    Brie, turkey and pear sandwich
    Angela A.

I have been a few times to the red door and I love how cozy and welcoming the place is . I'm not a coffee drinker however I always go for their delicious sandwiches. I always get it to go , so I rarely eat there but for what I can see many people go to study/work and is a very calm environment. My favourite one was the brie, turkey and pear sandwich. So tasteful, and different. I would say the only thing is that their prices are a bit high, so just be aware that you may be out with a bill a bit higher than expected .

Ehhhhhh I was super excited to try this place but I found it underwhelming. The brownie and whoopie cookie were overpoweringly sweet. The spinach galette was plain with barely any flavour. All their items look delicious but the flavour did not follow through.

I love their coffee.. usually they have lots of treats and they can make you sandwiches per order.. I came in the afternoon on a Sunday most of their sandwiches were sold out so I settled for just a coffee. They also now post pandemic have a lot of their treats frozen and ready to enjoy at home

Simply the best. For my brother and his wife this place has become a second home and I can see why.

I LOVED it here! I came on a Saturday during the day, since they usually close early on weekdays (6pm). The inside is super cozy, although small. They have lots of hanging plants, and decorations, and their homemade products. I got a vanilla matcha latte, which was perfectly sweet and indulgent, as well as a cranberry coconut bar (so decadent)! And a beer. They had quite the variety of beer! It was super hard to decide on a treat, since they have LOTS of amazing looking baked goods, AND savoury items (which I'll have to try next time). The service is really friendly, and you can tell the guys have fun working there, which I appreciate. It was really cozy to sit on the high tables and look out onto the street. Definitely coming back, I need to try their other sweet/savoury treats! I only wish they were downtown since I have to come to Beechwood for them, but worth!

This is one of Ottawa's BEST little gems! There is something for everyone and everything is great. From their amazing jams, marmalades and pickled beets to their most delicious coffee, lattes, lemonades, iced teas and food - where to start? Grilled cheese, several different types including peanut butter, Nutella, banana and goat cheese - sounds odd, but is AMAZiNG! Delicious salads, soups and various breakfast options and so many pastry, cookies, and such to choose from, including ice cream sandwiches to die for. I can't praise this place enough, it's so good! And the staff are friendly, nice and attentive. And the place itself is sweet and clean - lots of nice things to look at, as well, a sizeable nice patio, for nice days. I hope it's around for years to come.......oh, and always, very cool music and atmosphere!

This is probably one of my favourite coffee shops in Ottawa. They're always using great coffee beans. The staff know how to make great espresso based drinks. Food is good, sandwiches range from basic to fancy grilled cheese (good options for kids + those who are more discerning). Nice selection of baked goods, some staples and some on rotation/experimental basis. I recommend the sticky buns. Recommended.

This place is soooo great! My bf and I just moved from Toronto and we greatly missed pilot coffee and cute little cozy cafés ... We were so psyched when we found the Red Door and realized that they carry Pilot coffee beans aka the best coffee roasters ever. The staff were all so friendly and the selection of food and sweets (including SuzieQ donuts!!!) was awesome! I had the overnight oats which are served in a cute little mason jar. It's made with almond milk and yogurt and served with grapes. It was so nice and flavourful! My bf had the smoked ham breakfast sandwich and he loved it. We'll definitely be back. It's easy to find and lots of street parking. Go there asap!!

Stopped in on Saturday, for the first time, and had a Beechwood Fog and slice of lemon loaf. The experience was so good that I met friends there on Sunday: a kale and quinoa salad was enjoyed, a grilled cheese with soup was savoured, and a sales chocolate cookie was devoured! The service is personable and friendly. I can't wait to go back and would suggest making a trip to have their Beechwood Fog.

St zotique and their homemade sodas!

The most delicious London Fog, highly recommend. A little tiny on the inside which is the one drawback.

Overall: A // 5 stars…read more There's no denying that this cafe is all about the aesthetics, and that's great because the eyes eat first and that shouldn't be by any means neglected. I ordered the Passionfruit Latte, which was an intriguing blend of tropical notes that was actually tasted through the strength of the espresso. I liked that even though the drink was simple, the aesthetic was not neglected from the dried citrus garnish to the perfect gradient of the cup. I really enjoyed all the floral decor in the cafe to help beautify it as well. Their brunch menu is massive and full of interesting items that I wish I had more stomach space to try; definitely in a future return! Do you like the colour pink? Do you like flowers? Do you like pink flowers? If yes, you will love…read morethis place, lol. It's a cafe and a flower shop, with flowers everywhere and everything is pink. Very Instagrammable decor. I was served by the loveliest barista. He said it was his 4th day on the job (I was there mid/late December 2023). He made me the tastiest Peaches and Cream Fog (not on the menu, but should be, lol). They use Sloan Teas and the Peaches and Cream flavour is peachy and creamy with a subtle hint of floral. It wasn't too sweet and I loved it. Their croissants are flakey and buttery. Their carrot cake is good too, although the icing is too sweet for my liking. Really cute cafe! Street parking or paid parking lot parking only, which is the norm for places in the Byward Market. The Short Version: Popular hipstery cafe that's co-located…read morewith a bicycle shop that sells bikes, bike accessories and fixes bikes. I found the decaf Americano had too sour an aftertaste for me, but the orange chocolate chip cookie was good. The Long Version: I've heard of the Ottawa Bike Cafe and have been meaning to try it for some time now and have finally gotten around to it. My husband and I were on one of our "food and drink weekend adventures" where we go to a bunch of places that are new-to-us and get a little something to share at each place. Like a food crawl, lol. Anyway the Ottawa Bike Cafe was one of our stops. We got a medium decaf Americano ($3.70) and an Orange Chocolate Chip Cookie ($4). My husband liked the coffee and he rated it 4/5. He's more of a coffee connoisseur than I am, so his assessment on coffee is likely more trustworthy than mine, lol. I found the coffee bitter with too much of a sour aftertaste, but I'm one of those people who like flavoured syrup in my coffee (whereas my husband thinks flavoured coffee is gross and drinks his coffee black. We got the coffee black by the way). I enjoyed the Orange Chocolate Chip Cookie, although I only had a few small bites as the hubby ate most of it, haha. I liked that the orange flavour was noticeable. It was a nice twist on the traditional chocolate chip cookie. It was a bit too buttery for my preference and a tad too crumbly, but otherwise a pretty good cookie. Service was pleasant. The place was packed. Decor and ambiance I would describe as hipster cool. If you like popular places that are bustling, this is the place to be. I personally like quieter places with fewer people (although sadly this usually means that places I like don't always stick around). Our visit was in March. I imagine that this place is even busier in the summer. It's on the stretch of Sparks Street that is pedestrian only, so great for people watching if you sit by the window or on the patio during the warmer months when they have outdoor seating. Street parking only. Review #54 (2026)

Overall: A // 5 stars…read more I love the duality of this establishment with a full on bike shop, but also paired with intriguing speciality drinks such at the Blueberry Matcha Latte I ordered. The contrastive intensity of flavors from the rich bluebbery to the earthy matcha works incredibly well as neither element was watered down and held its own. Very impressive drink, would recommend.
