Looooooooove these donuts!!! They were amazing. The savoury Everything bagel donut was a surprising hit. It's filled with a light cream cheese filling. These yeasty donuts are really light and chewy and MASSIVE. Will definitely grab a box again next time i'm in Ottawa.

Oh Suzy! Why are you so tasty?! What I appreciate about these doughnuts is that they taste light and are very delicious. I have had 3 today... who is counting calories? Not me! They do not taste as processed as other doughnut shops. A no frills straight to the point Boston cream donut is the one I like the most. They range from 4-6 dollars so be prepared. There are also vegan options. I keep the donuts for a max of 3 days until they start to taste stale.

Made a stop here because of our friend's recommendation! I love a good doughnut so I was contemplating getting two. I still have regrets on not buying two so maybe take my experience as a warning and buy more than one if you're on the fence about buying one or two haha My friend said that the one she ordered most from here is the -[RASPBERRY CASSIS DOUGHNUT] $5 I was concerned it would be too sour but the level of sour and sweet actually balanced each other out SO well. In addition to that, the doughnut itself was not too dense so I felt like I could have easily devoured two. Unfortunately, I only ended up buying one but there is always next time. I will 100% come back to try more flavors, and you should too!

Suzy Q only does take out since the pandemic. Eating or sitting at the restaurant is not an option. The store make fresh batch of donuts daily and those are the only type you can order, unless you call in advance and request another type. The donut is cake like. The price might look steep for a donut but it's more like donut cake. Normally we split each donut I'm halves or quarters so we have room to try different flavors. The indegridents they use is premium and you can taste that. It has always been super fresh everytime I buy from them. There is usually a lineup but it's worth the wait. Also cute shops around to walk around. Street parking only (but it's free and it's 90 min long).

I was hoping they had their lemon meringue this round but sadly not. That's ok too. The doughnuts from here are TRUE doughnuts with the soft fluffy texture and fancied up with their rotation of flavours and their HUGE in size! Our cashier was friendly, helpful and patient while we picked out our flavours. There was a nice selection of flavours to choose from. The service was also very efficient which I always appreciate.

This is an ottawa classic spot, and a great cornerstone to the ottawa community. The flavors are always interesting and have such a wide array of masterful combinations. It is in an area of ottawa that isnt the most accessible without a car, but would be well worth the trek. Would recommend skipping brunch and eating multiple donuts as your meal with a coffee next time you have a weekend sleep in

If you want amazing doughy goodness In your life look no further! They always have some new flavours to try. But I had the banana pudding, s'mores, Oreo cheesecake and the Original! Great donuts :)!!!

Omg! These donuts are delicious! My brother and sister-in-law brought a dozen SuzyQ donuts to my house for Easter and they were a big hit with the whole family. I had a sixth of every flavour (except for Sugar Munkii because it was finished before I had a chance to sample it, lol), and while I liked some more than others, they were all fantastic. My favourite were the London Fog and Spicy Pineapple. The London Fog had a nice tea flavour and tasted just like the drink. The Spicy Pineapple was part tart and part spicy and all delicious. The Boston Cream had the richest and fluffiest cream and a thick layer of chocolate. The Yuzu Twist looked really plain, but had a potent citrus punch. The Bumbleberry and Raspberry Cassis had strong berry flavours, and the Mocha Truffle had a good coffee flavour to it. The Maple Bacon was sweet, salty and smokey. There was one donut that I couldn't quite make out the flavour, and I'm not sure what it was called. It had a lemony cream and some crunchy bits (?) My least favourite were the Bloop which tasted like Fruit Loops and was too sweet, and the Toasted Coconut, which was too "coconutty" for me, lol. Overall though, these donuts live up to the hype. So fluffy and soft. I believe that all SuzyQ donuts are yeast donuts (they don't have cake donuts). They have some vegan varieties. Donuts are $12 for 4, $15 for 6, or $28 for 12. The store is where The West End Well Co-op was for a short period of time. There is only street parking, which can be tricky to find depending on the time of day, day of week, season, and weather.

I will seek out an artisanal doughnut in just about any city I visit. One bite of Suzy Q's Salted Caramel shot it to maybe the top of my list. An all-time doughnut: moist, light, gooey caramel, perfect salt addition. Wow. Other highlights included the Raspberry Cassis and London Fog selections. The doughnuts themselves are just extraordinary.

