Amazing! I bring my mom here every time I visit- we call it Mexican IHOP because it's in a ihop building. They have the usual eggs, pancakes, etc but for me the real draw is the chilaquiles- they're made with tortillas, not chips and have the perfectly firey spice. Been trying out different breakfast spots in Long Beach and came across this page. Wait time was about 15mins on a Sunday around noon. Got sat down and the place was busy. Food: Cheesecake strawberry pancakes thinking it has cheesecake bites because one of the photos on the review had it. Come to find out that picture was taken over 2 years ago and they didn't have it lol. Anyways pancakes were alright nothing too exciting. Strawberry banana Nutella Crepes They were good, but can say I had better. Sirloin Breakfast This plate was a steak omelette with hash browns. Steak was flavorful and descent amount of size, they only bad was the price $17.99. I mean ihop has a steak omelette that comes with hash browns and size pancakes for less. Chicken enchiladas plate No good review, we had to return the plate because the chicken in the rolled enchiladas were COLD. I guess the cooks thought if they can top them off with HOT salsa it would make them warm NOPE! By the time my partner got his enchiladas plate I was half way through my steak plate. It was too late to order another thing so we just ended up sharing my plate. All in all probably won't go back not the 2 star was given for the waitress, she seemed stressed but the food wasn't her fault or problem. read more

This place was pretty busy when I visited, it must be a popular place. The staff was nice when you interacted with them, but they would disappear and it was hard to get refills. Price was on the higher end, but I will blame that on Long Beach. Food was not bad. The portion size felt on the smaller side, but I was full from my meal. read more

We decided to check this place out because it had something for everyone in our group and had a 4.3 review. We were greeted friendly and in the front entrance has a great display of desserts. Of course, we had to try. We had the strawberry cake, carrot cake, masapan cake, and pumpkin cheesecake. Would recommend all but the pumpkin cheesecake that tasted more like a spice cake. The place is very small but the parking is free with enough parking. we were waited on fast, but food is extremely slow to come out. Unfortunately our waitress wasn't that good. Forgot food to bring out ,and didn't offer any refills. Half the food was good. the other half, not so much. Nutella waffle,avocado toast, chicken tacos, Conchas we would recommend. Breakfast burritos(hash browns were burnt), birria tacos (not the best flavor passed it around the table to see if anyone would eat no one like) sirloin torta(dry and tough meat), Mexican nacho (hardly any cheese or toppings mainly chips that were freshly cooked those were good) cheese burger(bun was good but frozen patty average burger), potatoes tacos (no flavor) would not recommend. read more

So I finally decided to try this place. Pictures look great and reviews aren't to bad. I was in the mood for something different so I ordered the menudo, I'm sorry to say it did not meet all my expectations, although the flavor was there and plenty of menudo (tripe) but my god where's the hominy ? Literally I had 3 of the smallest hominy kernels I have ever seen. I felt like asking the waiter if they had run out of hominy or what was the deal, definitely not worth the price. My daughter ordered the pambaso which she had the hardest time trying to eat it. I ordered a LARGE tamarindo agua Fresca and I do have to admit it was one of the best I have tried, what was disappointing was the size, like I said I ordered a large and this cup must have been 10 - 12 oz I even asked the girl " this is a large "? And she said yes, I would hate to see the small maybe it's a shot glass !!! I wasn't to impressed with the service either, I asked for extra lime for my menudo and didn't get it til I was almost done, they are busy so can understand the service being slow. Would I give this place a second chance ? They were busy, so even though we ordered online we still had a wait. Not a problem, except the food wasn't that good in our opinion. Roast Beef Sandwich: it was dry. like it sat out for hours dry; no gravy, just [really dry] meat, cheese, and oily sourdough. The fries were good, not at all overcooked, so if you like your fries crispy you'll need to order them that way. Machaca: very bland, and it used the same really dry roast beef as the sandwich, the beans were flavorless, but the rice wasn't bad. Chilaquiles: the meat had flavor and the sauce was very good, the chips were thick and rather hard (could've used more sauce.) The jalapeno toreados were well blistered, seasoned, and deliciously spicy. Tacos Ahogado: the best thing we tried. Three potato filled fried tacos covered in the spicy chilaquiles sauce, a little cheese, chopped tomato, and lettuce. It breaks down to about $3.33/ taco, but a nice indulgence. read more

