Cute place, I wasn't sure what I would find but I found a lovely lady behind the counter that cheered my day up. She was lively and made me a fantastic non-dairy latte that was fantastic. There was not a lot of pastries, maybe I should have come earlier. But I loved the set up and how comfy the place was. It was colorful and there was a wide range of drinks available. I keep forgetting to take a photo before eating pictured: London fog, strawberry rhubarb tart The London fog was way too sweet and syrupy, and I was pretty disappointed that it was made with bagged tea and not loose leaf tea. The tart was good, but I think it was a bit overpriced. The decor of the place is really nice, it gives the vibes of your aunt's living room if that makes any sense. My husband and I stopped by 3 Sisters Bakeshop today for a little bite to eat. We loved it! I was really looking forward to trying their beef panini, but unfortunately since we arrived 1 hour before closing they were all sold out. So we both got their chicken panini ($5.95). The chicken panini contained real chicken breast (not deli meat), tomatoes, arugula, cheddar cheese and cranberry sauce. It was really delicious. The bread was crusty on the outside and had a good amount of chew on the inside. It was a substantial sandwich. I could barely finish it. Ingredients used were fresh and the flavours blended well together. Before we left I noticed that they had macarons ($1.95 each)! So I had to try one. I got the pistachio one. I ate it before I could take a picture (sorry), but it was really pretty and very delicious. The macaron pastry itself was great, nice and chewy on the inside with a slight crunch on the outside. It was definitely fresh, not stale like at some places. The filling was a little too translucent and too "caramely" and not "creamy" enough in my opinion, but other than that it was great. I would still get them again. Overall, 3 Sisters Bakeshop is a cute little place with shabby chic decor and a homey feel. It's in a plaza with a TD bank, a small Middle Eastern grocery store, and some other stores. There's a small parking lot with free parking. read more

Wonderful bakery tucked away in Kilborn Plaza. My daughter was taken there by friends several times, and came home raving about it. After an outdoor skate in the area, decided it was time to check it out for a post-skate hot chocolate. Glad we did! Although the emphasis is on gluten containing baked goods, there are gluten free options - which we were happy to see. Giant brownies and cup cakes (not gluten free!) are wonderful to look at and reports back from taste testers (13 year old girls) both came in as delicious! I went for the merangue with a creme brule type topping. Loved it. The hot chocolate is to die for - hand made using real chocolate, with about 8 toppings you can choose from - chocotate chips, butterscotchchips, marshmallows, peppermint swirls to name a few. (Grab a spoon so you can get every last drop of topping out of your cup. Oh, yeah - you can choose from dark, milk or vanilla hot chocolate. They also sell breads and other goodies - I'll discover more as I return again. The people in the store were all wonderfully welcoming - and knew their regulars by name. First time coming here. I tried many times before but the time was not updated and whenever I would try to go in it would be closed. Now that I know their schedule I will go more often and bring my friends there too. The staff is friendly , they currently have a patio open which is nice due to covid and after corona maybe they will allow indoor seating again. A hidden gem in Alta Vista! If you live in this area, you will soon realize that there are not very many small businesses or family owned restaurants. I walk past this place a few times and made a mental note to check it out. When I finally had a chance to try it, I soon became addicted, everything is delicious! Try their lunch sandwiches, they are to die for. They use the local Art-is-in. bread to make their sandwiches. They also have an amazing selection of desserts. I have to say every time I've tried something different it's always been delicious. I love their brownies and Keylime tart. I have to admit that sometimes when it gets busy they don't seem incredibly organized on the other side of the counter. It has gotten better over time. It looks like they are just getting used to serving a larger customer base. If you're in the area, it's a must! read more

I can't say enough about 3 Sisters! It's a great atmosphere the moment you walk in. Great music, the sunshine is usually pouring in from the windows brightening the store, and couples, friends and family are together at tables contently eating and drinking away. You'll soon be greeted by one of the lovely ladies that works there. The food is always excellent. Many options for those that have special dietary needs - gluten free, vegan. I highly recommend the grilled panini with the nut Burger! The gourmet hot chocolates (milk, white or dark) are made with big chocolate chips that are melted and mixed with hot milk - I will never have a better hot chocolate than at 3 Sisters! The chocolate dipped macaroons are also great. 3 Sisters is a great addition to the mall. I've lived in the area for 10+ years and a friendly bake shop fits in so well. A great spot to stop in for a morning coffee, and maybe a small baked treat! Or maybe you want a cake or a bunch of cupcakes for a special event. You could stop in after work to grab a baguette, or a quick dinner option like pizza. And of course who could refuse some ice cream on a hot summer day?! read more

I have become incredibly picky about my baked goods -- I like them freshly baked, wholesome, and to taste like heaven. 3 Sisters delivered on all these fronts and more! My first visit to their bakeshop was the Sunday morning before Halloween. The whole place was tastefully decorated and incredibly full for such a small area! There were families, young couples, and older patrons alike -- and everyone seemed to have a smile on their face. I waited patiently and enjoyed looking around while the family ahead of me was helped. I really loved how adorable all the goods on display looked! Delicate yet meticulous -- simply irresistible. Let's just say that I'm going to need to plan an infinite number of visits back because I definitely want to try one of everything! The carrot cake cupcake that I ended up deciding to purchase was large (about 1 1/2 the size of your regular cupcake), but much more than fairly priced at $2.75. In the past, I have paid double for cupcakes of the same quality, so I appreciated their pricing very much, but would have gladly paid more (and I very rarely say that!). I have never tasted a better carrot cake -- most tend to have a little too much butter or have their insides clump in an odd way. This cupcake was fluffy and smooth. The outsides were sticky and not crunchy or hard (a true sign of perfect attention to cooking time and freshness!). The icing was just sweet enough, not too thick, and didn't have that odd grainy taste that you sometimes get with icing. I plan to make many visits back -- if not for the baked goods, then for the amazing gourmet hot chocolate bar or fresh bread that they also offer. One of the owners was working -- on a Sunday morning (a true sign that the business means very much to her!). It's easy to see where the 3 Sisters' passions lie, and I'm proud to say that my passion lies there as well. I am from the neighbourhood, but I would venture farther for the enjoyment of their heavenly goods as well. A certain must-visit for any cupcake lover!! read more

When we're looking for a treat we head to the 3 Sisters. One of my daughters is gluten free so it can be a challenge to make sure she doesn't feel short changed in the baked goods department. Going to this bakery keeps everyone happy. Me included when i see the variety and it is all so delicious. And I've sampled enough to be able to say that. This winter we tried the hot chocolate and I don't think I have had better. It is prepared with good quality real chocolate that is melted in steamed milk. You can choose from white, milk, and dark chocolate. The children's size is both generous and won't make you faint when you see the price. read more

This is my favourite local bake shop! They have amazing baked goods (full sugar, dairy-free, gluten free and vegan). I adore the rockie blondie, the Euro caramel nut tart and the cowboy cookies! They serve lovely sandwiches and soup and also have lemonade, ice cream and milk shakes in summer. Their hot chocolate in winter is fabulous - choose from milk, white or dark and a variety of toppings. I appreciate the kid sized serving option. They also stock Les Fougeres dinner entrees and other take-home meals. Warm, friendly service and a bright, cheerful little cafe feel. read more
