The food and coffee I ordered was good, though the felafel was premade and reheated for me. Service was prompt. Coffee was tasty! Large space in a stand alone building, it's bright inside. It gets loud in here over lunch. Overall, it was good. Although it was not cheap; 2 of us: 2 sandwiches, 1 soup, and 2 coffees came to $40.00. Convenient and fast. read more

It's been said that you can't rush art. We've gotten so used to getting our beverage quickly, that we've forgotten how much time, effort, and skill it takes for a barista to do their thing. My cortado was art in a cup. The cheesecake was the perfect accompaniment. read more

We went to Figaro Coffee House for brunch before shopping at Ottawa Trainyards. Their Matcha Latte ($4.80) was the best one we've ever tasted in Ottawa so far! Earthy, creamy, a little sweet - it was perfection according to my wife who loves her matcha lattes! Their Cappuccino ($4.25) was also pretty great, being very smooth. We ordered the Ham & Cheese Croissant ($6.25) as well as the Italian sandwich ($8.75) and a Blueberry Muffin ($2.50). Everything was very fresh and delicious. The Blueberry Muffin was the best one I have tasted in a long time. Perfectly soft inside and with just the right amount of streusel-like crumbly texture on top. Figaro has a cool vibe to it with black and white decor, lots of patrons coming and going and friendly staff. read more

I'm struggling a bit with this review. This is a fairly nice space. Times have been tough. I try to provide leeway for that. I've never found the customer service top notch, COVID 19 has not helped. Having said all of that, for something like a coffee shop that is highly (return) customer driven, some emphasis on training needs to towards how to actually deal with customers. If someone orders a dry cap, and you don't know what that is, ask. Smile. Figure out a better way to deliver bad news like the store is closing in 12 minutes, and it's your problem customer. It's such a small easy thing to teach, and it can ruin a business if it's not done. Sigh. read more

A nice looking coffee house on Industrial Avenue, but the service was unresponsive and unfriendly. Initially they gave us an incomplete order and we had to remind them what our full order was. Our cafe latte and Cappuccino were lukewarm and tasteless. The curry turkey soup was the worst. Bland broth with a hint of curry and the turkey was dry as dust. I couldn't swallow it. I did complain to the service staff and I recommended they not sell the soup to anyone else. I will not be revisiting even though my family lives in the neighborhood. read more

Loved the vibe and how sunny it is! I got the iced matcha and was very yummy! The barista was quick and very kind! It's a tad bit expensive though, as my drink came to about $8 due to my request to use oat milk. read more

In the times of Covid having a coffee out is an outing and a pleasure . So I drove from across town from kanta to try this coffee shop. Fancy high ceilings and sharp decor. Super friendly staff . The coffee was ok, after reading the reviews I had high expectations.. it's definitely smooth but I'm picky about my coffee.. the caramel latte was good but didn't live up to he expectations I guess . Pain Au chocolat was decent I had it warmed up which was nice. Over all it's a nice cafe and lovely spot to meet a friend if you are in the area ! read more

Great atmosphere, delicious coffee and pastries! Wife and I were in town for the weekend looking for a great local coffee shop. This place sure does deliver! We each had the Bulletproof coffee and it was incredible, good strong coffee with the smooth creaminess of the added coconut oil and butter. Highly recommended! I also tried a cherry turn over and it was light and fluffy with a great cream cheese and cherry flavour! (Quick tip, get them to warm it up!) Over all the ambiance and food drink offerings are great! Prices are very reasonable and staff was pleasant. We will be back! read more

I went here for lunch and to hang out with one of my girlfriends (Stacey B.) We both thought it was great. The place is really beautiful. I loved the high ceilings, funky lights, and comfy seats. I had the roasted vegetable frittata $7, which comes with a side mixed greens salad, a small bowl of fruit salad, and a crostini. Perfect for a nice light lunch. The frittata was a little flatter than I'm used to, but it was still tasty. The side salad was just mixed greens with 2 slices of cucumber, but everything was fresh. I liked the balsamic vinaigrette, which came on the side as requested. The fruit salad was apples, oranges and grapes, which made me a happy camper because it didn't contain honeydew or cantaloupe. The crostini added some crunch to the meal. I would get this again. They had a small selection of sandwiches, salads, cookies, and cakes. They also of course had coffee and tea. I got to taste one of their little palmier-like cookies (thanks, Stacey!). It was crunchy, flaky and sweet, with a strong cinnamon taste. They have free self-serve lemon water. Service was good. You pay at the cash register, then they bring your food to you. The only thing I did not like about this place is the configuration of the parking lot. It's not very big, it's essentially a rectangle with parking on the long sides of the rectangle, there's only one way to get in and out, so if you go in and then discover that the parking lot is full, it's really difficult to get out - you essentially have to back out of the parking lot (as there is not enough space to turn around). As I was pulling in, someone was backing out of the parking lot, so I had to also back out. There's some spillover parking around the back of other buildings nearby, but obviously not as convenient as parking right by the café. It's a nice addition to the area for sure. read more

Attractive decor pleasant and helpful customer service I tried the bulletproof coffee and it was interesting I did have to add sugar and milk the wrap was very good they heated it for me My husband enjoyed his croissant l he thought the latte was ordinary I do recommend there for breakfast read more

My husband and I were up at 7am on a Saturday and were looking for a coffee place that wasn't Starbucks. This place did not disappoint! You cannot miss the aroma of fresh baked pastries, even with a mask! We follow a ketogenic lifestyle and were surprised to see Bulletproof coffee. It was so creamy and delicious and a great way to start the day! My husband also had a cherry turnover that they warmed. He said it was flakey and sweet, like a big hug. We loved this place so much, we even took more coffee to go. We would definitely be back and love supporting local coffee places! read more