I evaluate a restaurant's worth mainly by the price, quality, service, and whether I can make the dish(es) better at home for cheaper. I quite enjoy coming to Loaded Cafe. I've been many times and the food is always great- pancakes, french toast, stackers (pretty much omelettes), crepes... Loaded Cafe does it all to a high standard. Today, my friend and I arrived at 10:50 and were told it would be a 10-15 minute wait to get seated. In reality it was 40 minutes. This isn't the first time this has happened for me either. This is why I'm giving Loaded Cafe 4 stars. Came a few months ago, also on a Sunday with the fam. We were told 10-15 minute wait. After 25 minutes, we gave up and went elsewhere. Granted, that was on a holiday, but I'm sad to see it wasn't an isolated incident. Once we were seated, it becomes a totally different story. We both got $3 bottomless coffee and I kid you not, we were asked no less than 30x if we wanted refills over the course of 1.5 hours. I'm pretty Loaded Cafe has workers whose only (or main) task is to go around and fill up people's coffees, which is freakin' awesome. The coffee itself tasted great. I had at least 2 cups, black. As usual, the food was spot on. It came out in about 25 minutes, which I thought was fair since they were ridiculously packed. I got a build-your-own stacker (~$8, came with very crispy hash browns) and 2 buttermilk pancakes ($3). Solidly priced and delicious as ever. The only downside here were the grilled onions with the stacker. They weren't grilled nearly enough for me, most were not browned at all. They weren't bad enough to really negatively affect the stacker, but I probably won't get them again. The pancakes have a light crisp on the outside and are soft on the inside. They're also rather sweet, but not too much so. I also got complimentary mazapan cream for my cakes, which is always so sweet and tasty. If you haven't tried mazapan (marzipan), I highly recommend it if you like almond extract flavoring. My total with tip came out to $17. May seem like a lot, but I got 2 full plates of delicious food fairly quickly after being seated. Sure, I can make the dishes at home, but they do the pancakes far better than I can, and they offer tons of different ingredients for the stacker than I may not always have on hand, as well as the excellent hash brown. And this isn't even mentioning the great bottomless coffee. But I do think they need to be more upfront with wait times. Straight up, when you have 25 people waiting to get seated in a restaurant that is already full, it's obviously going to be more than a 15 minute wait for most of us. Unless they truly misestimated (multiple times), I think it's dishonest to tell us that inaccurate a wait time. Most of us will probably stick out the long wait since we know the food is well worth it. read more

Staying nearby, we wanted to find something decent and in walking distance. Yelpers came through with great reviews and photos. We even got a free drink for checking in on YELP! The outside definitely looks like an old IHOP but there were quite a few cars outside even though we were eating early. Carmen greeted us with a smile at the door and immediately took us to our table. She also happened to be our server so she brought our drinks right out. The menu has lots of breakfast selections including waffles, pancakes and even crepes along with omelette and egg combos with steaks, chicken fried steaks, etc. The lunch section has chicken sandwiches, burgers and patty melts. They also had salad bowls in tortilla shell, tacos, burritos, and other combos. It was really tough to decide but hubby chose the mushroom Swiss burger ($8.99) with seasoned fries and I picked the Double burger ($6.99) with onion rings. The burgers were huge and tasty! The fries were crazy good and the onion rings were a bit crunchy for me but good (we finished them all!). We were stuffed but happy especially since our bill was $23 including tip. When the food came out I thought the waiter might have made an error and split the breakfast for us ( since we ordered the same thing) through miscommunication. We literally finished breakfast while having a normal conversation in 6 or 7 minutes, and we're not even chowhounds!! The worse part was the waiter lying to our face saying that customers usually say our portions are too big. Se right!!! I thought this was a kids plate.
