I found this place! It was on my radar and today was the day! Just head to the flea market area, it's on the lot. Unassuming truck, some seating, friendly service! I ordered a small poutine to go, what a treat! I snapped a few pics but could not wait near the garbage cans as they REALLY needed to be changed! Didn't take too long and I was on my way. $6.75. Potion was ok. Good ratio of fries to cheese to gravy. The fries were for sure chip-truck tasting. Very thin but I liked that the skins are left on. I loved the saltiness of it. Daily/weekly specials. I'll try the loaded baked potato poutine next time. Or I'll come on a Tues when they have pad thai on the menu. Cool Truck! read more

We finished the Diefenbunker Museum and decided to have a light lunch before heading over to the Aviation Museum. Got on yelp to see what's on our way and found this little gem with positive reviews. Normally I am not the one who likes to eat "outside" but since it's a vacation I was like what the heck I'm not going to give up on good food, and we are so glad I didn't insist. Reasonable price, good portion, gravy gone through all the fries to the bottom of the container... I mean honestly what more can you ask for in a poutine? Well let me tell you, the variety of toppings (I had the shawarma chicken and hubby had the all meat), there is a mountain of meat and sauce and gravy, and that's one of the reason why I don't have any photos to proof to you as they are so delicious that we started digging in enjoying the food before we remembered to take photos of the food. But let me tell you, if you are in the area, or not even in the area but you love poutine, drive here and give it a try, you won't regret it! Oh did I mention the owner is super friendly and there's a cute patio outside for you to sit and eat instead of eating in the car as that's something I will definitely not do and because of the patio, I gave it a try and am so happy I did! read more

Fantastic chip truck. I wouldn't consider myself a connoisseur by any means but this is the best one I've been to in Ottawa. The fries are great, they're not shy with the gravy and cheese on the poutine and their hot dogs and burgers are very good too. Price is right and the staff are friendly. Nice spot for lunch down by the Stittsville Carp Rd. Flea Market. Lots of seating, some with umbrellas for weather cover. I ordered a cheeseburger combo with a soda and I was surprised by the HUGE size of the combo. Cheap prices are hard to come by these days especially when you get so much in return! The burger was quite nice, it had a fancy bun and handmade burger patty. (I recommend loading it up with toppings to keep it proportional with the large bun.) The poutine was huge for a side order in a combo, and it was fresh cut fries and fresh curd which was nice. The gravy was a little too salty for my taste and I found the fries a little too thin cut for how crispy they were. But overall still an edible poutine, and you won't go hungry!! read more

Had a family size poutine yesterday here. Overall enjoyed the poutine and the serving size was huge. Fed 5 people with some left over. Definitely a solid value. Didn't skimp on the curd and the consistency was good. Would return. Now accepts credit cards! read more

Almost drove by Pong's because it's a food truck near a garden centre.. perhaps that's part of their French fries secret though... they make handmade fresh cut fries from potatoes on-site. Owner is really friendly. I arrived 10 minutes before closing and he was more than happy to whip up a few orders for the family. Was it good? Definitely. Fries cooked perfectly, fantastic brown gravy and cheese curds that had a bit of a squeak. Next time we have a poutine craving, no doubt we'll be going back to Pong's. read more

One of the best poutine I have eaten in my life so far (I'm from Montreal, so I have tried a lot of them!) Crispy and thin fries, perfect balance between fries/sauce/cheese curds. It's generous. Fritzys Fries under new ownership. Now called Pong's Fries Fries here are thinner and crunchier just the way I like it! Sizes are generous and the staff are very friendly! One thing I would suggest if you order a combo and upgrade your fries to a poutine is to ask them to put your burger, hotdog, sausage or whatever you're getting in something separate cause if you don't the gravy makes them mushy, and messy, making it hard to enjoy! Very interesting take on poutine! Fries are quite thin but very potatoey-tasting. They are not as crispy as usual chip truck fries. Gravy is average, and curds are fresh. I tried the lemongrass chicken Thai one, which was tasty. They have different flavours, depending on when you go! read more

This may be all you need to know: cheese curds and gravy part way up *and* on top. There's nothing worse than poutine that doesn't get melty because you were too impatient to let it sit for a bit. At Pong's you don't have that problem because curds and gravy are dumped in halfway, which get nice and melty as you eat. And this is the default - no nickel and diming customers with upgrade charges. Good job, Pong's! Prices are fair with lots of size choices. A large poutine was $7 and was more than I can eat (for comparison, a medium is $6). If you're not a fan of skinnier fries, you may be turned off, and it's really the only criticism I can levy. Skinnier fries don't hold the ingredients as well as a thicker fry in my humble opinion. While I haven't tried, Pong's offers daily specials and a good sized menu that extends beyond fries including burgers (beef and chicken), dogs, chicken fingers and more. There's seating in front of the stand and a few of the tables have umbrellas to beat the heat. I've been a loyal S&G guy for years, but I'm thinking I have a new favourite place in town... Great poutine! The curd is high quality and fresh, the fries are hand-cut and perfectly cooked and the gravy is tasty too! The portions are pretty decent as well. I used to work for Smokes so I know my poutine and you can't ask for much more. The only thing keeping them from a fifth star is more variations. I'd rather their traditional poutine however, over some of the big chain poutines that try to mask lousy product with a bunch of toppings. read more

would rate 2.5 this place is great and would rate higher if other ingrediance would not end up in a classic poutine. Many times have been surprised by some hidden ingredient like onion, celery, chives...ect that should not be in in classic poutine, ( even if its only 1 or 2 pieces ) this wasent a one off.... time many time that has happened. there chesse is too close to there ingridentes and the fall into the cheese..so once then take some cheese the ingrediance that fell into it comes with it and get put on your poutine... yuk yuk.. other than that its realy good food read more
