Unique interior set up. Nice staff, quick service and good coffee. The place is clean and love those wooden tables and chairs.

The shop was not busy on a weekend morning. The shop is brightly lit, they have different seating options and the service was friendly. There is also wifi and cups for water. I got the iced blueberry latte, which was beautiful but did not have a strong blueberry taste.

Great cafe. Love the atmosphere. A nice selection of pastries and team and coffees. Comfortable setting although cozy. Also a nice selection of merch.

“Don't get there much, but I do enjoy the large open space with bike stuff in the back and coffee shop up front.”

The Art House Cafe - Southwest Chicken Wrap. $10.95

Came here a few times on a trip to Ottawa and had consistently good cappuccinos. Croissants were okay, I wouldn't go out of my way for the bakery selection, but best place in the neighborhood for a friendly cup of coffee.

It's in a converted old house, so there are so many rooms and nooks and crannies, lol. They have a small patio out front and a larger patio on the side. I imagine people like Leonard Cohen and Joni Mitchell in their early years hanging out in places like the Art House, to give you an idea of the ambiance ;) I grabbed a breakfast sandwich and a lunch wrap to go. The Southwest Chicken Wrap ($9.85) was really tasty. It had pieces of chicken, rice, black beans, cheese, and corn (which I picked out, lol). It had a bit of a spicy kick, but I'd still consider it mild (or at most on the milder side of medium). The breakfast sandwich was an English muffin, cheese, egg and bacon. I like that it was real cheese and not like a processed Kraft Singles kind of cheese. Very tasty. Staff are super chill and friendly. I'll need to come back sometime to hang out. Street parking only.

The cafe is connected to the Queens Crafters and Antique Market, but is semi-private. The actual cafe area has quaint seating and is very aesthetically pleasing. Finally...the gelato is incredible. I had the fudgy roman turtle in a waffle cone and it was unlike any gelato I have ever had before. There were lots of nuts and the flavor was extraordinary. My children had fruit flavors and the vanilla bean. All of which were delicious.

I tried the chocolate cake and the icing just didn't hit the way it should've for a shop that's so well-known, it looked great but the flavour wasn't what I was hoping for. I also tried their cannoli. It wasn't bad at all, but there's definitely room for improvement. The filling was decent, but I found myself wanting a bit more richness and that classic creamy punch you usually get from a great cannoli. The shell had a nice crunch, but overall it just didn't wow me the way I expected. The place itself is cute and the display looks amazing, but for the price, I thought the desserts would stand out more. I'd maybe give it another chance, but it wasn't the mind-blowing experience everyone talks about.

This place is rather small, so large groups would not fit, but our group of 12 people fit at two of the bigger tables. The decor was beautiful and the ambiance casual. The variety and quality of the pastries was impressive as was the presentation. Some of my friends got the stuffed croissants while I got the delicious strawberry cheesecake and a cappuccino. Other's got the pistachio filled croissants. Some of the pastries looked like real and whole fresh fruit, true works of art. Of course there were huge cookies, muffins, cream filled horns, and other items I had never seen before. They had a sign displayed offering customers the passcode to use their Wi-Fi. I'd love to return sometime!

They are my favourite Italian pastry. So I had to try it at the newly opened Dolci Sapori. They just opened in August 2024 in the space where the short-lived Pho Bo Le was (it was the Asia Pacific restaurant before that, and where Hung Sum relocated to before it closed for good). They've really converted the space into a beautiful cafe. They had lots of pastries and sandwiches too. However, I had my heart set on the sfogliatella, so that's what I got. It was $4.80. The outside was flaky and crispy and the filling was rich and creamy. It was fantastic! And it was a good size too. My husband and I shared it and it was the perfect snack. Service was courteous. They were fairly busy. Most of the tables were full. I am thrilled to have this new bakery in the neighbourhood. We walked there, but I think there might be limited parking at the west side of the bakery (previous businesses had a few spots there reserved for their customers). Otherwise, there's street parking.
