Lukomedes - pistachio, white chocolate, Nutella, peanut butter
Richard S.

Mr. Luko is a new business Just south of Hunt Club on Bank. They specialize in Lukomedes. Which are delicious and the different toppings are fantastic as well as they have a variety which will be loved by all. We choose the pistachio, Nutella, white chocolate and peanut butter. All very good but the pistachio and Nutella were are favorite. . These are made fresh to order so it does take some time to prepare. Just be aware. . They do have donuts as well but do go quickly. Our favorites are the Boston Creme and the pistachio filled donuts. . This is a place you do need to check out as I am sure it will win you over

Have been wanting to visit this spot and we were in the area. The nice thing is there is a seating area, small but convenient! The staff were quiet friendly and patient with our kids that were rubbing airing! Loved their decor and inviting space. The dessert was a bit oily. I can taste the oil! Maybe they need to change the oil sooner. The dessert itself was crunchy and nice. Was looking forward to trying their pistachio flavour but felt it was a coloured white chocolate!

Box of 30 loukoumades, pistachio / chocolate caramel / Nutella

We visited on a Saturday afternoon and there was a steady stream of customers. Didn't have to wait long to order, but it takes about 10 minutes to prepare the loukoumades. There is some seating so you can wait indoors. We ordered the strawberry avocado drink. It was very thick and creamy - very fresh and topped with fruit slices, nuts and honey. Delicious and not too sweet. We also got a medium box of 30 loukoumades. With this size you get to choose 3 toppings. We picked Nutella, chocolate caramel, and pistachio. They are made very fresh once you order and are worth the wait! They are larger then a typical donut hole, and crunchy - similar texture to a beaver tail. They are very hot, so best to wait a few minutes for them to cool! I found the toppings all tasted very similar (very sweet) so next time might try something lighter like the cinnamon. The donuts also looked delicious, but we're almost all sold out (they must be good!) The staff was kind and clarified what was included in the drink. The mural is nice, but it's pretty small inside, so wouldn't plan on staying longer then the wait to get the food. There are a few seats near the window which are a nice spot. We had no trouble finding parking in front of the store, even though it's in a small area.

They have some seating available, including floor cushions. There is a sign that states limit to one hour when busy which I can understand. We arrived shortly before the post Iftar rush. It got very busy very quickly. Staff seemed to be overwhelmed as they get through all customers. We waited to have our order taken but sat down when they were busy. Eventually we placed our order and waited. Since we only got an adani chai and kunafa, we got our items quickly. The Adana chai was cooked well, it was creamy and flavourful. We got sugar sticks $.75 the concept it great, however, the stick breaks very quickly leaving your drink incredibly sweet so make sure to not leave it in there if you want a somewhat sweet tea. The kunafa was $12 for a piece. This was dissatisfying, it appeared to be re-heated because that was definitely not a fresh kunafa. It was dry and around the edges. We only had a few bites and left it. Overall, They have a large selection of drinks to choose from, and sandwiches. It appears to be incredibly busy during Ramadan but I will definitely come back to have the tea again.

I got takeout and got the Liver Platter $14.15, which was liver with onions, bell peppers and chili peppers. It came with Tanoor bread, which is a flat bread. The liver was piping hot and very flavourful, but some pieces were a bit tough with chewy pieces I couldn't eat. I was disappointed that the bread was not warm, just room temperature, but it was soft and chewy and still ok. The Liver Platter is their most popular dish. The inside of the cafe is nice. There are some regular tables, some high tables and some low tables where you sit on cushions. Those tables are pretty but they were occupied, so I couldn't take a picture for y'all. There's a live bird in a cage in the cafe, a musical instrument on the wall and other cool decorations. My visit was during the Covid-19 Pandemic and mask mandates were still in effect. However, I noticed that one of the people working there (I think he's the owner, bald guy) was interacting with customers at a distance of less than 6 feet (not behind plexiglass) while not wearing a mask. The young guy sweeping the floors was wearing a mask (and he wore it the entire time I was there), but the bald guy wasn't when I entered the cafe. As I was waiting for my food, more people came in and at that point he put on a mask, but it was so loose, I could see nose. This is what I observed. The cafe seems cozy and I like the decor. I may consider returning once the Pandemic is over. The cafe is in a little plaza (same plaza as Pizza Hut) and there's free parking in the shared parking lot.

I thought it was the Arrow & Loon Pub but don't recall if it went all the way to the corner of Bank St or not. Anyways, this new spot is pretty spacious and like the other 3 Drip Houses, has a nice vibe. All the Drip Houses seem to have their own and slightly different vibe. This location is the most spacious, feels a little like the Somerset location but spacious like the Parkdale spot. I ordered a coffee and the staff are super friendly. Got my coffee and the staff didn't have the cream out so helped me out a bit. There are a handful of tables inside, a line of window seats that look out to Bank St as well as a large table that looks to seat 8-12 people as well. In the summer there is a patio that is pretty nice. I didn't catch how many seats were out there. Like a couple of the other shops, cool camera gear, lots of plants and good music is always playing. There are 1 or 2 washrooms here. We were here for a few hours to catch up and people watch. There seems to be a lot of regulars already as the staff and some people knew each other by name already. They all seemed like they'd be back soon. I know I'll be back soon.
