Returned for an encore performance; no disappointments! I go out of my way when I come from the States to enjoy some hand-crafted java-love here. If you want quick-turnaround, get-in get-out coffee, that is what Starbucks is for. I prefer to wait for my handcrafted coffee and hand-made breakfast treats.

Cute spot with a nice atmosphere. I got the oat latte and it was pretty good! They also sell their coffee beans and a lot of coffee appliances and gadgets. They even sell their branded t shirts and cap! The cleanliness of the tables can be improved though

Really cute spot, I'm excited to have finally stopped in! I was a bit overwhelmed by the extensive menu, so upon recommendation I tried the turmeric latte, and it was so good! I love turmeric everything so, that helps. They have lots of other options including affogatos and milkshakes. I like that they give you a number for your order so that you can find a seat and they bring it over. Really neat, it just feels like such a warm and friendly place. I'm happy that there's a small parking lot in the back, that really takes some pressure off, especially when a winter visit means that snow is making street parking scarce. Overall a great experience. I look forward to coming back and trying out more of their items!

A colleague had told me that this coffee shop made her all-time favourite coffee in Ottawa, so I had to try it myself, and it did not disappoint! The shop is on an off-road in Westboro, so it's fun to browse around before/after and take a walk. I got a latte and an espresso milkshake. The latte was very well made; no bitterness, slight sweetness, and rich taste. I was really impressed, and already want to come back! The espresso milkshake was a treat, but it wasn't too too thick, so (hopefully) not too fattening! The inside of the store is super cozy, spacious, and has lots of space; it was quite full the entire time I was there (a few hours). They don't have that much of a selection of baked goods, so more homemade treats would make the place even better! Definitely coming back for some well-made coffee drinks. Next time I'll try the plain coffee to see what it tastes like!

This is a really cute coffeeshop that's very spacious in the Westboro neighbourhood! With lots of tables and comfortable seating, free and fast wifi, this place is fantastic for meeting or if you want to get some work done! I got their Moroccan mint tea and vegan wrap. Both were great and you can always refill the tea pot with hot water to have multiple cups of tea.

Served a medium size, medium-roast coffee that was about 3/4 full. The picture was after I added milk. Brownie was good (unlike the service)

I've been into Equator Coffee on Churchill approximately 15 to 20 times. It's not uncommon to wait for service while the staff finish a conversation amongst themselves, but the coffee is good. Here's an overview of my most recent experiences: A month ago I met someone there for a meeting and the music was so loud, it was difficult hear each other talk. Also, the internet didn't seem to be working on that particular day so we left. Last week I stopped in for a medium roast coffee and I was told it would be about 5 minutes to make a new batch, so I changed to a dark roast. I thought it was unusual to let me know they were all out after I had ordered and paid. This morning I picked up a medium coffee and the cup was only 3/4 full after I added milk. I thought that was a little odd, but I also ordered a brownie which was fresh. When I paid for my order by Interac I was prompted to leave a 15% tip, which I did, but frankly I've yet to experience anything that resembles good customer service. Overall I feel like the staff expect customers to feel thankful that they are allowed into the premises. It wouldn't hurt to smile or say thank-you to a customer every once in a while.

This is my favourite coffee shop in Westboro. It is nice to go somewhere with such a great atmosphere and a great selection of drinks, coffee and gluten free snacks. The prices reflect the quality that you get and I am pleased by the service everytime I go in. It's a great spot if you're looking for a nice, warm atmosphere for a date or even to go read a book. There are always lots of people in there but it never feels too crowded to relax. I love this spot and I would be sad if I had to return to getting coffee from other places! Keep it up!

I'm a huge fan of Equator Coffee. I have been previously been going to their location in Almonte where they roast their own coffee beans, but this was my first time at the location in Westboro which I like even better. The decor is modern with a cute marquee sign and was filled with trendy people working or taking a coffee break, and it had a very hip vibe. My flat white was delicious, and the late art was nicely done. I'll be returning without question!

There's a lot of different drinks you can get, the food menu looks a little limited at the moment but they're working on it. They're also working on a liquor license as well. Here's a pic of the donut coffee. The donut is really dense at the bottom but light on the top. There's also some Nutella or similar spread inside the donut. I'd say, I might get this again as they're willing to put any drink inside. I found the dense part of the donut heavy, so donut tops only for me! Hopefully they expand the food options, will be back though.

