SuzyQ has hands down, THE best donuts in town! Are they pricier than most? Probably. HOWEVER they are worth every penny. They are larger than any donut I've seen out there and they are light and fluffy- not cake based. They offer a plethora of flavours that rotate seasonally and yet still keep their basics all year round. They have a wonderful assortment for vegans that non vegans wouldn't even know the difference. Truly AMAZING. If I had to make a complaint it would be that they simply aren't open 24 hours! It would also be nice to see an outdoor seating area however I understand due to the location not possible.

Wow wow wow, the taste of the Boston crème haunts me in the best way! It and the cinnamon roll were particularly amazing. Everything we tried was delicious and decadent, this place is a must when we are visiting Ottawa.

SuzyQ Doughnuts is a welcomed addition to the east end of Ottawa. It's newly opened location on St.Laurent intrigued me to grab half a dozen donuts. Easy to order at the window of its location, (covid times) or you can place an order online for pickup. I went with the salty caramel, D'OH!nut, cookies and cream cheese, boston cream, dirty chocolate, and smores. After taste testing them all, the cookies and cream cheese was my fave as well as the hubs. It was not too sweet, and I loved the cream cheese frosting. Def recommend grabbing this one. Second contender was the salty caramel, followed by boston cream. I did find the dirty chocolate my least fave. Some of the donuts are very sweet, so I wouldn't recommend eating all these donuts in one sitting like I did, lol. The doughnut was very fresh. We got a couple that were freshly made and the dough was still warm. Amazing!

Super delicious! I've mostly only tried donuts from big chains like Tim's, Dunkin's or Krispy Kreme and can safely say Suzy Q beats all the others out of the game! We came here from Montreal and having read a lot of positive reviews, I figured this was worth a try. Our group of 5 loved every bit of these donuts. They are so fresh, soft, generous and unique. The flavors and toppings are amazing - I particularly love the Smores variety which had a huge fluffy marshmallow in the center, Hershey's chocolate chunks and graham cracker bits all over the top. The Oreo cream cheese is another close favorite. These are truly rich and decadent, not like your average fast food stop. At $3.95 a piece, they are definitely pricier but very worth it when you're looking for a satisfying treat every now and then. There is a discount if you buy 6 or a dozen though.

Suzy has definitely done it! I have had my fair share of doughnuts including one of my faves (Crave out of Oshawa), Suzy Q absolutely nails it! Every doughnut is nice and elastic/chewy without being too much. The toppings, glazes, and fillings are the perfect level of sweetness without being overly sweet! Personal faves include the orange/cranberry fritter that is perfect for tearing apart, the wundercrunch, lamington that has a raspberry jam filling topped with coconut shavings, and the Nanaimo had some really good cream filling! Now to wait for them to make their way to Toronto :)

Wasn't much of a donut person until I tried out these guys. Mainly due to the praise my friends constantly have them My fav is by far the london fog, it's a simple flavour but it packs a punch. The pickup is really convenient you just go up to the window and select however and whichever donuts you want! They change quite often but they tend to always have the staple flavours Even has some decent vegan options! I recommend going first thing in the morning so you don't get much of a lineup And during holidays like valentines they have cute heart shaped donuts!

When you are asking for a doughnut spot in ottawa the one that always comes up is Suzy Q. Just a staple when it comes to amazing doughnuts here in ottawa. So many amazing different flavours. Keeping the popular doughnuts year round and cycling through variations of flavours throughout the year. My favorite is the Boston cream and the apple fritter. Just so perfect. This is your sign that you need a doughnut