Have been here a few more times and really enjoy everything about it from the atmosphere to the food and beverage! I tried an iced Earl Grey tea latte lemonade and it was delicious, and have had the club panini a couple times without disappointment as well! Pro tip: During the week (even after work) it's much easier to get parking! read more

My first time here on a Saturday and service was horrendous. The place was packed, they didn't have any real mugs only take away and the people working were more interested in talking amongst themselves than the clients. Coffee was good but the experience was not good so not sure if I would return. read more

This is the first cafe I hot when I came to Ottawa and it didn't disappoint at all. From the high ceilings to beautiful industrial lights and big space I am glad I checked this place out before I got the usual Starbucks for a caffeine fix. They do make a good coffee and selected pastries with some sandwiches and frittatas. I loved my flat white and cappuccino. It's busy most of the time regardless weekday or weekends. They do have a small parking space, but the spots does get fill up quick. You can always park a little further up where Nordstrom Rack parking spaces. A good place to hang out to with free WiFi and Farm Boy is just across the street with the Movita gym and Nordstrom Rack. A good place to check out whenever you're in Ottawa. read more

food is great, coffee is great. It was very busy for 2:30 Sunday afternoon, could the staff please be more organised. My husband got his coffee 10 mins before mine was ready, then I had to wait for my pastry. We took our order to go and were aware there would be a wait and were fine waiting but for the items to arrive in a mangled time frame was ridiculous. Could one person please take care of one order at a time completely. And, no foam on our lattes, please no foam i'm not paying for a cup full of foam. We will be back because the coffee and food is wonderful and when not so busy it is a lovely way to sit and enjoy passing some time; if it is that busy again we'll take a pass. read more

One of my favourite coffee shops in Ottawa. The decor is beautiful. I love the giant world map on the ceiling! They have a decent selection of lattes and coffees as well as a snacks. Have a small menu or breakfast, lunch and dinner options too. Some of the best coffee. I don't usually drink it black but I can there because the coffee is so smooth! The only reason I wouldn't give a full 5 stars is that the parking lot is always full and it can sometimes be hard to find a spot to sit. I mean it's a good thing for them to always be busy but just be prepared for that! read more

This place is very elegant and has quite the chic atmosphere. Unlike Starbucks (which one can assume is their commercialized counterpart), they do not offer a large selection of espresso drinks, but they still treat their medium sized menu with quality. Their furniture looks antique and that, mixed with the classical/opera music playing softly in the background makes for a lovely little hideaway from the rain that was outside when I went to visit. I can imagine this place a booming hangout for students seeking to study in style, or people looking for a more cozy ambiance to chat with friends or go on Tinder dates. Their menu has many delicious selections with the to-go section looking fresh and hand made each day. Their desserts seem to be switched up daily as well. If coffee doesnt suit you, no worries either, because they serve wine and beer along with their cute evening menu. read more

Although this is a nice coffee house, DO NOT try to book a private event! I first spoke with the manager Anna who was very nice but told me all inquiries needed to go through the owner. The owner is NOT onsite and you can not speak with her. That is when my frustrating nightmare began. The owner does not provide you with her phone number so all communication had to go through email. Unless I bombarded her with requests to return my emails, she did not. Even when she returned my emails after weeks of waiting, she did not answer my questions. For someone trying to plan an event, you can imagine how frustrating and stressful this was. After over 2 months of trying to arrange a private event , I simply gave up. Even when I emailed her with the news that we were not going to have our event in her space, she did not return my email. Awful customer service!!! read more

Favorite coffee house boutique in Ottawa. Reminds me of coffee houses in Toronto. Place is beautiful with nice decor, very large windows, and seats are very comfortable. Their healthy food options is definitely a plus and even if you feel like indulging, they have various cakes/cheesecakes too! I'm not a big coffee drinker but the tea was great and the atmosphere was excellent. They have a breakfast, lunch, and evening menu (night menu includes a cheese board!) They're open late on weekends, which is another plus, and their staff is also helpful and friendly. Noticed they also applied for a liquor license so that's an interesting combination. For a new coffee shop, it definitely got it right. Ps. It was a lil cold and most ppl were wearing or putting on their jackets. read more

House medium blend coffee is amazing. Iced coffee too (because it is their coffee over ice - not a syrup concoction) Best coffee in town hands down. Usually get to go coffee and enjoy the local coffee houses. Met a friend Sunday morning and ordered 2 coffees. Ordered a latte and Americano. They called out the latte and no americano. I asked the barista and he first indicated he did not have one and then he said he would serve all other drinks 10 plus. I asked for a brew instead as my partner had their coffee already for 10 min. On my way out I tied to explain my order and he said it probably got lost ... no refund or compensation for a coffee I didn't get. Poor customer service and need training for staff on service. read more

I have to start this review off by saying I really was excited to try this place out and was really hoping it was going to be my new go to coffee shop. I checked out reviews on Yelp and pictures and had my heart set on a good maple latte. I went in early on a friday morning on my way to work and as it was my first time I had a few questions. The lady at the cash didn't seem sure on how to do anything. I got a maple latte and a croissant (when I asked about the two different breakfast wraps she said one had bacon and one didn't and both had egg, cheese, salsa and jalapenos - so it didn't sound that interesting to me). The cashier then told me she usually worked in the kitchen so she clearly had no idea how to work the cash or how to take peoples orders. I got my latte and it really didn't have any flavor to it and just tasted like milk with a hint of caffeine. Not really the latte I was hoping for, which disappoints me because the pictures of their lattes all look really good. I might give this place another try but given the lackluster service and just okay coffee I will probably stick with starbucks across the street. The decor inside is awesome and I am disappointed that I didn't find the new coffee shop I was hoping for more in the east end of Ottawa. read more
