I went to Julucas before lockdown to do a dine in meal and ordered my usual creole pasta with a moscow mule and some calamari. The calamari was excellent, fried well to a golden brown but not burnt and was great with the red sauce. My moscow mule was spicy and well mixed. My creole pasta, with shrimp and this amazingly delicious and chewy garlic bread really hit the spot. With the generous portions, i could take some of it home! Unfortunately, i didnt give it a full 5 stars because the proper covid procedure, which is to take down customer information for contact tracing, was not taken.

I have heard rave reviews of Juluca's Bistro and have been really excited to try it, but I am rarely ever in Barrhaven. I finally made it to Juluca's recently for dinner with my husband and another couple. The food was ok in my opinion, but I was not wowed. My husband and I shared the California Salad ($16) and a medium gluten-free pizza with 3 toppings ($25). So it was totally my fault that I did not mention that I have an intolerance to sesame seeds, but the menu did not list sesame seeds as an ingredient in the salad, and I do not expect sesame seeds to be sprinkled on a salad at an Italian restaurant, like maybe at a Japanese restaurant or other Asian restaurant, or some fusion restaurant, but I really didn't expect it at Juluca's. Well, guess what? The California Salad was filled with sesame seeds! So I painstakingly picked off the sesame seeds and had a bit of the salad, but my husband had most of it. The salad was thankfully a real mixed greens salad (no filler cheapie iceberg lettuce), it also had grape tomatoes, cucumbers, avocado, pine nuts and grilled chicken. It came with a honey vinaigrette in the side. Ingredients were fresh. The avocado was nice and green, no black rotten spots. The grilled chicken breast meat was tasty, but the protein portion was pretty small in my opinion. In fact, I found the portion size of the entire salad quite small for the price (the plate was shallow and I found the salad lacked substance to it). Had I ordered this as a meal, I would not have been satisfied. The pizza in the other hand was very substantial, lol. They don't skimp on the cheese! So the gluten-free option is only available in the medium size. You pay an extra $4 for gluten-free. We built our own 3 toppings pizza: steak, artichoke and spinach. The steak was a bit too tough and chewy for my tastes. I did like how we had the option of having the spinach baked with the pizza or sprinkled on top raw after baking. We chose the former. The toppings are all under the cheese at Juluca's. This is not my preference, I'm a toppings on top of the cheese kind of girl. The crust was a bit dry, but it held together well and although I've had better gluten-free crusts, I have certainly had much worse, lol. My husband had a few beers and the one and only beer on draught was $7.50 (Beau's). Our friends had the Frutti di Mare, seafood linguine in a rose sauce ($25) and the Burger with Ceasar salad ($17). They said their meal was ok, but neither of them finished their meal. We went during stage 3 re-openings of the Covid-19 Pandemic. Although indoor dining was permitted, Juluca's only had outdoor patio dining and that is where we ate. They have a fairly large patio. They are not taking reservations during the Covid-19 Pandemic. We called a few days before to make reservations and we were told that they were not making advance reservations because they had bad experiences with people making reservations and not showing up. We were told to call the day of to make reservations. We called the day of and were then told they do not take reservations. Uh, ok. Why did the other person not just tell us that. Whatever, we got there at 5:30pm and we were the only customers there. Excellent! We had our choice of tables. Service was quick and efficient. The restaurant is on the first floor of a building. There's a parking lot shared with other businesses in the building. There are about 5 parking spots reserved for Juluca's customers.

Made a reservation on Saturday night at 730. Good thing as the place was packed! Nice to see this in Barrhaven! Very friendly service. Wifey and I shared a combination pizza (medium) and veal Parm. Our friends had a zucchini bites to start and a steak pizza. Very unique Pizza! Next time I'll try the thin crust. Parm was nice! Pasta was decent (a little overdone) and tasted fresh. There was a slight issue with one of our entrees and one of the owners (I assume) took good care of us. This is an unfortunate part of restaurant 101 but they passed the test. We had 2 drinks each and the bill was $80 something. We will definitely return.

BEST CARROT CHEESECAKE (never mind the picture - couldn't stop eating to take pictures until it was too late)

BEST CARROT CHEESECAKE! Oh my God I can't rave enough about this carrot cheesecake! It's not too sweet and has the perfect balance of sweetness and saltiness and cheesiness and moisture with intriguing texture that keeps you coming back for more (I personally don't like cakes that are boring - like vanilla or chocolate birthday cake with the same texture throughout the cake)

A very different type of pizza, a must try. Seems like a mix of cheese and perhaps a cheddar on top that crips up the whole thing. I will order again and will try to have a different one every time.

