    Cheeseburger w/ poutine Combo Box.
    Burt N.

Nice spot for lunch down by the Stittsville Carp Rd. Flea Market. Lots of seating, some with umbrellas for weather cover. I ordered a cheeseburger combo with a soda and I was surprised by the HUGE size of the combo. Cheap prices are hard to come by these days especially when you get so much in return! The burger was quite nice, it had a fancy bun and handmade burger patty. (I recommend loading it up with toppings to keep it proportional with the large bun.) The poutine was huge for a side order in a combo, and it was fresh cut fries and fresh curd which was nice. The gravy was a little too salty for my taste and I found the fries a little too thin cut for how crispy they were. But overall still an edible poutine, and you won't go hungry!!

Had a family size poutine yesterday here. Overall enjoyed the poutine and the serving size was huge. Fed 5 people with some left over. Definitely a solid value. Didn't skimp on the curd and the consistency was good. Would return. Now accepts credit cards!

One of the best poutine I have eaten in my life so far (I'm from Montreal, so I have tried a lot of them!) Crispy and thin fries, perfect balance between fries/sauce/cheese curds. It's generous. You can tell they put a little love in each poutine! A must, for everyone who's serious about his poutine!!

The Original Souvlaki - The chicken souvlaki came with fries. I did not imagine it would turn out like this! But it was tasty. The tzatziki in it was awesome!

This place was a bit of a surprise to me; firstly because I never noticed it before hubby took me…read morethere on date night. Secondly - is it me? - there seem to be more "pop up" kitchens, aka food trucks around the city, especially in Stittsville and Kanata (like, not even just downtown); everything from chip trucks, to tacos, and even ribs, which can all be found up and down Stittsville Main Street. So, Hubby knows I like Greek food. He wanted pork, I wanted chicken. They don't seem to do pork skewers, so I ordered him a gyro which had pork in it. The service was friendly. The lineup was a bit long, but it moved fast. The menu was not expensive. Ok, then we got our food. The low-down is this: It wasn't expensive because it was 1 skewer of chicken on what was like a naan bread. It was very tasty, and the tzatziki was really good! But the odd part was that the menu said it comes with fries (both of these sandwiches did), but I didn't realize or understand that the fries were not on the side! I could have lived with fries on the side, but no - they were IN the sandwich, with the chicken or gyro, sauce and all. No, not for me, thanks. If I had known what questions to ask, I might have been able to order better. So, all this to say, it was OK, but I'm not in a huge hurry to go back. :-( Oh, one more thing: because of COVID and lockdown, everyone's house of prayer is closed to public in-person gatherings. The Original Souvlaki is parked in a church parking lot. Don't say I didn't warn you as you went whizzing past it!! LOL

So, I must be reasonable and know that this food is super mild and not as flavorful as I would like. Taking it home and fixing it up was the best option for me and I was craving a quesadilla. The prices took me aback somewhat. $17.50 for 1 chicken quesadilla, just under $20 with tax. Restaurant + prices. But the owner seemed nice enough, there was a small patio to wait on with tables, the Mexican music was playing from a little speaker and the food here is made to order. It didn't take too long. Maybe 10 minutes. Credit cards accepted. The owner was intuitive and put the lettuce and pico on the side for me although I didn't want to trouble him re tasking him with that but he was aware that I couldn't eat it right away. Also, it came with a small sour cream and a salsa. Kid mild. The rice was just ok. Too tomatoey not very authentic but that's ok. I had asked for no beans. After the order was placed, I learned that for $2.50 less, you can get just the quesadilla. Some gluten free options for those that need it except for the gravy, burritos and chimichangas. I'd go back to support them. Not bad for being in a Home Hardware parking lot in Stittsville!

I've wanted to try this restaurant for years, but only made it now. I love corned beef / smoked meat, but I don't eat it that often. Generally I don't or try not to eat processed food that often, which of course smoked meat is. Too bad coz I get the craving for it more often than I eat it!! There are 2 Markie's I Ottawa; the other is on Carling. This location is in a plaza with a TD bank, Shoppers Drug, a Freshii, and Willy's, among other businesses. Markie's gets a lot of take out business, but they do offer a few tables for eat-in, like your usual fast food setup. You go to the counter and choose your options (ie: no waiter service). We each ordered a large #1, smoked meat on rye, which comes with fresh fries and a canned drink, and a side of coleslaw with a pickle spear, the slaw was very good! It's a diner experience, not 5-star cordon bleu, and the food hit the spot. My 2cents: I like a denser rye bread. This bread was finally big enough to hold so much meat, but it was so soft that it fell apart as I was eating the sandwich. It's no Schwartz' but that's a mighty high standard! And this is closer than Montreal. I would go back.
