Been a customer of Suzy Q since day 1 when they opened in Hintonburg. Yeasty gourmet goodness that Ottawa has been needing for a LONG time. And, for those of you that think that Tim's is good, you NEED to stop here. The welcome addition at this location is a parking lot. That omission at the Hintonburg location made stopping there a bit difficult. We do other groceries in Bells Corners on a weekly basis, so I can see that a more regular stop to get our carb fix. Plus, supporting local small business is the icing on the - er - donut!

Hands down awesome donuts and got even better now with this west end location! Plenty of parking. It's hard to miss since it's a middle window and just a window for pick up! I heard there were lines on the weekend . I was lucky to pass by during the week no line up

    Yum!

TL;DR/The Short Version: Small Tim Hortons in Westboro. Very…read morelittle seating. Mostly for takeout. Great staff. The Long Version: This Tim Hortons opened up in Westboro to little fanfare on December 21, 2024. I have mixed feelings because when I first moved to the area it was filled with mostly small independent businesses, and with time, the big multinationals have moved in and pushed the little guys out. This specific location though, was a Dairy Queen, so in this instance, just trading one big company for another. I just feel the landscape of Westboro is changing and the opening of a Tim Hortons in the neighbourhood could be a sign of the big conglomerates taking over. The rents are skyrocketing so the small businesses are getting priced out and only the big guys can afford to stay/move in. I don't know, that might be a commentary about bigger issues for another time. If I put all that aside though, having a Tim Hortons in this neighbourhood has its advantages. You can get quick inexpensive food. Tim Hortons as a brand does have a special place in my heart since I used to hang out at Tim Hortons a lot as a teenager, since there was one just by my highschool. Admittedly, the quality of the food at Tim Hortons as a whole has gone down significantly since my highschool days though. This specific location is great, in comparison to other locations presently. It's just a bit small. The only seating they have is 2 small round tables each with 2 chairs. It's mostly for takeout. It's bright and clean. Staff are pleasant and cheerful. And they'll do little things like draw a happy face on the lid of your cup. Their steeped tea is delicious. I like it with a lot of oat milk and they make it creamy and delicious every time. The only thing is they don't have honey as a sweetener, even though it's listed as available on their app, but I've found that this is not uncommon, as I've had this issue at many other locations as well. I was going to rate this location 4 stars, but the staff have won me over, so 5 stars :) Street parking only. Review #50 (2025)

They seem to only have locations in smaller, less cosmopolitan cities (not sure what that says about Ottawa, haha, or maybe they are starting to explore the bigger markets). Even though they've been around for almost 50 years, growing up in Toronto, I had never heard of them before. They remind me of how Tim Hortons used to be, like in the 1990s. That's a compliment, haha. Donuts were bigger, and the food was better. I got 2 Rise 'n Shine Specials for my husband and I. They come with a "brekwich" or a breakfast bagel and a hashbrown. The brekwich combo is $5 and the bagel combo is $6. I was going to get the brekwich, but they said they ran out of the brekwich bread (this was 1pm on a Sunday), so I got the bagel. I got a bacon and egg, and a sausage, cheese and egg. They asked me what bagel I wanted and pointed at the choices on a sign, at I first selected the cheese bagel but then noticed that there was an extra $0.70 charge for that, so I changed my choice to the plain bagel. I also got a Bismarck ($1.59) which was a Boston Cream donut with vanilla icing drizzled on top. The bacon and egg bagel came with iceberg lettuce and a slice of tomato. I liked that it had some vegetables. The vegetables were fresh and everything tasted good. The sausage, cheese and egg bagel did not have any vegetables. So I was a bit disappointed with that. However, it still tasted good and I liked the mildly spicy kick to the sausage. The hashbrown was unremarkable. It tasted like the Cavendish hashbrowns you get frozen from the grocery store. The Bismarck was good. I liked that it was big. Bigger than Tim Hortons donuts these days. Closer in size to how big Tim Hortons donuts were in the 90s. However, the donut could have had more cream in it. The amount of cream was a bit stingy in my opinion. On another visit I got the apple fritter ($1.99). It was a bit too dense and hard/crispy for my tastes. I liked the Bismarck better. The ambiance is fast food, but feels like how Tim Hortons used to be. They also have egg salad sandwiches and chicken salad sandwiches, and different soups like the Tim Hortons of days past. If you are nostalgic for the Tim Hortons of days gone by, I'd recommend checking out Robin's Donuts. This is a standalone store. Free parking is available in their parking lot. (32)

The layers look really cool. It's more of a cronut. The donut/cronut I got wasn't cream filled, it just had a chocolate glaze with graham cracker dust sprinkled on top and a marshmallow cut in half on the top drizzled with caramel. I would have liked it more if there was a generous dollop of marshmallow fluff on top or something like that. It didn't taste particularly S'mores-like to me. I'm glad I tried it, but it's a bit too spendy for me personally. However, if you have the funds and like cronuts, I would recommend Holey Confections. Staff were friendly and efficient. The donut shop is co-located with Honey Cafe. There is seating inside and a few picnic tables out front. There are 2 parking spots in front of the shop/cafe where you can park for free in their private lot. I was lucky to snag one, but if they are occupied, it's street parking only.

I work right across the street from this location, so there's not many places I can go to for my lunch break (and trust me, I'll eat about anything during my hectic 8-hour shifts). Unfortunately, this Tim Horton's makes me want to start packing my own lunch, due to their horrible customer service. The manager (or I think), named Terry was really rude to me two days in a row. On Tuesday at around 4 pm, I had requested my usual, a Steak and Cheese Panini. She told me with a rude tone that they ran out of the steak, so I was looking at the menu for another option. She seemed very agitated, while she stomped on the ground with one foot, (there wasn't anyone behind me). So, I decided on the Ham and Swiss, she said they ran out of bread as well. She never indicated to me that they hadn't had any bread before I took the time on deciding, from my short 30 min break. Feeling rushed by Terry, I settled for the Ham and Swiss on a bagel. The sandwhich was slammed on the counter for me to pick up by another worker, and once I opened the package, the ingredients had fallen out of place, with the bagel not cut-through properly. It was one, big, sloppy mess! On Wednesday (yesterday), at around 12 pm, I had come back to order the Steak and Cheese Panini before my work. Terry greeted me again, and I had politely asked if they had the Steak and Cheese Panini. She broke out with the attitude again, and said that they always have the Steak and Cheese. I mentioned to her that yesterday, that she had personally told me that they had ran out of the Steak. She unapologetically said that they don't have the Steak and Cheese at night. I mumbled that 4 pm wasn't night time, under my breath, while she gestured for me pay. I had gotten the chicken noodle soup along with the Steak and Cheese panini, with chipotle sauce. This has been the third time that I haven't recieved a roll of bread with my soup, but I didn't bother asking for one. As for the sandwhich, it was fairly good, but the chipotle sauce seemed watered-down. Overall, I have to say that I am not impressed by the service at this location. I hope it improves soon, or they will start losing customers.
