I see why it was empty on a Sunday afternoon. Food was not good....I guess this is more of a bar place for sure.

We are frequent visitors to the LS one but The one on the Kansas is equally good. Our waiter Tyler was very patient especially with my husband who was a little demanding that night...shout out to Tyler from Adrian-don't forget to go to Mass on Sunday. I always order the pub chips with the cheese sauce. And I love the chicken salad sandwich on a croissant. If its nice-definitely sit outside. read more

I was excited to see the new location in Lee's Summit, and chose that location for a belated Mother's Day outing with my family. We arrived at 3:30pm, during happy hour, hoping to take advantage of some of the specials before the restaurant (presumably) got busy with a dinner rush. I'd checked the happy hour menu on the site, so I had an idea of what to expect. Our server initially told us that Happy Hour didn't start until 3pm, and seemed annoyed that we'd asked, to be honest. I looked at my watch and verified that we were in fact in the 3 o'clock hour. She quickly rattled off that most of the drafts and bottles were on special, and did not offer any sort of printed happy hour menu. I asked for more information, pointing to the menu which I had pulled up on my phone, which stated "selected" drafts were on special. She then told me "anything that comes in a regular glass." I had to push for more information, since I don't know what comes in a special glass. She impatiently told me "basically anything other than Tank 7." It was made clear that she wasn't particularly interested in helping me select a beer. So, referencing the happy hour menu on the site, I selected a "premium well cocktail" -- a gin & elderflower cocktail I can't quite recall the name of. The cocktail itself was watery and barely had any gin at all, nor did I taste any elderflower. But I figured for the advertised happy hour price of $3, it was fine if not something I would order again. (Possibly worth noting that I'm not sure this was made correctly, as it came in a standard-size water glass filled with ice rather than a smaller cocktail glass.) When we received the bill, I was disappointed to see I had been charged the full price. I brought this up with our server, and she said that the Lee's Summit location was different, and that she'd "only said drafts and bottles." This was an insult-to-injury moment, considering she'd seen me referring to the online menu. I asked for her to speak with her manager about the difference, and the only response I got in return was that the LS location would be up on the official Llywelyns website "soon." As of the time of writing, the location has in fact been added to the website, but there is no mention that it has a different menu. (I actually emailed Llywellyn's corporate via their website prior to posting this, giving them a chance to address my experience, but I did not receive a response.) The food was fine, though what was delivered was not exactly what was described on the menu. It wasn't anything to write home about, but it was satisfactory. The manager did not bother to stop by our table, even though the restaurant was not busy, even after I had experienced a problem. I left feeling extremely unvalued as a customer, and very sorry I'd chosen to attempt to support a new business rather than going somewhere tried and true. I'd looked at Yelp reviews prior to visiting and was a little worried but wanted to give them a chance. Unfortunately, it appears the unfavorable reviews were not inaccurate. Perhaps the place is not interested in serving families (despite the fact that we were there specifically during a time meant to avoid any potential dinner rush or overlap with a different set of clientele later in the evening). But when you have Stuey McBrew's just a few blocks away successfully serving both demographics, it was surprising and disappointing to have a different experience in Lee's Summit's typically family-oriented downtown. read more

I can only tell you what not to get. Unfortunately if you're in the mood for Irish pub food this might not be the place to go. i ordered the fish and chips and my wife ordered the shepherds pie. My fish and chips were different from the first time. I was served 5 or 6 fish sticks as opposed to two cod fish fillets. I don't know if they ran out or just have a couple different distributors, but I didn't care for the glorified fish sticks. My wife's shepherds pie was not very good either. The potatoes were bland (almost tasted like instant), the beef had the consistency of Taco Bell taco meat and the veggies were most definitely canned. Yikes! Overall the experience was forgettable and we won't be back. Oh also, I've been to plenty American Irish pubs in my day, but it was definitely a first to have pop dance blaring as the musical snack of choice. read more

I had the pot roast and it was so watered down and had no tast. The music was to loud you could not talk to the person next to you without yelling. The wait staff was not bad if you did not mind the fact they could not seam to walk by without nocking into your chair. Was way over pricedfor the quality of the food. read more

