I'm paying $30 for one breakfast bowl and a coffee, I'd expect more than 2 cherry tomatoes cut in half and a few mushrooms in it. The food is delicious but you're definitely overpaying and 50/50 on the coffee lol

All the nearby spots are reserved for the apartment dwellers in the building. Ordered a Huevo Ranchero ($16) - which came with scrambled eggs two corn tortillas with salsa, cheese, sour cream and a side order of fries. The eggs could have used some seasoning even with salsa it needed something extra A Vegan Breakfast Bowl ($14) - a mixture of tofu, spinach, mushrooms and tomato chutney - which somehow tasted to all 4 of us like onion chutney. The vegetables done good, but tofu again had just no flavour. Tofu had a spice rub all over, but it tasted like plain tofu. The Bacun strips were rice paper rolls with some attempted flavours but none came through. And two Vegan Bennies ($16) - a super grainy slice of bread topped with the same tofu, green onions, Bacun and some red pepper strips (NOT Coulis as described in the menu). If some person was having a tofu dish for the first time I think they would describe tofu as no flavour at all. We vegans know that you can do amazing things with Tofu. The home fries in the above dishes was the best - now that we could give 5 out 5. All of us had to go and get Sriracha and Ketchup from the counter to rescue the dishes. Coffee was too weak as well. When you go in and order on the counter and you get food delivered to your table. Should the restaurant still offer to tip on the machine BEFORE even we were served? The order did take a long time, the table not clean when we sat, no condiments on the table and coffee refills slow. An extra star for giving tons of vegan options

Food was only okay: dinner menu was an eclectic take on pub classics. The lamb curry wrap was quite tasty, with a yogurt sauce cutting the slight heat of the curry. It is a wonderful place for a beer and a coze. On a cold wet winter night, this almost cave like spot is perfect. This past Friday we stepped in for dinner. We ordered off the concise menu. My choice was the Lamb Curry Wrap, lamb in a curry sauce, with roasted mushrooms, and melted cheddar in a wrap, and herbed sour cream. It was delicious and came with a salad (option for fries instead if you wish) which was a perfect compliment. There is also a Specials board so check that out too. They have a nice selection of beverages: beer, wine, mixed drinks. Something for everyone. One thing I always like here is the accoustics 'bubble'. Conversation is all around me, yet I can have a great conversation in my group and not hear what any other group is chatting about. Service by the way is top notch. Attentive when you need something but not hovering when you don't. That is, someone shows up when you need them.
