We went to equator coffee Saturday morning. It wasn't overly busy and the service was quite quick. There is plenty of seating and large windows for people watching with delicious coffee. We paid $18 for two large Americanos, one croissant and one apple fritter, which I thought was a tad pricey. Excellent coffee spot with lots of windows and plenty of seating. It seems to be a popular place to work judging by the number of people with laptops. WiFi is free and reliable. There's gluten free baked goods available as well as standard - we tried the lemon blueberry loaf and the chocolate chip walnut muffin - both were fresh and delicious. There's a wide variety of milk alternatives available including lactose free milk - which you almost never find. Public parking garage nearby but no parking on site that I can see. Views on the war memorial across the street and a handy location in central Ottawa. read more

Great coffee shop with friendly staff and great coffee and other beverages. My wife and I shared a tea or cider and a coffee along with their free water as we were thirsty after a day of touring the art museum and the Senate . Good amount of seating but was busy before show we did not attend. The hours seem to be later on show nights. read more

There is an Equator coffee inside the National Art Centre, located on the ground level. It is clean, with roll blinds, tables and chairs with natural light on 2 sides. Service is good. :) even the treats are good. the coffee yummy . read more

If I could give 1/2 stars, this would be a 3.5 for the location and coffee: This is a solid additon to the NAC. You can get a good coffee and a treat then sit and watch the world go by at Elgin and Queen. The space is lovely - although I do wish they would put in some indicator or a queue line so that the line doesn't wind through the table spaces... who wants to look at someone's butt while sipping coffee! Seriously, there is lots of room to put the queue along the counter out towards the lobby. Another bonus of this space: You can go find a quiet spot elsewhere at the NAC - many wonderful spaces in the re-designed NAC lobby. Staff and a bit hot and cold - something the manager may wish to work on. Would be nice to see staff look like they wish to be there. Really, this drags my rating down, the lack of great consistent customer service is so notable. Would I return? Yes Would I recommend? Yes read more

Great spot to sit and enjoy some excellent locally roasted coffee in the downtown area. Love the wrap around windows. Views of some pretty impressive elements of the city and an oddly shaped intersection that makes the traffic flows different to watch. The staff are friendly and happy to help with questions. I tried a dark roast and was happy with the flavour and acidity level. Parking was a chore, but now that I know where the shop is in relation to the garage doors, it'll be much easier next time. read more

The pastries and coffee are both incredible. Super pleasant place to hang as well. Walkable from the park and in a cool neighborhood.

Coffee with a view! Smooth coffee ( apparently locally roasted) in a great location. National art center. Facing the Parliament buildings and the national memorial. Listening to bag pipes as they changed guard for the memorial. A great start in the morning. Especially if you are not rushed. read more

I got the most delicious cappuccino here this morning! My co-worker introduced me to this gem and I am so happy she did. The cappuccino was so smooth I could have drank 3 more lol. I have only ever been to the Almonte location since it was handy when I lived in Kanata and it's really handy because I have moved to Almonte. I like that the coffee is organic, fair trade, and roasted on the premises - I love the days when Equator is roasting beans because the air smells like heaven on Earth. This is one very excellent place to buy coffee beans. read more

Equator has fantastic coffee with great pastries in a beautiful and convenient space. I'd label myself a Grade B+ 3rd wave coffee snob, and equator easily matches the quality of Verve or Ritual in the Bay Area. read more