We went here for a second time over the weekend and have decided we won't be eating here again. The price of food is high, and what you get is just mehhh. My husband ordered the appetizer of mini sliders and I ordered the chicken wrap. The appetizer was more expensive then the little wrap I received. Both times service was very bad, get sat at a table and wait about 10 minutes for someone to come over. Meanwhile, about 5 feet in front of us we counted 5 servers standing by the server computer not doing anything. If we go there again, it will just be for drinks, then we will eat at Frankie Farelane's or Stuey McBrews. read more

Sent this to the manager on Facebook and never got a response! To whom it may concern, My boyfriend and I were in for dinner and drinks last night. I am not one to complain at all, but I feel you need to know about our experience. By the way, we love walking down and sitting on your patio! We came in last night and sat at the bar. It took forever for someone to come over and greet us. That's fine, but it did take a bit. We got our drinks and our tacos, but we were still hungry so we ordered spinach dip. Delicious! One problem, there is definitely not enough pita bread to finish this entire dip. We asked for more pita and after about 10 minutes we were brought only 5 more pieces of bread. This was very irritating and my boyfriend said something about it. The waitress was very rude and insulting to us about how we "must be little dippers". We decided to box it up and take it home to eat with some chips, but we actually ended up throwing it away in fear that it was spit in when the waitress took it back to box it up. The bartender then came over and continued to argue about how he gets big huge dips and that the pita bread provided was plenty for most people to finish the dip. I felt very insulted and I felt the customer service was lacking. I am not sure that we will visit Llewelyns again because of this incident. The beer selection is terrible - the. Best beer they had listed was the Oregon Black Butte and the girl said they don't have it any more - sadness stuck my hear - the only other beer with flavor I found was the dragon. The Oregon beers were what they had with flavor and the Butte was not carried any more they do not offer a growler corking fee or flights. The local band was decent and loud enough to down out a nuclear bomb blast. Atmosphere was mostly enjoyable. The Waitress when she smiles had a nice smile but you had to kind of engage her to smile, but nice girl. I enjoyed the white bean chili and house salad! Please owner - branch out past beer that are tasteless - this is the age of brew experimentations and deep flavor and richness !! read more

Great happy hour! Pretzels awesome. Rarebit awesome wings great. Cheese dip and whisky mustard with the pretzels are both great. The spicy wing sauce isn't super spicy but it's still really good. read more

Service is friendly but the three chances I've given this place to prove me wrong about the food have failed. Our burger was ok, the adult grilled cheese is a measly excuse to slap a piece of cheese and undercooked bacon together, and our flatbread was cold and bland. I do however appreciate the large selection of beer, ample space to accommodate bigger groups, and nice TVs. I really wish the food wasn't so subpar :/ read more

My first time in downtown Lees Summit. Loved this place. The Pub Curry was great, along with the service.

Best thing is they have a good beer selection. Unfortunately, they don't have a beer menu that is up to date and the bartender didn't have a clue. I was close enough to see the taps, if not read them completely, and the bartender had to walk over to the handles to see what I was asking about. Had a Reuben Sandwich, which was corn beef LUNCHMEAT on black bread. If there was any sauerkraut on the sandwich, it was unrecognizable. Second time there, and last. read more

This is a consistent place. Good food, good staff, plenty of TVs for sports, a band in the back on the weekends, a menu with something for everuyone and always a drink special. It will not blow you away, but it will not disapoint. read more

I was excited to check out this bar on a recommendation from locals. Great atmosphere! Asked the bartender for prices of whiskey and scotches and were delighted with what she told us. However, the prices of the drinks were more than what she told us. We were so confused. Would love to come back if the staff was more knowledgeable and honest about product costs. Same situation as the previous businesses. They can't seem to get a drink served within two minutes. It's going to be the death of this restaurant. You show up at the bar and ask for a drink and the bartender has to go through a myriad of selections and options on the register touchscreen pushing this button pushing that button to make sure the managers can account for every single drop of alcohol in the place. It will be the downfall of this restaurant as well. The only way to ensure your success is a go back to the old style registers in which they can turn over orders quickly. read more