Another brilliant idea. Plenty of street parking, kindness and positivity. Thanks for a lovely experience

My current city also had a named café called Cloudforest, so, we thought it would be fun to stop in and warm up after the significant February snowstorms. I was impressed to see such a cute space inside of a store, or vice versa. The merchandise being sold was not interesting to me, but we were indeed excited about the coffee and pastries. Upon ordering, we decided to split the iconic Nanaimo Bar, which was cold and wrapped for freshness. I ordered a cappuccino, and my sister ordered a matcha latte. We sat ourselves in the dining-in area, which was warm, cozy, and semi-private. I love a tight seating area, since cafés are like a third space. It's very hygge! When the drinks were delivered to us by the nice staff. we sipped, chatted, and warmed up. However, my sister, who drinks matcha often, was disappointed in her drink. The matcha to hot water ratio was too high, so the drink had a grimy/chunky vibe. I confirmed my taste. My cappuccino was fine, especially since they made it to order European style. I would return! I would also recommend the staff place a water jug and glasses out for customers. We noticed a few customers have issues trying to get water.

The space is small with just a few tables at the front by the window. I like the vibe and the staff are very friendly and nice. I've had the Creamy Dill Chickpea Wrap ($8.50) here and while the flavour was great, it was way too oily/greasy. I don't know what it is with sandwiches/wraps from cafes in Westboro, but I have the exact same complaint with Equator Coffee across the street. The sandwiches and wraps are full of oil and grease :( Anyway, my hands were literally dripping with oil as I was eating my wrap. Thankfully it was to go and I ate it at home because it was super messy, lol. The chickpeas were firm, so I suspect they are from dried instead of canned, so I did like that. The carrots were crunchy too, which added a nice texture. I expected more of a dill flavour and I wouldn't have described the sauce as "creamy" but rather "oily." The flavour was really good though, lots of spices, so not bland at all. I've also had the brownie. It's dense and very rich! It's covered in icing sugar. Too dense, rich and sweet for me, but my husband enjoyed it and I can see how others would as well. I have yet to have the coffee or tea here, which is their forte. I suspect the food plays second fiddle to their drinks. So I'm going to go with 4 stars in good faith, even though I would rate the food I had as 3 stars. However, the cafe is cute and the staff were great, which counts for something ;) Street parking only.

I thanked him and advised him that I was actually looking for food now and was about to leave, but then he said it was ok that he could make my food now. How nice is that, eh? I ordered 2 half chicken dinners. So the price was $13.55 each and I was prepared to pay this, but it turns out they were having a buy one get one free offer, which wasn't advertised anywhere, but hey, I took it. Awesome! So you get to chose your sauce for the chicken. I got Original, which is spicy, and I got my husband the Medium Sweet, since he likes less spicy than I do. The chicken came on a bed of rice with vegetables. The wait was about 35-40 minutes. The food smelled so good on the car ride home, lol. The Original sauce is somewhat sour, but the spices in it give it a more unique taste. The Medium Sweet sauce was, well, sweet, which I prefer over sour, but it was less unique, as I feel like I've had similar sauces before. I did like the spiciness of my sauce though. It packed a nice punch. The flavour profile of the Original was unlike any sauce that I have tasted before, and I love trying new things, so I liked it for that. I would love the spiciness of the Original, but the sweetness of the Medium Sweet. The chicken was tender and juicy. The rice was just ok IMO. It tasted a bit dry. It was rice with carrots, corn, peas and green beans. Seemed like a frozen vegetables mix. Service was very friendly and courteous. The restaurant is in the basement of a low-rise with other businesses in it. Betsi Chicken is inside D'Afrique Restaurant and Bar. TL;DR/The Short Version: Delicious bubble tea at this shop…read moretucked into the corner of a plaza. No real seating so I'd say takeout only. The Long Version: Bliss Tea opened up where Sip Tea used to be on Merivale Ave. I think they just rebranded because their drinks taste similar and when I entered my phone number to collect points, it already knew my name despite it being my first time there (I had an account with Sip Tea. Mind you I lost all those points and had to start over with Bliss Tea). I got the Coco Mango ($6.49) and added Tea Jelly (an additional $0.80). I got 30% sweet because 0% was not an option. I also got less ice. My drink was delicious! It contained lots of real mango pieces, rich and creamy coconut milk, and the tea jelly had a nice tea flavour and good texture. The tea jelly is big blobs of jelly like the pudding jelly or herbal/grass/Mesona jelly that's also a bubble tea topping option. It's not neat little cubes or rectangles like coconut jelly. They have a self-ordering kiosk where you select what you want on the screen and pay by card. If you want to pay cash you have to order from the cashier, but you can only pay cash at the cashier. You can't order from the cashier and pay by card. So many rules, lol. There are instructions next to the self-ordering kiosk and on the kiosk itself so it's pretty easy to use. I was thankful for the instructions because the screen was all in Chinese when I started but there were arrows that pointed where to press to change the language. Once it was in English it was really straightforward. Service was quick. I had very little interaction with staff. They basically called out my order number and gave me my drink, lol. There's no real seating. There's this bench along the wall towards the front and 2 really short stools (one of which was on top of the bench). I think it's just a place to sit while you wait for your drinks. It doesn't look like a comfortable place to hang out for long. The shop is in a plaza, so there's free parking in the shared parking lot. I'll definitely be back to try out other drinks. (194)