Love Suzy Q!! Best donuts in Ottawa, I find that their donuts have improved so muchhh . Suzy Q doesn't stick always with the same flavours , so love that everytime I visit they always have a few different ones to try . Omg! The cronuts here are delicious! I had a cronut from Holey Confections for the first time at…read morethe location in Stittsville. And while it was good, it wasn't soooo delicious. It had multiple layers, but they weren't fluffy and moist like at the Orleans location. The ironic thing is that at the Stittsville location, I bought it mid-day and paid full price. The cronuts I had at the Orleans location were part of the end of day sale, yet they tasted fresher than the ones in Stittsville. So my brother heard that the Orleans location had an end of day sale where after 4:30pm they sell off the remainder of their cronuts for $25 a half dozen. The donuts are $5.80 each regularly. When he arrived at 4:30pm he found out the sale actually starts at 4pm, but it was ok because they still had donuts left. He got a PB&J (Peanut butter and jelly), Raspberry Lemon, Cinnamon Sugar (they call it Sinnerman), Sprinkles, PS no L (Pumpkin Spice no Latte) and Vanilla (they call it Anastasia, which I initially thought was strange, but I think it might be a reference to 50 Shades of Grey, which I never read nor watched but have heard more than enough about it from my friends, lol). The PB&J, Raspberry Lemon and PS no L are all cream filled. The other ones don't have any filling. I had a quarter of each of the filled ones and they were fantastic. My favourite was the Raspberry Lemon one. I loved the tart lemon curd filling. I didn't try the non-filled ones. Cronuts are part croissant and part donut and all delicious, lol. I definitely recommend this Orleans location of Holey Confections. Since my brother bought them, I can't comment on service or ambiance, but I know they are located in a strip mall and there is free parking on site. (2)

My husband and I selected 4 special donuts: oreo nirvana, boston creme, maple bacon, and lemon ricotta. Pickup was straightforward--the location had plenty of parking at 8 am, and I popped in, gave them my name from the order, and was shortly on my way home with the donuts! The donuts were pretty good but not particularly spectacular. Oreo Nirvana: The cake had a great texture, but it didn't taste as chocolatey as I had expected. Still an enjoyable choice. Boston Creme: My husband said it was good, so I'll take his word! Maple Bacon: My absolute favourite. The balance of maple flavour and bacon was perfect--the flavours harmonized wonderfully, instead of competing. Lemon Ricotta: My husband rated it a 7/10 but noted that the ricotta was a little wet and that he wished the lemon flavour had more punch. Overall, it was a good experience. I would happily support another fundraising event with Maverick's Donuts, though I might otherwise look elsewhere for satiating my personal donut cravings.

Life is all about balance, right? Lol. I got the Pêche et Fraise (Peach and Strawberry) which is a jelly doughnut covered in powdered sugar. Doughnuts are $4.50 each. My husband got the Tour de Chapeau (which translates to Hat Trick) which is a yeast doughnut with chocolate glaze, covered with chocolate crumbs and drizzled with white chocolate. It is not a filled doughnut. We shared both doughnuts. I always prefer filled doughnuts, but I was a bit disappointed with the filling of my doughnut. It tasted like pureed peaches and strawberries true to its name, but the texture was like applesauce which wasn't yummy, at least in my opinion. I would have preferred either more of a jelly texture or a peach and strawberry-flavoured custard. So surprisingly, I enjoyed my husband's doughnut more. The Tour de Chapeau was so fluffy and soft. The chocolate toppings were sweet and decadent. The crumbs gave it a nice subtle crunch. Service was courteous. There was only one person working and customers before me ordered specialty drinks so the wait was a bit long. They also sell ice cream, in addition to doughnuts, cookies, sandwiches and coffee/tea. There's indoor seating as well as outdoor seating. They have 2 arcade machines, Ms Pac-man and Mortal Kombat. They also had some boardgames available for customers. I saw Battleship and Connect Four. Lots of parking available in the shopping plaza parking lot. (153)

