Our favorite local bar and live music as well!!! Tried out Jell-O shots last night - woot woot!

What a quaint Irish pub!! We met here for a book club and they were able to put us in a back room separate from everyone else! It was actually very scenic with stone, but it did feel like a break room maybe? Still nice to have had a separate room! Food was great! Most my party went with fish and chips being a classic pub dish! My mom had me try her Shepards pie and it was delicious, I had never try it but it seems like the perfect fall dish for sure. I ordered the smash burger and it was good, the cheese was crunchy in some areas which I like but my bun was burnt just a little too much. Fries were phenomenal, perfect cut! The waitress even took our picture outside! We definitely come back in the fall to order their shepards pie. Great addition to downtown parkville!

This place is a hidden gem! The ambience is so fun, truly a classic Irish pub. I got the Rueben, our server said it was the best in KC and he wasn't lying! It was delicious, and the fries were also a 10/10. The meat on the Reuben is a little thick which I'm not used to but it was still super good. My Fiancé got the grilled chicken sandwich and really enjoyed it as well!

Cute, quaint little Irish pub. Front of bar windows roll up for nice weather enjoyment. They serve some pub fare and drinks. I was told they have live music on the weekends so I'll have to stop by and check it out.

I came here on a Friday evening. I was able to sit at the bar quickly and order my meal. For a Friday the place was quiet. I order the Reuben whenever I try a new restaurant, I mean you can't screw up a Reuben can you? These guys came close. Wasn't a big fan of the slices of meat, it was tough to chew through and made a mess of 1000 island, bread and meat on my plate. I still give them 4 stars because the servers were quick and friendly. I'd still come back to try other entrees.

Happy friends enjoying Irish drinks

The Craic is well themed and has tasty traditionally Irish drinks. But boy is it loud. The front being open means you hear EVERY freight train passing by. Aside from that we enjoyed Irish coffees, black n tans, and some speciality drinks. I could have spent a few more hours in this little pub but they close early in my opinion (11pm on a Friday night). Idk if that's a KC thing. But still enjoyed.

We stumbled onto this place by accident. What a happy accident I tell you. We were house hunting north of downtown Parkville. We had heard how quaint this town is, and we decided to drive through. Not just drive through but decided to stop in at this Irish Pub where we had one of the best poutines to hit our belly. The best part of Craic was Steven, the bartender/creator and master!! Creating and putting a twist on everyday alcohol drinks and mastering new creations. I had a raspberry mojito that tasted like raspberry ice cream as well as Steven's famous hibiscus sour. We are already planning on going back in a few days.

Limited menu but done well. Fish & chips were excellent! Nice cocktail menu too. Excellent staff. Cozy fun Irish pub in very cool downtown Parkview!

Had a great Sunday dinner here! The fries were so crispy. Would come back for the fries alone. A friend had the lamb/beef burger and loved it. Another friend had the Shepard pie. I had fish and chips. It was good. Looked like a good place to watch a game at the bar. They had several beers on tap but even more canned and bottled options.

Friday night was our first visit to Craic (pronounced crack) in downtown Parkville. It translates for "fun." We were so impressed, we're coming back next weekend and have reserved their private dining room. The restaurant, which describes its menu as "delicious pub fare with a special Irish flair," opened in late 2019. Hard to believe my Irish wife hadn't suggested we go there before this weekend. They've done an outstanding job updating a historic space, while maintaining that old school feel. It's an intimate place that probably holds about 30-40 at tables and the bar. On Friday and Saturday nights they have live music. The guitarist loves to play your suggestions, and a nice tip doesn't hurt. We were warmly welcomed by Steve and Haley. They gave the history on the place, plus tips on ordering. My wife who loves Irish whiskey was in her element that evening. We started with the amazing Sprout Chips, which are blanched and fired Brussel Sprout chips. Forget what you think of Brussel Sprouts, you will love this. Next time I'm trying the Poutine, fries covered with melted cheese curd and mushroom gravy. Many diners on Yelp suggested the Reuben sandwich and my wife couldn't agree more. I decided to try the Fish & Chips during Lent and loved the Guinness battered Haddock. I wish Parkville had 10 more restaurants like this. If it did, the downtown would be rocking on the weekend.