LOVE THIS PLACE. This was definitely an amazing find and it's a neighbourhood gem!! Gourmet donuts in a variety of flavours, and each one that I've tried - wow I don't think I can say anything negative about them! We went on Family Day and luckily it was open, and there was a bit of a line - took about 30 mins - but their donuts you can tell they are freshly baked every day. Beautiful presentation and I love that they have both classic and unique flavours! Their donuts are also not extremely sweet - which sometimes I worry when I'm eating such decadent sounding donuts lol. I tried the raspberry cassis, dirty chocolate, rocky road, london fog, maple bacon and cookies and cream. My favourites were the raspberry cassis and the london fog - amazing flavours!! My hubby loved the maple bacon and dirty chocolate. But generally you honestly can't go wrong with any of their flavours - all of them overall were fabulous! I also love how they painted the front of the shop in a bright yellow - definitely can't miss the building! $3 for a donut or $12 for a 1/2 dozen. With all the flavours you want to try, why would you get just one anyway ;) I brought mine all the way back to Toronto after leaving Ottawa with these babies and they were still good after we ate them in Toronto! Definitely MUST try this place if you're ever in Ottawa - I guarantee you won't be disappointed!

Super fresh, very yummy donuts.. not oily and very unique flavours. I don't have a favourite yet I always come here and explore new ones! Service is friendly , the space is nice and cozy. The only negative (beside the calories :p) is the parking.. so plan to park further and walk few steps

SuzyQ makes some super solid donuts. They make mostly yeast risen (think vanilla dip), compared to more of a cake style donut (think old fashioned), which I love! They are super creative with their toppings too! The London fog is always a favourite. It can get busy, especially on the weekends, so go early!

Have you ever wondered if there was such a thing as "gourmet" donuts? Did you think Tim Horton's or Dunkin' Donuts had the last say on what is/isn't a delicious donut? Have you ever assumed the only way to get better donuts was to go to the annual fair or to a mega theme park with all the bells & whistles? If you answered yes to any of the above.... you need look no further! My favourites are the Cinnamon Toast Crunch and the Matchaconut When you enter SuzyQ's.... the delicious bakery smells hit you like Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo's light speed jump into the First Order's Mega-class Star Dreadnought. The quantity of tables and seats is an optical illusion though, like Luke Skywalker's last stand against Kylo Ren, when a couple of families and a group of friends come in, it's already a full house! Unlike Tim Horton's or Dunkin' Donuts, they only have donuts here. Look at the uploaded photos and you can't help but know that these donuts are a bazillion times more delicious. There's an assortment of cold drinks, including Artisan Sodas and a variety of kombuchas. But the main highlight is the hand crafted hot beverages, the flat white and lattés pair very well with the gourmet donuts. It's like upgrading from 1080p to 4K HD.... After coming here once, you will never want to eat another donut from Tim Horton's or Dunkin' Donuts again.

It had multiple layers, but they weren't fluffy and moist like at the Orleans location. The ironic thing is that at the Stittsville location, I bought it mid-day and paid full price. The cronuts I had at the Orleans location were part of the end of day sale, yet they tasted fresher than the ones in Stittsville. So my brother heard that the Orleans location had an end of day sale where after 4:30pm they sell off the remainder of their cronuts for $25 a half dozen. The donuts are $5.80 each regularly. When he arrived at 4:30pm he found out the sale actually starts at 4pm, but it was ok because they still had donuts left. He got a PB&J (Peanut butter and jelly), Raspberry Lemon, Cinnamon Sugar (they call it Sinnerman), Sprinkles, PS no L (Pumpkin Spice no Latte) and Vanilla (they call it Anastasia, which I initially thought was strange, but I think it might be a reference to 50 Shades of Grey, which I never read nor watched but have heard more than enough about it from my friends, lol). The PB&J, Raspberry Lemon and PS no L are all cream filled. The other ones don't have any filling. I had a quarter of each of the filled ones and they were fantastic. My favourite was the Raspberry Lemon one. I loved the tart lemon curd filling. I didn't try the non-filled ones. Cronuts are part croissant and part donut and all delicious, lol. I definitely recommend this Orleans location of Holey Confections. Since my brother bought them, I can't comment on service or ambiance, but I know they are located in a strip mall and there is free parking on site. (2)

