Chai latte and view from the back corner

As a non-coffee drinker, I'm not big on coffeehouses, but I really enjoyed this one! I had a get-together across the street at Yangtze, so I came here to attend a meeting just before. The music was actually pretty loud, so I wouldn't recommend it for calls, unless you have noise suppression and earphones. Unfortunately, I didn't get the chance to eat because I was heading to dinner after, but I did grab a chai latte with regular milk and it was perfect. It wasn't too strong, nice and smooth, and filled to the brim. I ordered it at the counter and they brought it to me, then once done, there was a cart to put dirty dishes. The atmosphere here is really the best part. It's just beautiful with the lights, the bar, tables, walls, all of it! Would be amazing to come here at night when they have cocktails. Note that the toilet is super close to the wall, so it's pretty tight and you might need to sit on an angle. Next time I'd like to try my go-to order of matcha latte, as well as the avocado salmon toast that I hear is great.

The awesome crew at Drip House have opened up a location on Somerset. It's across from Yangtze...I can't remember the spot that was here before though. I walked inside and the place looks awesome. The staff recognized me, some from the place in Hintonburg were working here. I grabbed a drink and hit up the patio. You have to sign in for Covid rules. The patio here is pretty nice. It's got the artificial turf but doesn't have the same overhang as their other location though it looked like there was a gazebo section Coffee and snacks were good. My friend ordered an egg salad sandwich that looked awesome. Their menu is available on UberEats and I'll be back soon

Food is fresh, filling and very tasty. I always love getting a sandwich from here. The chai latte is great, I got mine less sweet and it was done perfectly. Atmosphere is really cool too.

So it's my first time trying this second location of drip house! Not sure how recent it is but still not the same level as their first location. Nice seating area, parking was easy on the street (paid) but my mocha came like warm and I couldn't drink it if it's not hot! Service was ok it wasn't busy not sure honestly maybe they deserve a second try!

Customer Service and ambiance: Such a wonderful cocktail bar. Their menu was phenomenal and had a good variety. The beautiful setting, dim lights, music and clean space, made the perfect atmosphere. We were greeted by Kai, one of the bartenders who served us throughout the evening. He was kind and knowledgeable, and helped us choose the right things. A special shoutout to Kai and Akash who made our drinks and were very passionate about their craft. Drinks: I got the Belladonna- which had gin, melon liqueur and some rosehip hibiscus bitters. I also ordered the Foxglove (not sure what else was in it besides tequila lol). Both drinks had great tension and every sip was inviting Dessert: I'm not a big fan of tiramisu but I love matcha, and I've been dreaming about the matcha tiramisu since I left Ottawa. It was delicious. The layers tasted rich and it was the right amount of creamy/sweetness. It also had a sprinkle of salt on the top, completing the recipe. There was a perfect balance of flavour and appearance. Highly recommend

Ottawa Bike Cafe - Orange Chocolate Chip Cookie $4

I found the decaf Americano had too sour an aftertaste for me, but the orange chocolate chip cookie was good. The Long Version: I've heard of the Ottawa Bike Cafe and have been meaning to try it for some time now and have finally gotten around to it. My husband and I were on one of our "food and drink weekend adventures" where we go to a bunch of places that are new-to-us and get a little something to share at each place. Like a food crawl, lol. Anyway the Ottawa Bike Cafe was one of our stops. We got a medium decaf Americano ($3.70) and an Orange Chocolate Chip Cookie ($4). My husband liked the coffee and he rated it 4/5. He's more of a coffee connoisseur than I am, so his assessment on coffee is likely more trustworthy than mine, lol. I found the coffee bitter with too much of a sour aftertaste, but I'm one of those people who like flavoured syrup in my coffee (whereas my husband thinks flavoured coffee is gross and drinks his coffee black. We got the coffee black by the way). I enjoyed the Orange Chocolate Chip Cookie, although I only had a few small bites as the hubby ate most of it, haha. I liked that the orange flavour was noticeable. It was a nice twist on the traditional chocolate chip cookie. It was a bit too buttery for my preference and a tad too crumbly, but otherwise a pretty good cookie. Service was pleasant. The place was packed. Decor and ambiance I would describe as hipster cool. If you like popular places that are bustling, this is the place to be. I personally like quieter places with fewer people (although sadly this usually means that places I like don't always stick around). Our visit was in March. I imagine that this place is even busier in the summer. It's on the stretch of Sparks Street that is pedestrian only, so great for people watching if you sit by the window or on the patio during the warmer months when they have outdoor seating. Street parking only. Review #54 (2026)