They seem to only have locations in smaller, less cosmopolitan cities (not sure what that says about Ottawa, haha, or maybe they are starting to explore the bigger markets). Even though they've been around for almost 50 years, growing up in Toronto, I had never heard of them before. They remind me of how Tim Hortons used to be, like in the 1990s. That's a compliment, haha. Donuts were bigger, and the food was better. I got 2 Rise 'n Shine Specials for my husband and I. They come with a "brekwich" or a breakfast bagel and a hashbrown. The brekwich combo is $5 and the bagel combo is $6. I was going to get the brekwich, but they said they ran out of the brekwich bread (this was 1pm on a Sunday), so I got the bagel. I got a bacon and egg, and a sausage, cheese and egg. They asked me what bagel I wanted and pointed at the choices on a sign, at I first selected the cheese bagel but then noticed that there was an extra $0.70 charge for that, so I changed my choice to the plain bagel. I also got a Bismarck ($1.59) which was a Boston Cream donut with vanilla icing drizzled on top. The bacon and egg bagel came with iceberg lettuce and a slice of tomato. I liked that it had some vegetables. The vegetables were fresh and everything tasted good. The sausage, cheese and egg bagel did not have any vegetables. So I was a bit disappointed with that. However, it still tasted good and I liked the mildly spicy kick to the sausage. The hashbrown was unremarkable. It tasted like the Cavendish hashbrowns you get frozen from the grocery store. The Bismarck was good. I liked that it was big. Bigger than Tim Hortons donuts these days. Closer in size to how big Tim Hortons donuts were in the 90s. However, the donut could have had more cream in it. The amount of cream was a bit stingy in my opinion. On another visit I got the apple fritter ($1.99). It was a bit too dense and hard/crispy for my tastes. I liked the Bismarck better. The ambiance is fast food, but feels like how Tim Hortons used to be. They also have egg salad sandwiches and chicken salad sandwiches, and different soups like the Tim Hortons of days past. If you are nostalgic for the Tim Hortons of days gone by, I'd recommend checking out Robin's Donuts. This is a standalone store. Free parking is available in their parking lot. (32)

I'm trying to cut down on sugar and I don't normally have a sweet tooth, but of course, I've…read moresuddenly been craving sweets. Figures! Maybe because I know I should be cutting back. We always want what we can't have, right? I decided to look into Carb Free Baking Co., who were behind the Carb Free Cafe that used to be in the Byward Market. I had eaten there a few times while I was doing keto and it was always great. I know they have places where you can buy their products, such as Fitness Depot at Trainyards and Johnny Farina's downtown, but they're a bit of a drive for me, so I was happy to find out they deliver. I think you can also pick up in Nepean during certain hours. For others watching their carb/sugar intakes, there's no nutritional labels on the products (some are on the website), but there's a list of common ingredients on the website, which includes almond flour, coconut flour, whey protein powder, all nuts, erythritol as a sweetener, eggs, cheese, coconut and MCT oil, vanilla, cocoa, lemon juice, and various sugar-free syrups. All products are sugar-free and gluten-free, and 5 carbs or less per serving. Though it doesn't always specify how much, note that fat content is high, as they're meant to be keto-friendly (i.e. high fat, low carb). So don't judge me, but I went a little crazy with the purchases. I bought 4 slices of banana nut loaf (2 orders of 2 slices each), a 4-pack of maple-pecan cinnamon buns, cookies 'n' cream cake (2 slices per order), and a variety pack of donuts (6 donuts). Don't worry, I shared with my husband :) We put them all in the fridge right away so that they wouldn't get too warm and melty. I also stuck two slices of the banana bread in the freezer for future cravings. I warmed up one of the slices just slightly as a rich and delicious breakfast that kept me full for quite awhile. The maple-pecan cinnamon buns were wonderful as a warm breakfast or snack as well. They're smaller but decadent. The dough is just a bit salty, as I believe they use fathead dough (made with eggs and mozzarella), but it wasn't too salty and balanced the sweetness of the icing. The cookies 'n' cream cake was so good, even though I don't even normally like cake in general. Not too sweet, great balance between the chocolate chips and cookie parts and the cream. The husband really enjoyed this one! The donut flavors change weekly, but the one we got had Dynamo Nanaimo, Lemon Drop, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Hazelnut Crunch, Chocochip, and Strawberry Fields, all pretty self-explanatory. Notably, the Lemon Drop quite tart and refreshing (also comes with a slice of fresh lemon on top), and I liked that the Dynamo Nanaimo came with a piece of a Nainaimo bar on top that was really good, but the Chocolate Peanut Butter was my favourite. It also came with a piece of a chocolate peanut butter cup on top that I could've easily eaten a ton of! The Chocochip was definitely the plainest, the Hazelnut Crunch had a hazelnut in the middle but otherwise didn't have much hazelnut flavour, and the strawberry fields was nice but faint as well. Since they're specialty products, they're definitely not cheap and rang me up just over $100 (including tax and $9 delivery). Even still, I was happy to pay it! They're delivered the next day by Gopher, a third party, and I think some if not all are previously frozen, but it didn't affect quality whatsoever. Everything was so good and really satisfied my cravings for awhile (I swear I didn't eat them all at once).
