This place has the #1 priority covered - great food! I thought this place got their name from the nearby highway until I stopped in for lunch. I now understand it is a homage to Magic Johnson's jersey number. How do I know this? The food is Magic. I have been a couple of times and cannot seem to get away from 2 items on the menu because they are excellent. The Stallone is a Philly that looks as good as Sly in Rambo. The taste does not disappoint. The onion rings are nearly good too. The New Heights Club is an excellent mixed of KC and Philly. Take a look at the picture of them getting ready to eat it! The place is not much to look at but who cares. If you like fancy ambiance you should not be looking at my reviews. I hate pretentious joints. For Seinfeld fans, the service gives "No Stallone for you vibes" but I will give them the benefit of doubt given the how hard it is to secure and retain good help these days. If you want your mouth to experience taste magic - go to Grill 32. If you want pretty castles - go to the Magic Kingdom.

The 32 classic double was great the 32 sauce was amazing! The fries need to be cooked fresh so next time I'll try the onion rings

My daughter and I were from out of town and was looking for a cute little place for breakfast. Ran across this name and sounded interesting and was 10 minutes away from where we were. So we went for it. SO GLAD THIS IS WHERE I FOUND!! Immediately walking in, it automatically had the small diner feel that I absolutely love. The aesthetic was amazing. Seriously, I love these kind of places! There's only 3 tables and a "bar" type along the wall. So it is small. But worth it. The food was no different. Definitely met my expectations for these little diners. Food was amazing. My daughter even ate all but a half slice of the French toast. The service was amazing and the woman serving was very friendly and kind. Highly recommend stopping in'

Oh wow! Let me start off by saying the French toast was the BEST I've ever had! It was so amazing I've never had French toast like it before. The service is great! Our waitress was super kind and a pleasure to chat with! I love the decor all over the place and it gives such a cozy feeling. If I'm ever in the area this will be the breakfast spot.

Don't let the outside fool you. This place only sits 16. If you want a place to go where the staff is extremely friendly and you get an excellent traditional breakfast this is the right place. I had the 32 Special. My wife had the jerk chicken burrito. We couldn't have asked for a more clean, friendly and welcoming environment to go along with a top notch breakfast!

Visited three times so far. The 1930 burger is excellent and the Stallone cheesesteak was good too. Owners are nice and friendly!

Excellent tiny diner in Edwardsville. Serving delicious cooked order smash burgers that come about 10 different ways and delightful sandwiches. I had the 1932 Smashburger it was delicious and they had no problem subbing in a side salad for the fries. (allergies I have food allergies, and I cannot eat their french fries cause they fry shrimp in the same fryer ). They handled my food, allergies. Great. No problems. It was also a pretty good side salad no iceberg- baby greens and tomatoes and cheese. Highly recommend if you're nearby.

It's a lovely restaurant. It seems a bit out of the way with mostly corporate buildings around. The restaurant has a nice modern aesthetic. I like the purple hyacinths hanging from the ceiling in one area. It was very steady for an off time in the afternoon. First, our server Olivia was amazing! Very attentive and we were extra needy this day so I really appreciate her patience. We even dropped food on the floor. Oops! She was so nice about it and cleaned it up immediately. We had customizations and extra requests. No problem for her! She went above and beyond. I hope she sees this because she was such a joy! The food was also very good. We started with the biscuits and one peach compote and one blueberry. Both were yummy. They were traditional drop biscuits and I love a good biscuit! We also had an order of fried green tomatoes on goat cheese grits. You get 4 very large slices. I could only eat one. The grits were yummy but there were not enough of them in relation to the friend green tomatoes. They were also encased by a sauce. I'm guessing a remoulade. I don't really care for remoulade sauce so I'd have removed it had I known it came with the dish. It really overpowered the goat cheese taste in the grits. The tomatoes were very al dente and I would have preferred them cooked a bit more. The dish was still good but my least favorite and I would normally love anything with those ingredients and fried green tomatoes are a favorite so the remoulade (or whatever it was) sauce was a real problem for me. I would definitely get them again without the sauce because they are great otherwise. But that sauce just overpowers every other flavor! I got the chicken tender dinner and others in my party got the bone in fried chicken. Everyone liked their chicken. The tenders were a big size. 4 of them but I hit 2 meals out of them. Everyone liked the Parmesan rosemary potatoes. I really liked the bacon green beans. The only side we weren't impressed with was the Mac and cheese unfortunately. The cheese was not good. We got coffees and a chai. All of them were very good. A bit pricey for the amount you get though. Even with the smaller complaints, I'd still give th a 5 because of the outstanding service and the dishes were overall very good and large portions. We will definitely return and I hope to try out a breakfast item next visit!