My husband and I selected 4 special donuts: oreo nirvana, boston creme, maple bacon, and lemon ricotta. Pickup was straightforward--the location had plenty of parking at 8 am, and I popped in, gave them my name from the order, and was shortly on my way home with the donuts! The donuts were pretty good but not particularly spectacular. Oreo Nirvana: The cake had a great texture, but it didn't taste as chocolatey as I had expected. Still an enjoyable choice. Boston Creme: My husband said it was good, so I'll take his word! Maple Bacon: My absolute favourite. The balance of maple flavour and bacon was perfect--the flavours harmonized wonderfully, instead of competing. Lemon Ricotta: My husband rated it a 7/10 but noted that the ricotta was a little wet and that he wished the lemon flavour had more punch. Overall, it was a good experience. I would happily support another fundraising event with Maverick's Donuts, though I might otherwise look elsewhere for satiating my personal donut cravings.

Life is all about balance, right? Lol. I got the Pêche et Fraise (Peach and Strawberry) which is a jelly doughnut covered in powdered sugar. Doughnuts are $4.50 each. My husband got the Tour de Chapeau (which translates to Hat Trick) which is a yeast doughnut with chocolate glaze, covered with chocolate crumbs and drizzled with white chocolate. It is not a filled doughnut. We shared both doughnuts. I always prefer filled doughnuts, but I was a bit disappointed with the filling of my doughnut. It tasted like pureed peaches and strawberries true to its name, but the texture was like applesauce which wasn't yummy, at least in my opinion. I would have preferred either more of a jelly texture or a peach and strawberry-flavoured custard. So surprisingly, I enjoyed my husband's doughnut more. The Tour de Chapeau was so fluffy and soft. The chocolate toppings were sweet and decadent. The crumbs gave it a nice subtle crunch. Service was courteous. There was only one person working and customers before me ordered specialty drinks so the wait was a bit long. They also sell ice cream, in addition to doughnuts, cookies, sandwiches and coffee/tea. They seem to only have locations in smaller, less cosmopolitan cities (not sure what that says about Ottawa, haha, or maybe they are starting to explore the bigger markets). Even though they've been around for almost 50 years, growing up in Toronto, I had never heard of them before. They remind me of how Tim Hortons used to be, like in the 1990s. That's a compliment, haha. Donuts were bigger, and the food was better. I got 2 Rise 'n Shine Specials for my husband and I. They come with a "brekwich" or a breakfast bagel and a hashbrown. The brekwich combo is $5 and the bagel combo is $6. I was going to get the brekwich, but they said they ran out of the brekwich bread (this was 1pm on a Sunday), so I got the bagel. I got a bacon and egg, and a sausage, cheese and egg. They asked me what bagel I wanted and pointed at the choices on a sign, at I first selected the cheese bagel but then noticed that there was an extra $0.70 charge for that, so I changed my choice to the plain bagel. I also got a Bismarck ($1.59) which was a Boston Cream donut with vanilla icing drizzled on top. The bacon and egg bagel came with iceberg lettuce and a slice of tomato. I liked that it had some vegetables. The vegetables were fresh and everything tasted good. The sausage, cheese and egg bagel did not have any vegetables. So I was a bit disappointed with that. However, it still tasted good and I liked the mildly spicy kick to the sausage. The hashbrown was unremarkable. It tasted like the Cavendish hashbrowns you get frozen from the grocery store. The Bismarck was good. I liked that it was big. Bigger than Tim Hortons donuts these days. Closer in size to how big Tim Hortons donuts were in the 90s. However, the donut could have had more cream in it. The amount of cream was a bit stingy in my opinion. On another visit I got the apple fritter ($1.99). It was a bit too dense and hard/crispy for my tastes. I liked the Bismarck better. The ambiance is fast food, but feels like how Tim Hortons used to be. They also have egg salad sandwiches and chicken salad sandwiches, and different soups like the Tim Hortons of days past. If you are nostalgic for the Tim Hortons of days gone by, I'd recommend checking out Robin's Donuts. This is a standalone store. Free parking is available in their parking lot. (32)