We were immediately greeted by the guy behind the bar when we entered. This place has a cozy feel to it. It's not huge but you can tell there's a lot of love in there. The service was so prompt and handled with true care. You could just tell the people working actually enjoyed what they did. In a world where everyone is short staffed it felt good to sit in a place that felt the opposite. The food was amazing!!! Definitely homemade and definitely fresh. We went here on a whim, but we will most certainly be back!

Since they were close by my hotel, I decided to check them out. Breit's did not disappoint. Upon entry, I definitely felt the local vibe. It seemed like everyone knew each other and I was a stranger. I struck up a conversation with another patron and before I knew it, I was enjoying some great conversation with my fellow patron and the bartenders. I wasn't there long... maybe an hour and a half, but by the time I left there, I was feeling like a local- the staff could not have been nicer! The Reuben sandwich was great, the bread was nicely toasted and the pastrami was tender and flavorful, and it came with chips. Pair that with a couple of nice cold beers, and I was a happy camper. Will definitely return here anytime I'm in the Kansas City area.

You seated yourself and there were a couple of people at the bar and maybe a few people at another table inside when we arrived. The woman from the bar took shortly after we sat down. I originally ordered the Muffaletta and was excited to try it since I moved here from NOLA a couple of years back but it's pre-made and the bread can't be toasted which is my preference so I changed to the KC Rueben which is $12.95 for the sandwich with no side. I chose not to add a side for extra cost. I also requested it with no 100O island dressing because I do not like it. It was good. The burnt ends were flavorful and I like that the slaw is vinegar based and not overly sweet. It can on tasted deli sz bread cut in half. I wasn't very hungry so I only ate half and saved the other half. It is not a great sandwich to save because it was not great as a leftover. Too squishy. There's not a large amount of burnt ends and with a small tip and tax (I just got water), I spent about $17. I think I will probably try something else next time. My friends liked their Reuben's and build your own sandwiches.

We went for later lunch and this place was crowded with diners, always a good sign. The lunch restaurant week menu really intrigued me because it was one of the 3 course options for $20. First course- luscious butternut squash soup One of my all time favorite soups and this one didn't disappoint, I love the autumnal flavors of this soup. The nuttiness shined through the silky smooth soup filled with the richness of cream. It was seasoned wonderfully balancing the inherent sweetness with the right amount of salt and herbs. I would drink this soup up by the gallon. Second course- Classic Chicken Picatta I loved how light this dish was, instead of being breaded it was tender moist chicken, yes it may look a little anemic but it wasn't lacking flavor. The bright lemon caper sauce brought like to the chicken. The abundance of capers made me so happy, they provided a tangy briny profile. The smooth as butter mashed potatoes just soaked up that succulent sauce and every bite had such a luscious mouth feel. This was an elevated comfort dish. Dessert- crème brûlée Now I'm not a dessert girl so I'm not a crème brûlée connoisseur but, it had a nice crackly sugar shell with a decadent eggy custard. The ripe berries were simple but added freshness to richness of the custard.

Odd. We appreciated the heads up however, I feel like they were really wanting us to turn around and leave as the restaurant seemed overwhelmed. We stayed as it was too late in day to go elsewhere. The kitchen was indeed backed up, no silverware provided had to ask, and our server said to order right away if we wanted to get our food. They were out of some items. Took 45 minutes for food to arrive. However, the staff was apologetic, even though it took awhile to be served the meal itself was acceptable --the pork chop, surf and turf, braised meat, and pizza were all hits. Server had to confirm with kitchen if they were still serving dessert, we were able to order. The desserts consisted of banana coconut pie which basically pudding & bananas in a bowl, tiramisu, and Keylime, all were just okay not worth $. The patio is beautiful and perfect for a nice day. It is very expensive, so we'll save it for special personal occasions not a national holiday/special day, but the food quality makes it worth a return visit.

