I remember it being ok, but not anything I ever craved. I was recently poking around on UberEats while at my parents' house in Orleans and saw that Pita Pit had a BOGO deal for their bowls. I love the not-so-new-anymore bowl trend, and since I hadn't been to a Pita Pit in so long, I figured, why not? So I got the Small Ancho Chicken and Black Bean Bowl for $12.51 (for 2 bowls since it was buy one get one free). I ordered it for pick up and it was ready in 9 minutes. The bowls were really small and shallow, and they didn't even fill the bowl, so even at BOGO, I didn't feel like it was much of a deal, and I would have been pretty unhappy had I paid regular price. However, the taste of the bowls wasn't bad. The amount of protein was minimal, but the chicken pieces that were there were lean and tasty (not dry). The black beans were actually a black bean patty, cut up. It had black beans, corn and some grains inside. It added nice texture to the bowl. The rice was nicely cooked and the spinach, tomatoes and green peppers were fresh. The hot banana peppers were spicy and the tiny spoonful of guacamole was good. There was also a miniscule amount of grated cheddar cheese in the bowl. I asked for the sauces on the side, and my request was accommodated. The chipotle sauce was creamy and delicious with just a bit of kick. The hot sauce added more kick, lol. Service was courteous and efficient. Pickup was quick and everything was well packaged. I'm glad to see that Pita Pit branched out from their original days of just serving pita wraps. However, I feel the same way about it now as I did 20 years ago: it's OK. This location is in a shopping plaza. Same plaza as Food Basics, Kardish, Cold Stone Creamery and Saigon Pho. There's a movie theatre and a Toys R Us in the plaza too. The best broasted chicken I've ever had was at La Hoyo in Halifax which is now closed :( I'm still looking for chicken like that... The fries here are much better than at Zaki's in my opinion. The fries at Laziz are hand cut and lightly seasoned. The coleslaw here is also amazing. It's the creamy type which I usually don't like but I liked Laziz's coleslaw. The dressing is slightly sweet and they use purple and green cabbage, so it looks really colourful. There's a nice crunch to the coleslaw too. The older man who works here is very nice, but the younger guy was really indifferent towards us. The place is clean enough, as are the washrooms. There's sufficient seating and lots of free parking. It's in the same strip mall as the Mark's, Sushi Kan, and Eclipse Asian Cuisine.

The rice was the best I've had at any shawarma place in Orleans. The potatoes were really good too. They were not too oily and nicely cooked. They weren't too crispy, but still delicious. I also liked the fattouch. It came pre-dressed but wasn't too wet, oily, or sour. I also liked the generous amount of pita chips. The salad also had cucumbers, onions, and bell peppers in it. I did notice that instead of cutting the chicken off the spit by hand they have this hand-held meat shaver device. I did like that the meat was lean and not fatty.
