Stopped in as one of our PubPass stops. It was 4 pm so we had table choice , great service, and delicious food. Would do again.

Llewelyn isn't a girl I'd marry or commit to, but I'd take her on a few dates for sure. And I have, I've tried out this traditional Irish pub located in downtown Lee's Summit a few times. However, it's interesting to note it's never somewhere I sought out on purpose, I just always sort of end up there. Honestly, it's not my cuisine of choice, and I don't like Guinness much, but they have a good alternative selection of local craft beers- including a special exclusive brew from KC Bier Company (my memory could be off but I do know it was something that was local to kcmo and brewed solely for Llewelyn's. The drinks are where this pub tends to shine, and there's nothing wrong with that. The traditional appetizers aren't anything I'd order again except for the housemade chips, which are very thinly sliced and salty, but they're also a side you can add to the sandwiches. If you order them, make sure you order the side of cheese to dip and a side of horsersdish, if that fancies you. But, you can skip them. The fried pickles and the pub pretzels are quintessential bar appetizers that are executed okay, and if it's what you're craving, go ahead and order them, but don't expect to be impressed. Now, the sandwiches are pretty solid here. That is if you're not afraid to get a little bit messy because a lot of them, especially their take on an Irish Dip, are bound to fall apart and get your hands a little greasy. My tip is to make a trip during happy hour because my favorite thing on the menu is only available then. And that is the mini corned beef sliders served with a tangy (but not too spicy) giardiniera- if you ask nicely. These are nice little snack or light meal although, they could use some more melted cheese or horseradish because they're still a tad dry. Let's face it, Llewelyn could use a bit of a modern makeover, but, I guess what Irish pub do you know that isn't stuck in the past...and beyond dark inside? She fits the stereotype completely, but does that make her a good fit for you? That's what you have to ask yourself before you take Llewelyn out for a date yourself.

Custom ordered Cod Fish Sandwich

I will preface by saying that I had asked for a custom order, as the fish sandwich was not on the menu. I asked if instead of fish and chips, I could have a fish sandwich. The cook delivered 1,000% Llywelyn's Pub in Lee's Summit, Missouri, truly shines with its delectable cod fish sandwich. From the moment I took my first bite, I was transported to culinary bliss. The cod, perfectly flaky and tender, was enveloped in a light, crispy batter that added just the right amount of crunch. Every component of the sandwich, from the fresh lettuce to the tangy tartar sauce, harmonized beautifully to create a symphony of flavors. Paired with a side of golden fries, this dish is a true testament to Llywelyn's commitment to quality and excellence in pub fare. Whether you're a seafood aficionado or just looking for a satisfying meal, the cod fish sandwich at Llywelyn's Pub is sure to leave you craving more. The restaurant was alive for St. Patty's day with good music and excellent service! P.S. shepherd's pie was amazing.

Vegan options include a modified salad or the impossible patty. The pub burger is recommended as a local favorite!

Nice outdoor patio. Great to hang out with friend. Full bar outside. Tonight we just happens to pop on and saw a band playing. Love the lite glowing heart. We just had a couple of drinks before heading to another place. Service was good at the bar.

Bar character

The Reuben was good, fried pickles were good, service was good, the vibe is great. Old wood bar, live music, sports. What else do you want out of a bar? 10/10 I don't know about a better Irish pub in the KC/ MO area

Can't comment on the food but stopped in to check this place out because they are participating in the 2022 Pub Pass. Friendly bartender and fresh tap beers! What more could a girl want?!

We stopped in for Lunch on Mother's Day. They were not busy at all. We ordered the Welsh Rarebit for an app and it served almost cool, but thankfully the bacon was crispy this time. We had to ask for silverware, napkins and appetizer plates. The little one and I split the adult grilled cheese with bacon and fries. The sandwich was large (enough for sharing) and very, very tasty. We had empty drinks sever times and had to ask for refills. I want to be able to give this place more than 3 stars, but the service needs to step up their game.

Llywelyn's Pub gets 5 stars from me! Massive beer selection and great outdoor bar and patio when it's nice out. Friendly service and plenty of local Boulevard Brewing options to choose from. I'd highly recommend if you're in the area.

I see why it was empty on a Sunday afternoon. Food was not good....I guess this is more of a bar place for sure.

Scotch Eggs in Leawood?…read more Located in a suburban strip mall around 129th and State Line in Leawood, there is ample parking in the communal lot. Stepping inside the atmosphere is that of a real (modern) Irish pub, with a full bar and comfortable tables. An old wood and leather feel that sets the stage for authentic Irish fare. Having been to their restaurant in Westwood, I have to say that I like this location better - it just "feels" better. Being part of a group of about 20 for lunch, we were seated in a separate room which made socializing easy without bothering the other customers. After being welcomed by our waiter, menus passed out and drink orders taken, we were informed that their chef was from Dublan and that dishes were made fresh in-house. While I did see Scotch Eggs (I like to think of them as an Irish version of an Egg McMuffin) on the menu, I jumped on their Fish & Chips. The breaded North Atlantic Cod was moist and flakey at the same time, with a great flavor. Included was slaw, mushy peas, and their house cut fries (all very tasty). A dash of malt vinegar and a squeeze of lemon later and I was loving it all! Portions were all pretty large, so come hungry and expect to leave satisfied. Prices are well within expectations considering quality of service, food, and atmosphere. Having been a waiter "back in the day" I was impressed with the friendly and efficient service. Not once did I see anyone waiting overly long for drink refills or their meals. That is very comforting during these "post COVID" times of reopening and short staffing. Kudo's to all involved. It is nice to see a true Irish pub in the middle of Leawood. With this one and the one on Rainbow being about the same distance from my Lee's Summit home, expect to see me returning often. Next time I will try their Scotch Eggs!

Place is the bomb. Food is amazing, atmosphere is perfect and the service is the best.read more

It seems to stay pretty busy, so we always make a reservation and are seated quickly when we arrive. The staff is friendly, and the food and drinks are good. This time, my son and I split a smoked BBQ burger with a side of mac and cheese. I liked that they split it for us before bringing it out. We subbed the fries for mac and cheese since we had already ordered the loaded BBQ fries appetizer, which we really liked. I do wish the fries had been fried a little harder before being loaded, but overall it was a good choice and plenty to share. A new holiday tradition in the making... we'll be back next season.
