The menu is very different, the sizes are smaller, and the quality has gone down. The last time I was here was still the old menu, and it was decent, but the service was atrocious. It took forty minutes to get two salads and a sandwich to go, and the restaurant was empty except for one couple dining in and another takeout order (who ordered after me but got their food before me). There were two front of house employees and at least three people in the kitchen. Today, the menu was really different, many new options were not enticing, and the size of the sandwich that I was really glad to still see on the menu was half the size it used to be. I mentioned that the menu changed and how sad I was about it, but then the cashier didn't mention that the sandwich was going to be much smaller than what I was expecting. I would have happily bought more food if I had known, but now I just feel tricked and disappointed. Major bummer. :(

They accommodated us quickly got us our drinks, and took our order in a speedy manor. It took a bit for the food to come out, but they were making 12 orders to come out at roughly the same time, so no worries there. Chicken fried steak, eggs over medium, grits (asked for cheese on top), biscuit (no gravy). The food came out and it was a nice plate. The steak wasn't the largest I've seen by any means (they often take up the whole plate but this one was about 1/3-1/2). Eggs were well cooked--over medium being still runny yolk, but the whites are solid w/no slime to them. They nailed those eggs. The steak was good, the breading was wonderful--large flakey batter, fried perfectly, decent flavor, though it certainly was meant to need that gravy. Gravy was great, not sweet at all (yeah, I've had sweet sausage gravy before, ick) and seasoned well. I just had to add pepper for my own tastes, but no salt of anything else. Even though my initial impression was that it was slightly small, it was delicious and honestly, perfectly filling--I'm trying to lose weight and eat smaller portions (down 22lbs, yay) so maybe they were secretly helping me. The grits were great, however I didn't get my cheese. They were cooked well, not mushy or slimy, not "gritty" from undercook. Good stuff. As for the missing cheese, that's OK, I mixed in some of the leftover gravy from the steak (there was plenty) and that made them absolutely delicious. The biscuit was large and clearly homemade. Great thin crust and very fluffy on the inside. Enough butter flavor built in they were very easily eaten by themselves or with any condiment you could want. Very good biscuits! The ladies were good about keeping up with us and our refills and were fun and flirty the whole time, making us feel like regulars (well, some of us were regulars, so I just rode their coattails for the attention). The parking lot is a minefield, but if you find the space to wedge a car, you've found a parking spot. Would absolutely go back.

Not only are they fluffy, they are also HUGE! I have never been able to finish 2 of them in one sitting. Hands down best pancakes on Earth! So large that I am not hungry again until dinner. The staff is very attentive and always on point and delivers service with a smile. The building is old but always clean and reminds me of a dive bar. I am an over-the-road trucker and struggle to find parking if it's after 7:00 PM. I found this using one of my trucking apps as a potential parking location that accepts overnight parking. I got here and found a large parking area, easy to pull into, and not another semi in sight. I woke up to an open restaurant with a few customers inside. Upon entering, a friendly woman welcomed me into a meticulously clean diner. Pictured is a loaded omelet with ham, Hashbrowns, and coffee. Stop here if you are passing through. I reported the issue in good faith, expecting it to be taken seriously. Instead, based on my experience, it did not appear that any meaningful action was taken. It's disappointing to see a business seemingly overlook conduct like this rather than address it appropriately. Their lack of accountability completely changed my opinion of this business, and I can't recommend supporting a company that appears to treat concerns like this so casually.

The bacon was crispy and perfect paired over the best biscuit. Even better than our meal was our waitress. Exceptionally quick witted and seemed to know everyone else in the restaurant but that didn't stop her from giving us so much attention and making us feel right at home.