Parker Hollow - A Must-Visit Gem in Downtown Parkville My…read morewife and I had the pleasure of dining at Parker Hollow last night, the brand-new spot in downtown Parkville, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. We were lucky enough to snag seats at the Chef's Table, which put us right in the heart of the action--and it's hands-down the best way to experience this restaurant. Owner Johnathon Justus greeted us warmly and spent the evening guiding us through the menu with genuine enthusiasm and expertise. His passion for the food and the space is infectious, and he made us feel like VIPs the entire time. The remodel and decor are stunning--modern yet cozy, with thoughtful details that make the dining room feel both elegant and welcoming. Every corner of the restaurant reflects the care that went into bringing Parker Hollow to life. Service was impeccable: attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly. The drinks were spot-on--creative, balanced, and perfectly executed. Now, the food--where do I even start? * I kicked things off with the Caesar salad topped with catfish nuggets. The nuggets were crispy, flavorful, and a fun twist on a classic. * My main was the hangar steak, cooked to absolute perfection (medium-rare, juicy, and tender) alongside crispy French fries that were golden, salty, and addictive. * Johnathon surprised us with a complimentary bite of crispy skin salmon with an Asian dipping sauce--flaky, rich, and that sauce? Chef's kiss. My wife ordered the octopus and pecan blue cheese salad, and she hasn't stopped raving about it. The octopus was tender, perfectly charred, and seasoned just right--easily the best she's ever had. The blue cheese and pecans added a wonderful crunch and depth. The cooks at the Chef's Table were just as engaging as Johnathon, happily walking us through their techniques and answering all our questions. It felt like dining with friends who happen to be culinary wizards. Verdict: Parker Hollow is a 5-star experience through and through. The Chef's Table is a must if you can book it. We're already planning our return--this time to try the fish collar. If you're in the Parkville area, do yourself a favor and go. You won't regret it.

Bringing Jonathan Justus's culinary talent back to the Northland feels like a win for the entire area--and from a selfish standpoint, having a raw bar this close to home is a real bonus. The space itself has been beautifully reimagined from its former Italian roots. The bar and chef's table anchor the first floor, while the dining room upstairs feels intimate and inviting. Thoughtful holiday décor and warm music gave the evening a comfortable, almost at-home feel--upscale without being stuffy. We had an early 5:30 p.m. Wednesday reservation. A few guests were already seated when we arrived, and by the time we left, every table was full--always a good sign for a restaurant just three months in. We started with the Pecan Pear Salad, followed by the Steamed Mussels, and finished with the Salmon. The salad was a standout--my wife especially loved the pears, which added a perfect balance of sweetness and texture. The mussels arrived in a tangy parmesan broth with vegetables and were plentiful--15 mussels in the bowl. A couple of small details would have elevated the experience: small forks for the mussels, a separate bowl for empty shells, and perhaps more baguettes. The baguette itself was heavily grilled, which slightly overpowered the broth. I had seen a video of the Scottish Salmon before our visit, beautifully plated, so presentation-wise it didn't quite match that expectation last night. That said, the portion was generous, and the salmon itself was tender, juicy, and well-prepared, which ultimately matters most. Dessert is where Parker Hollow truly shines. We ordered the Sherry and Thyme Poached Pear and the Pecan Coconut Tart, and both were exceptional. The pear dessert, in particular, was a work of art--visually stunning and perfectly balanced in flavor. Service throughout the evening was friendly and attentive. Given that all food has to be carried upstairs, the pacing was solid overall. The only notable delay was with our cocktails, which took longer than expected to arrive. All in all, Parker Hollow feels like a confident addition to the Parkville dining scene--polished, welcoming, and clearly finding its rhythm. We're looking forward to returning, especially to explore more of the menu and the raw bar.
