The Hangover $18.99 2 eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, served with bacon poutine. And an extra side of home fries $3.99 Great sized meal for yourself but in my case to share. Had I known the bacon poutine was with the hollandaise, I would have asked if that could be an extra side instead of just extra home fries because it was delicious. The cheese in it was gooey and with the right amount of sauce. Potatoes well done - a must for potatoes in my books. I'd totally go back. I always stop into this place when I'm in Ottawa. Staff are nice and my coffee is always topped up.

After reading all the good reviews I was really excited to try this restaurant, but it was lacking. First, the coffee does not come with breakfast and it was awful, I paid $3 For super strong gross coffee. The eggs and toast were good, but the potatoes which are advertised as grilled were actually deep fried and incredibly greasy. The beans were okay, definitely canned beans, wouldn't order them again. The bacon was incredibly salty, not sure which brand they use but they should be buying reduced salt versions. The service was fantastic though, and that's where they gained some points. Overall not a bad breakfast, but not really great either.

    12oz. prime rib with horseradish

Had a great meal here a few months ago, the first time since the pandemic. I ordered the 12oz prime rib with a side of horseradish and a pint of Keith's Red. The prime rib was a little cooler than I would've liked, but cooked just right and with all the delicious fattiness that I like. People tend to comment on how pink and fatty it is, but that's how it's supposed to be, in my opinion. The vegetables and mashed potatoes were nice and hot, not really seasoned, but that was okay since the potatoes came with butter and the saltier au jus was great with all of it, same with the horseradish. I wish there were a little less onions in the veggie skewers, but there was plenty of food, so I didn't finish all the veggies or potatoes anyway. The 12oz is probably better for dinner in terms of portion, but I'm a pretty big eater and went all in on the meat sweats for lunch. My mom always if you can't finish everything, eat the meat (i.e. the expensive stuff) haha. Alexander Keith's Red went really well with the prime rib and for some reason made it feel more lunch-y than dinner-y like a glass of red wine would. Great meal, great service. If I didn't have to run off, I would've stayed longer to have a piece of house-made banana cream pie!

The place is nice, the waiter was friendly and delightful. Food came super fast. We had the artichoke & spinach dip, it was delicious with their yummy homemade pita bread. Fish & chips were also good and flavorful. The beef napoleon melt was vrery disappointing unfortunately, I ate couple of bites and I had to stop, it lacked flavor and it smelled weird, I couldn't eat it. We paid $68 plus tip. Lots of parking spaces available.

Our most recent visit was June 20, 2021 on the patio for breakfast. I currently live with my parents in downtown Ottawa. So it's a bit of a drive to Nepean, but we love heading over there. It's a relaxed, casual environment. Which works well for my family. My sister Diana has learning challenges, she also has Parkinson's, and she is celiac. The restaurant always accommodates her gluten-free needs. And I like having a filling breakfast and their meals satisfy me.

The Long Version: The Alembic Stillhouse is the restaurant/pub attached to the Cartier Suites Hotel. It has the usual pub fare like fish and chips, burgers, chicken fingers, etc. but it also has some Latin American dishes like arepas, tequenos, tostones and churros. My husband and I had dinner here and it was overall really good. I had the Arepa with Soup ($15) and added a second arepa for an additional $9. I got the Pabellon and Reina arepas. The soup of the day was tomato basil. My husband had the fish and chips ($18). I really enjoyed my arepas. The Pabellon was layered with shredded beef and feta cheese on top (the open end), and black beans and plantains on the bottom (the closed end). The Reina had the filling uniformly distributed - pieces of lean chicken breast mixed with avocado and cilantro crema. The corn meal arepa shell was crispy on the outside and held the fillings very well. I can't even decide which one I liked better because both were so good. I didn't like the tomato basil soup though. It had a cheesy note to it which I found off-putting. However, my husband loved it, so I gave it to him. My husband enjoyed his fish and chips. I had a bit of his fish and while it was crispy on the outside and moist and flaky on the inside, it had a strong fishy smell and taste that I didn't like. The fries were crispy and hot but were from frozen. Service was pleasant. The place has a pub feel. They have karaoke on Fridays starting at 8pm. We left before it started, lol. 5 stars for the arepas, 3 stars for the other food I tried, so 4 stars overall since service was good. I would get the arepas again. Street parking is the best bet (some streets have free parking and some streets have paid metered parking which is about $3 an hour). There's indoor hotel parking but it's a daily rate and over $20. My girlfriend and I went last Saturday and honestly I was a little underwhelmed. I ordered the impossible burger (veg option) and the hubby asked for the spiciest burger on the menu. I forget what was recommended to him, but it had crispy jalapenos, and he said it was very hot, but good. We also ordered two fries on the side. We ended up bringing one home and reheating it later in the oven, and they were still delicious. The fries were very good, but on the saltier side. It also tasted like they were brined in vinegar before cooking? The hubby got the poutine and I did not like the gravy at all. It was a thick dark gravy, and there was no seasoning to it. I do not recommend the poutine. He liked it though. I devoured the impossible burger. It was great. Restaurant is small, and with the two of us and 2 small kids (who decided they didn't want to eat anything), the seating was a bit odd, with mostly tall tables and chairs with no backs. There were lower tables by the main entrance, but it was too cold to sit there with the door constantly opening. Most people were taking their meals to go. I'm glad I tried out Burger Priest finally. The food hit the spot.

I usually get a latte there but decided on a regular one, that was a mistake. Their food did taste good, and their chutney was still delicious but the service was a bit gruff. I could tell he was a bit overwhelmed and probably having an off morning, so I didn't take it personally. All the nearby spots are reserved for the apartment dwellers in the building. Ordered a Huevo Ranchero ($16) - which came with scrambled eggs two corn tortillas with salsa, cheese, sour cream and a side order of fries. The eggs could have used some seasoning even with salsa it needed something extra A Vegan Breakfast Bowl ($14) - a mixture of tofu, spinach, mushrooms and tomato chutney - which somehow tasted to all 4 of us like onion chutney. The vegetables done good, but tofu again had just no flavour. Tofu had a spice rub all over, but it tasted like plain tofu. The Bacun strips were rice paper rolls with some attempted flavours but none came through. And two Vegan Bennies ($16) - a super grainy slice of bread topped with the same tofu, green onions, Bacun and some red pepper strips (NOT Coulis as described in the menu). If some person was having a tofu dish for the first time I think they would describe tofu as no flavour at all. We vegans know that you can do amazing things with Tofu. The home fries in the above dishes was the best - now that we could give 5 out 5. All of us had to go and get Sriracha and Ketchup from the counter to rescue the dishes. Coffee was too weak as well. When you go in and order on the counter and you get food delivered to your table. Should the restaurant still offer to tip on the machine BEFORE even we were served? The order did take a long time, the table not clean when we sat, no condiments on the table and coffee refills slow. An extra star for giving tons of vegan options