However, things got interesting with their Tequila/Cold Brew/Liquor 43 concoction. Topped with an egg foam cap, it was actually pretty solid. A bit of a gamble, but sometimes you have to roll the dice when the menu is trying that hard. The Culinary "Hit and Miss" Then came the food, or as I like to call it: The Great Consistency Crisis. The Steak: I asked for medium-rare; I received medium-well with a "char" that felt more like a personal vendetta against the cow. The Potatoes: Apparently, potato portions are determined by a lottery system. I received about half the amount of the person next to me. Maybe I didn't look hungry enough? The Eggs: My over-easy eggs had crispy, hard edges and arrived at a temperature I'd describe as "lukewarm at best." We also had to hunt down salt and pepper like we were on a scavenger hunt. Honestly, I probably should have just hit the buffet and cut out the middleman. The Service Our server was perfectly nice, but he appeared to be roughly twelve years old. Since he wasn't legally old enough to understand the complexity of a craft cocktail, he couldn't give us any info on the drink menu. We just had to "go with our gut"--which is a dangerous game when tequila and cold brew are involved. The Verdict I'm not saying I won't be back, but consider this a fair warning: if Round 2 involves another charred steak and a side of "room temperature" eggs, I'll be sending it back for a rerun faster than a shanked drive into the woods. 3/5 Stars -- Great for people-watching, questionable for potato-equity.

A Hidden Gem Worth Finding…read more The day after the World Cup Final, we needed to find a place for lunch near our Airbnb. Sometimes those unplanned stops turn into the best discoveries, and that's exactly what happened at The Glass Cat. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by Berkley, our server. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel right at home. She knew the menu well and wasn't shy about making recommendations, which always earns extra points in my book. She told us The Glass Cat is known for their biscuits. I laughed and admitted, "I'm really not a biscuit guy." She smiled and insisted I at least try a half order. Well... she was right that they were good, but I've officially confirmed I'm still just not a biscuit guy. Nothing against theirs--I think I'm simply impossible to impress when it comes to biscuits! Since I'm familiar with this part of the country, I couldn't pass up the Tenderloin Sandwich. It wasn't exactly like the classic pork tenderloin sandwiches I've had elsewhere, but it was absolutely delicious. The pork was tender, the toppings were fresh, and the fries were cooked exactly the way I like them--golden brown with a nice crisp on the outside. At Berkley's recommendation, my wife ordered the Egg, Cheese & Bacon Biscuit with hash browns. She wasn't kidding about the bacon--it was thick, smoky, and full of flavor. I stole a bite (as good husbands do), and it was a really tasty breakfast sandwich. The hash browns were another highlight--crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked. While we ate, we soaked in the local atmosphere. It was fun listening to everyone engage in a conversation. My wife and I discussed making our plans for the day and return trip for tomorrow. We made a quick stop at the nearby Price Chopper to grab a few things for the Airbnb. The Glass Cat Cafe may be a little off the beaten path, but that's often where you find the best local restaurants. Good food, generous portions, outstanding service, and a relaxed hometown vibe made this a memorable stop. I'd absolutely come back the next time I'm in the area. Chef T's Scorecard: * Food: 9/10 * ‍ Service: 10/10 (Thanks, Berkley!) * Value: 9/10 * Atmosphere: 8.5/10 Overall: Sometimes the best meals aren't found where everyone else is eating--they're found where the locals are. Our waiter was fantastic, but he was clearly stretched thin--handling seating, bar duties, takeout orders, and multiple tables all at once.