People need to try the PIZZA here!! Came here with a group of 5 friends and sat out on their new patio set up. The decor was cute and had a industrial vibe to it. The Pizza however, was amazing!!! Our group had: - Calimari - Poutine - Small Cali Pizza - Small italian job I got the Cali Pizza and it was delicious. Crust was crispy and chewy at the same time - they bake this in house in their pizza oven. Tried a slice of the Italian job, and the fig on the pizza complimented well to add some sweetness. A small pizza that came to 13$ was very filling. Other items they have include: Sandwiches, pasta dishes, burgers and ice cream!

This is my first time to this restaurant. It is located in a quiet neighbourhood. Good for family gathering. We order: honey garlic chicken wings: the wings are huge but it was too dry for my liking; Juluca's special; Lasagne: big portion... good for 2 person; Frutti di mate: pasta was al dente & the sauce was just right ; Chicken Alfredo for the kids but we found it's a little too spicy for them; Buffalo pizza (L) very big portion plus taste good...

The restaurant is cuter inside than I thought. There are some window seats for people-watching on bank st. There are also some hanging lights by the windows. The pizza crust has the perfect crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside texture. It's so good it doesn't even need any dip. I tried both the nerd pizza and the mushroom pizza. The nerd pizza had pickled onions, black pepper molasses bacon, cheese and chili Basil honey. I loved the tangy pickled onions, with the salty-sweet bacon, and the spicy honey. The combination was just perfection. I could use a little more chili though! The mushroom pizza was a white pizza with portobello mushrooms, parm, and truffle oil. The salty parm and the meaty portebello mushrooms were a good combo, but I didn't really taste any truffle oil. I felt like this pizza was good but missing a little something to take it to the next level. Overall, the food was delicious. The drinks are reasonably priced (beer, local kombucha). However, the service was mediocre. I think they only had one or two servers working the entire area on Friday night.

I live really close by but for some reason have never tried Georgie's until recently. I got some…read moretakeout for my husband and I to share. I got a Hot Turkey sandwich platter $13.75 and a slice of Donair pizza $4. They sell pizzas by the slice, but they are not displayed so you have to ask them what kinds they have. The day I went, if I remember correctly, they had 4 types: Cheese, Pepperoni, Bacon and Donair. Slices are $4 each or $5 with a can of pop. 2 slices is $8 or $9 with a can of pop, so no discount if you buy more. However, they do have a pickup discount, which is the equivalent amount to the taxes you would pay. So essentially if you pick up, they pay the tax :) The Hot Turkey sandwich platter was really good. It came with fries and coleslaw. I liked that the coleslaw was vinegar based and not mayo based. It was mostly cabbage with a bit of carrot. I enjoyed it. The fries were just regular fries but they were crispy and good. The sandwich had real turkey breast meat in it (can you believe that I once ordered a hot turkey sandwich and it was a deli meat turkey sandwich covered in gravy?!? Obviously not at this restaurant, lol). The bread was the regular white sandwich bread, but what really set this sandwich apart was the delicious peppery gravy. Man, that stuff is really good! The pizza was good too. They put toppings under the cheese here, which is not my preference, but I still enjoyed it. The donair was thick pieces and tasted more like sausage, but it was still good. The sauce has a distinct flavour to it, which I can't pinpoint, but I liked it. The crust was crispy and even though the crust was thicker than I usually like, I still enjoyed it. I liked that the slice came in a cute cardboard box. The platter came in an aluminum container, but the lid was styrofoam. I'm not a fan of styrofoam, I would have preferred a foil-backed cardboard lid. Service was friendly and I got my food pretty quickly. The restaurant is a strip of businesses along Carling Ave just west of Churchill Ave N. There's free parking at the back of the strip. There's a sign and you have to turn in before you actually see the strip of businesses (Georgie's, Sapporo Sushi, and a few other businesses). If you turn into the parking lot after the strip, that one actually belongs to a different strip mall (the one with Markie's Smoked Meat and Mr. Sub). There are signs indicating you can only park there if you are going to a business in that strip mall. Not sure what enforcement is like, but why chance it if there's also free parking in the proper place, right? Since there's a huge median along this part of Carling Ave, you can only access the restaurant if you are driving westbound on Carling. Georgie's has its main entrance on Carling but there's also a back entrance from the parking lot.

Simply put...AWESOME PIZZA…read more I have ordered from here a few times and I'm embarrassed to say I neglected to review each time before now, I was typically so hungry I just jumped right in... alas I digress. I have had a few different types of pizzas here, in the end my favourite is the cheese. Yup, straight cheese. Seems basic, but the flavour is outstanding and the dough ball to keep the box from sticking to the cheese is a classically delicious touch. I really like the flavour combinations of the cheese with the sauce puts many other to shame. If you are in this end of the town, give this place a shot, you won't be disappointed. I'll be back for sure.