I'm trying to cut down on sugar and I don't normally have a sweet tooth, but of course, I've…read moresuddenly been craving sweets. Figures! Maybe because I know I should be cutting back. We always want what we can't have, right? I decided to look into Carb Free Baking Co., who were behind the Carb Free Cafe that used to be in the Byward Market. I had eaten there a few times while I was doing keto and it was always great. I know they have places where you can buy their products, such as Fitness Depot at Trainyards and Johnny Farina's downtown, but they're a bit of a drive for me, so I was happy to find out they deliver. I think you can also pick up in Nepean during certain hours. For others watching their carb/sugar intakes, there's no nutritional labels on the products (some are on the website), but there's a list of common ingredients on the website, which includes almond flour, coconut flour, whey protein powder, all nuts, erythritol as a sweetener, eggs, cheese, coconut and MCT oil, vanilla, cocoa, lemon juice, and various sugar-free syrups. All products are sugar-free and gluten-free, and 5 carbs or less per serving. Though it doesn't always specify how much, note that fat content is high, as they're meant to be keto-friendly (i.e. high fat, low carb). So don't judge me, but I went a little crazy with the purchases. I bought 4 slices of banana nut loaf (2 orders of 2 slices each), a 4-pack of maple-pecan cinnamon buns, cookies 'n' cream cake (2 slices per order), and a variety pack of donuts (6 donuts). Don't worry, I shared with my husband :) We put them all in the fridge right away so that they wouldn't get too warm and melty. I also stuck two slices of the banana bread in the freezer for future cravings. I warmed up one of the slices just slightly as a rich and delicious breakfast that kept me full for quite awhile. The maple-pecan cinnamon buns were wonderful as a warm breakfast or snack as well. They're smaller but decadent. The dough is just a bit salty, as I believe they use fathead dough (made with eggs and mozzarella), but it wasn't too salty and balanced the sweetness of the icing. The cookies 'n' cream cake was so good, even though I don't even normally like cake in general. Not too sweet, great balance between the chocolate chips and cookie parts and the cream. The husband really enjoyed this one! The donut flavors change weekly, but the one we got had Dynamo Nanaimo, Lemon Drop, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Hazelnut Crunch, Chocochip, and Strawberry Fields, all pretty self-explanatory. Notably, the Lemon Drop quite tart and refreshing (also comes with a slice of fresh lemon on top), and I liked that the Dynamo Nanaimo came with a piece of a Nainaimo bar on top that was really good, but the Chocolate Peanut Butter was my favourite. It also came with a piece of a chocolate peanut butter cup on top that I could've easily eaten a ton of! The Chocochip was definitely the plainest, the Hazelnut Crunch had a hazelnut in the middle but otherwise didn't have much hazelnut flavour, and the strawberry fields was nice but faint as well. Since they're specialty products, they're definitely not cheap and rang me up just over $100 (including tax and $9 delivery). Even still, I was happy to pay it! They're delivered the next day by Gopher, a third party, and I think some if not all are previously frozen, but it didn't affect quality whatsoever. Everything was so good and really satisfied my cravings for awhile (I swear I didn't eat them all at once).

So Lokma sells Turkish donuts called Lokma, lol. They are very similar to the Greek donuts…read more(loukoumades) that Mr. Puffs sells. I think they have an affiliation with Bergham (formerly called Centrale Bergham) because these two businesses seem to be co-located, not just at this location, but from what I see, at their other locations (in Montreal) as well (this one on Bank Street is the only Ottawa location). Anyway, the lokma are are deep fried balls of dough. They fry them when you order them, so they are super fresh. You can choose a variety of sauces and toppings. We got a small order (12 pieces) for $6.99. With the small order, you can choose up to two flavours. We got the Belgian milk chocolate and the strawberry syrup. Since some of the lokma were a bit smaller than the others, we got some extra pieces. Whoo hoo! Lol. The lokma were tasty. Slightly crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. I found the chocolate topping to be a bit too sweet. I liked the strawberry syrup a lot more. It was less sweet. I have had the loukoumades at Mr. Puffs on Greber Blvd in Gatineau, and I personally liked those better (crispier on the outside, chewier on the inside, and the flavours were better (apple cinnamon was so delicious, and the had blueberry too, 2 flavours that Lokma didn't have)). However, Mr. Puffs is across the river in Gatineau, a place a rarely go to, so Lokma is more convenient for me. Service was efficient. Like I mentioned earlier, Lokma is co-located with Bergham. Their ordering counters are side by side and they share a common seating area. Both businesses are in a tiny plaza, along with a Tim Hortons. There is free parking in the plaza.

If you're craving desserts definitely check out this place in Ottawa. I did takeout but noticed…read morethere are a few tables indoors. It took about 15mins until I received my order but considering it was fresh i'll take it!! So delicious, I can't wait to come back and try different flavors!! Price point was very fair too!
