Oatmeal raisin cookie
Lee V.

My daughter likes to bring my husband and I random food. We won't say no to free food, haha. She brought us a muffin and cookie once and another time some pasta salad from Drip House. My husband got to most of the pasta salad before I could, haha. He ate some and liked it and then decided to scoop some into a soup. I thought that was weird to do, but he said it was good in the soup. The pasta salad has olives in it. I'm not a fan of olives, but other than that it was good. I love baked goods, so I was a fan of the carrot muffin and oatmeal cookie. I love oatmeal cookies! And muffins with nuts in them.

Another Drip House has popped up in Westboro. It's located at The Dale which is across from the government complex at Tunney's Pasture. This is probably the cleanest space out of all the shops I've been to. Staff are still awesome. There's 5 or 6 tables with seating for 4 and a ton of bar stools. This location is licensed and will be opening a patio when the weather is warmer. I didn't look into food but it looks like they have a full kitchen vs the small spot they have at the other Parkdale location. This location has been open about 2 months. I grabbed a coffee to go but will be back for some of the food. I'm a bit envious of some of the coffee gear they have.

Really nice layout and decor inside

Tim Hortons - Front of the restaurant

Tim Hortons

TL;DR/The Short Version: Tim Hortons has arrived in…read moreHintonburg. More seating than Westboro location, but still relatively small. The Long Version: This Tim Hortons location opened up in early 2025 where the Nu Grocery store used to be. It opened not long after the Westboro location and they both have the same look and feel. This Hintonburg location has more seating but it is still relatively small. There are 4 tables of 2 and a table of 4. I have mixed feelings about having a Tim Hortons in Hintonburg for the same reasons as I do about having a Tim Hortons in Westboro. These are neighbourhoods that used to have mostly unique independently-owned shops, so the moving in of a large multinational changes the landscape. However, I do welcome a quick and relatively inexpensive place to grab a snack or drink. The place is brightly lit and clean. Staff were pleasant. There was a decent selection of baked goods. I got a large Pistachio Latte ($4.99). It's a latte with pistachio syrup, whipped cream and white chocolate curls on top. I got it with oat milk (the other options were 2% milk or almond milk. They didn't have skim milk). It was a bit sweet for my tastes, but still enjoyable. Street parking only. Review #108 (2025)

I really liked the variety of coffees they offered, as well as the wide variety of interesting and enticing food. They were very accommodating in cutting the wrap I ordered in half (saved half for lunch the next day; it was quite large and chalk full of tasty ingredients!) They heated half to eat in the restaurant, and packaged the other half for me to take home. I also ordered a "Cortado" which is like a mini latte (I had never heard of it before). It was tasty but strong - would have been good for first thing in the morning to get your day started. Hubby ordered a strong regular coffee and a different wrap. He seemed to enjoy it. Together, these 4 items came to about $25.00 - not cheap. But I appreciate the fact that this coffee shop that sells Organic, Fair trade coffee also offers fresh food and sandwiches on beautifully baked bread made especially for the stores. And they offer a rewards program as well, which I signed up for. I really wish there was a Bridgehead in the "true west end" of Ottawa!

Not well maintained, verging on grimy. It may seem like a strange complaint, but I plan stops on trips based on where the good bathrooms are. :-) If you can't keep the bathroom clean, what else is not being kept clean? Bathrooms are like people's eyes. You look and you see their soul. 'Nuf said. Would I return: Yes. It's Bridgehead. Would I recommend: Not if you need to use the washroom. ;-)

I got a breakfast sandwich ($7) for my husband and I to share and I got my husband a Nanaimo bar ($4) as it's one of his favourite desserts. The breakfast sandwich was delicious and my husband loved the Nanaimo bar. The breakfast sandwich was vegetarian and had a thick potato croquette as the main filling. It also had pickles, tomatoes and a delicious sauce. It was served cold, but the bun was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Talk about fresh! It was so tasty. I will be dreaming about that breakfast sandwich! I had a small taste of the Nanaimo bar and it was good. It was very sweet, but not overly so, for what it is. The chocolate and cream layer were soft and velvety and the bottom layer had a good texture with all the shredded coconut. I don't love Nanaimo bars but I can appreciate a well made one. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The space is small and it's takeout only. They sell drinks as well as baked goods. They have lots of breads. I have definitely found my new favourite breakfast sandwich place! Oh did I mention their breakfast sandwich is delicious? Lol. I was skeptical about a cold breakfast sandwich, and admittedly it didn't look that delicious, but I'm glad I took the chance. Street parking only.
