This spot is solid every time we go there. Good food and the kitchen is pretty quick with the everything. The staff and attentive and helpful! It's pretty bare inside but it gives a nice bar and grill vibe. For sure will be coming back

We are on a KC Adventure outing and Mason Jar randomly popped up on Yelp. After looking at the reviews it was a no brainer to stop in for lunch. There was a slow start after being seated as no one had told our server she had a new table. However, that was soon forgotten as she took great care of us. We were drawn in by the reviews of the Tater Kegs (a MUST!) which we followed up with a Bacon & Bleu Burger with Sweet Potato fries. We enjoyed them both. There is plenty of space to come with a large group. The customers were of all ages and it seemed some customers were regulars. We liked that there were lots of windows so we appreciated not being in a dark place on a sunny hot afternoon. We plan to go back even though we don't live by.

We had a great time again at the Mason Jar! On this visit we tried the black and blue burger, and a pork tenderloin. Neither of these are our favorites compared to other items we've tried, but they were both good! The cocktail jar of the month was some sort of cotton candy, and it did not appeal, so we both got draft beers. They were very cold and served in chilled pint glasses. The service was great, we really enjoyed our server, I'm sorry I forget her name. It was starting to get pretty busy, it looked like a baseball game had finished up nearby, and I believe sporting KC played that night. We got our food quickly, and everything was fresh and hot. The restaurant is super clean, and the host was very nice as well.

My wife and I ate dinner here before a meeting we went to. We've been here before, but it's been a while. We sat at the bar which had a multitude of TV screens to view. The service was decent. I had some mac n cheese. It was exceptional. By far, the best thing I ate. I was disappointed that the mashed potatoes were cold. The chicken tenders were good. My wife said her burger was overcooked. She ordered a medium Black & Blue burger. The fries were also cold. I ordered a strawberry margarita w/ and extra shot. It wasn't as strong as I'd hoped. But I would return in the future.

While on the road to visit family and friends, we ate here for lunch. It was a memorable experience, and I am glad that we came for some good comfort food. The waitresses were friendly and the place was clean. They had a nice selection of local beer. What really made the experience notable was the ambiance with its unique theme.

My wife and I were in the area so we decided to give them a try. Everyone was nice and helpful from the time we walked in. They were great at answering all our questions. The food and drinks were great. My wife had a Pineapple Whip with Sprite instead of Red Bull and I tried the Torn Label Alpha Pale Ale. For our food, the wife had chicken tenders and fries. The breading was seasoned just right. I had a burger called the Jr. I had it cooked medium, which was perfect. Overall we thought it was a cool place and plan to go back.

Second time eating here, both times have been so happy with our visits. I need to add this restaurant to our rotation on a more regular basis. Legit burger options! Love that they offer to sub a plant based option for my vegetarian kid. The fish and chips were tasty. Which is hard to find here in the Midwest. Staff is attentive and pleasant. Restaurant is clean and well kept.

Cup of their delicious meaty chili with sour cream, cheddar cheese and green onion.

The fresh Fish n chips were really good BUT the thick, meaty house made Chili won my heart. You can stand a spoon up in it and it's so flavorful with just the right spice and a few beans sprinkled in. Our first visit here from Wichita. Busy for an early Wednesday but was seated immediately and service was excellent. Clean place with plenty of space to sit and eat comfortably. Nice Bar area as well.

New Month...New Food Specials I love new menu items, so of course I had to try Mason Jars April special. Here is what is being featured this month... Jar of the Month Berry Loco: sugar-rimmed glass with a mix of Malibu Coconut Rum and blueberry purée...Pure Perfection. Refreshing, sweet and screams spring! Burger of the Month The Ranchacado: fresh tasting patty, topped with a fried avocado, melted pepperjack, lettuce, tomato, bacon and drizzled with the house-made avocado ranch. So good words don't do it justice. He told me about this spot so I went and picked us up some lunch. He ordered oxtails and grits with a side of cabbage and some peach cobbler. I ordered the tackle box with shrimp, fish and chicken wings and a side of greens. I thought I was getting fries and greens, but I only got the greens and they were okay, but I gave them to my brother. The cabbage was also just OK because there wasn't much juice in them, so they were pretty dry. Everything else was absolutely delicious. I had never had Basa fish, but I loved it loved it loved it ! I will definitely go back when I am in town next. Matter fact, I ordered two to go plates: oxtail and grits for my son and Basa fish and yams for his wife. They loved their orders as well. My only recommendation would be that they put the grits and oxtails in a different kind of container. Even though it was double bagged the Styrofoam does not accommodate the grits. Customer service was great. The tall young man who served me made a little mistake on my ticket, but it was OK. They fixed it....everybody was nice. Totally enjoyed myself.

I ordered the three rib plate, which include included burnt ends, and smoked sausage. I also had mac & cheese and a cornbread muffin as a side. The ribs were cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. The burnt ends had a good smoke flavor and we're very tender, but we're cold. The sausage was also a bit cold. The mac & cheese was cold and so the consistency was gummy. To be fair, I arrived close to 7 PM. I would come back and try it earlier in the night and would want to try some of the other offerings they have, because you can tell they do a good job with cooking their barbecue

I give them major props for being a local restaurant at The Legends. In my experience, this area is…read moretypically overrun by chains and drive-thrus, so I was happy to stumble on this place, attached to NFM. That being said, it didn't all come together as hoped. We were a bit early to the dinner rush with our kids, and the place was empty with some muted TVs hovering around the atmosphere. We started with onion straws which was probably the best thing I had that night. Perfectly seasoned and lightly fried. I got the "Lightweight Platter" with two proteins and since ribs weren't an option, went brisket and chicken. Both were so dry they looked like Thanksgiving turkey once the Christmas lights are up. The edges were especially dry, to the point where I had trouble eating it. The flavor of the brisket was good, the chicken was not full of the smoky flavor one would hope for. To be perfectly honest, this felt like when I get BBQ well outside of Kansas City, not holding up against any of the classics or heavy hitters. My kids chicken tenders were surprisingly delicious (and moist), and made for nice leftovers too. So that was a plus. This ended up being our priciest meal of our little staycation, and unfortunately, one of the most forgettable. I see what they're going for, but until that meat gets raised up to a standard level for the midwest, I can't go much higher than 3 stars.