Absolutely horrible service here. Our group was getting VERBALLY harassed by a fellow patron (who later apologized). The bar manager witnessed the confrontation and felt she needed to take it into her own hands and stop a "fight" before it happened and she made it PHYSICAL. She came over and grabbed my sisters hair pulling it back so hard that her head came back and hit her lip. My sisters head was bleeding. The managers story is that she was "breaking up a fight" that was never even close to physical. Absolutely ridiculous and pathetic this is a person in a managerial position. This place is a great summer hangout with a large gorgeous patio, open-air bar, and big screen tv's outside. That's what initially attracted my husband and I, but we have repeatedly gone back for the delicious menu. The mixed drinks, carved turkey sandwich and pretzel stick appetizers are some of our favorites. read more

Llewelyn's Pub is one of my favorite places in Lees Summit! I enjoy ordering the Burger Bites on the Appetizer menu and then straight to dessert-Bread Pudding or Gooey Caramel Cake!! Everything is delicious!!! read more

Went back for lunch and had one of the specials. They are good and priced right. The regular menu is a little high in my opinion. The food is good though! The service is average, which is not a bad thing, and I don't expect excellent service at a bar, so it is fine. read more

We have been here at least 3 times and never had anything bad. For the first time we ordered the steak salad and it just wasn't up to par with everything else on the menu (the only reason they did not get a 5) but the server was awesome and fixed it right away. The pub chips are awesome! Great for sharing while drinking some beer. We will be back! Love trying all the beers on the menu! The patio and live music is always a blast! read more

Good but way too expensive! 6 fried pickles wedges for $9? Come on. For their happy hour waitress said $3 beer, I said which ones. She said any of them. So great! Wife and I ordered 7 total beers. Beer total when check came was over $40! Fine if at a pub at night but not for $3 happy hour. Turns out beer were not on sale $6.50 each for some. Manager corrected total a small amount but total bill was almost $90 for 3 people. This us way too much for a pub during happy hour. Not worth your money. read more

Went for lunch, ordered shepards pie, it was pretty good. Nice generous portion. The sodas, were horrible. Had very odd taste. The server was not impressed with checking in on us, or refilling or gross drinks because we were not young & flirtatious enough to get her back to our table. I will give it another try, however hopefully we get better service. read more

Since they were just opened I am giving them a break. Tables that were seated 20 minutes and another one 30 minutes after our table received their food much before we were finally served entrees. The food arrived cold and all at the table were disappointed especially when one of us had a first bite containing a bay leaf. The spinach and artichoke dip was very good, thus the 3 stars. I ordered a drink and when I asked I was told it would be a $3 drink. My receipt reflected $5.25. I was told that the vodka they'd used was not 'well' so there was nothing they could do at that point. Also, I was told that the 'Dragon Wings' were $6. I went ahead and ordered and then was told that they were out of the bone-in wings and could replace them with boneless. Ugh...really?? On a Friday night? "Out" of wings??? Sure..so I ended up getting 10 little balls of processed breaded meat for $6. I felt like this was all a bait and switch routine. I then gave the waitress cash and waited for 1/2 hour and never ended up with my change. This was my first visit and I'll be moving on to better happy-hours. read more

Well that went terrible. Told our wait would be 30 minutes. Stood there and watched empty tables stay unseated. Finally got seated 1 hour and 15 minutes later. Told the hostess we had a baby, so they sat us right in front of the band speaker in the bar area. Then sat there and watched watress after watress walk right by us for 20 minutes. Never did get any service. Got up to leave and saw 6 empty tables. Told the hostess we were leaving and why, and she said we would have to be put at the bottom of the list again. I don't think so. I really am disappointed to give them one star. Walked in and asked hostess for a table. She looks next to hostess stand and there was a table with dishes on it. She said take this one. She took the plates but didn't wash off the table. Waiter came and I asked what was on their special of surf and turf. He said seafood and steak. Thank you captain obvious. He seemed mad I made him go fine out. I ended up getting the surf and turf. He never asked how I wanted my steak do it came out well done. The spinach dip was good but that was it. Steak was overcooked and mashed potatoes were really lumpy. When he came to the table I thought he would ask if everything was ok. Instead he just said mmm that looks good and kept walking. My wife never got her salad and the waiter seemed confused when I asked him to take it off the bill. I did overhear some others at the hostess stand upset because nobody ever waited on them. Great new addition to downtown Lee's summit. Good food, service, and atmosphere. It was busy but quiet enough to hear conversation. Lots of tvs. Beer selection is OK. Patio is closed currently and hopefully will be open soon read more
