We recently lost our dog and have been trying to get out of the house more. We found Lizzy Kate during the snow storm in late December 2021 after we ventured out trying to distract ourselves. Not much was open, but they were! Since then, we've gone at least five times. I've always been intrigued by loose leaf tea, but not going to lie, a bit too lazy to use it. At Lizzy Kate they have just about every type and flavor under the sun. On the back wall where you can get loose leaf, they also have small vials to smell all the offerings. The main reason I like to go is the offerings they have for their tea bar. It's essentially like a coffee shop, but all tea! They have lots of different offerings and various lattes. As we are creatures of habit, we order the same thing every time. One of these days I'll try for something else, but hey, it's hard to go wrong with something you know you'll like! I get the 16oz London Fog with oat milk (also has vanilla added), and my husband gets a 16oz Dublin Draught which is Irish breakfast with oatmilk and caramel. We've both tried each other's and love each one, I just prefer mine since it's a tad less sweet (you could always ask for less sweetener though). They have several different options for vegan milk as well- including soy, almond and oat (oatly! The best). Ive always found the staff to be really nice and friendly as well, and if you ask, they'll share their favorites and suggestions. They recommended I try matcha (I've been wanting to) as a matcha latte so that's on my list for next time. With having a hard few weeks, Lizzy Kate has been just what we needed and super comforting. read more

Great tea shop across the street from our hotel in downtown Kirkland. We had never been here and the staff was very helpful and friendly. They let us sample and smell some teas before we made our choice. We shared a pot of strawberry herbal tea which tasted almost like dessert - so good. Other cool things: They have a fast brew system that brews teas within minutes, but the tea is full-bodied and flavorful. All teas can be prepared hot or cold or in latte form. Yum! Visited with my friend while walking in Kirkland - I got a Vanilla Butterscotch Latte and it was lovely! They have a whole wall of teas and one of those sliding library ladders to go around and pull down whatever tea you might want. Their Lattes appear to be all tea based (makes sense!) and it's a nice change to see so many non-coffee options at a cafe like this. Seems like an ok place to work with a laptop, I saw one person working there and it stayed pretty quiet throughout our visit. This is one of kind tea shop. From European to Asian, they sell teas that you might like. Also, watching their $40,000 (estimated) tea brewing machine is just a joy. This modernized machine can brew teas in way faster time and taste is just right (does not leave the bitter taste). They provide friendly service and explain about teas they carry. You can even ask how they started their business (from online to a physical store). Only thing I know people might complain is the price. To me, if we pay for a cup of coffee for $3 to $5, why having to pay for a tea for a similar price is a problem? Wonderful tea spot with the most amazing brewing machine. I don't know how to explain it, but it percolates the tea I think? All I know is it turns out wonderful and I wish I had one at home. They also have some little snacks and tea themed gifts for purchase. Their tea selection varies a little, but they have an amazing array of white, black, green and herbal teas. On friday and saturday evenings they do a $5 tea flight. There is usually a theme and you can drink as much as you like of those 5 or so varieties. Only reason I marked down a star is it is kinda pricey, but the teas a high quality so you get what you pay for. Definitely worth stopping by and checking out for a tea fan. read more

I came here for the second time last weekend after several years. I saw a sign for the rare green tea flight while on a walk with my baby and was intrigued. The variety of green teas was very interesting. I did not know that they could have so many flavors for green tea. The owners were wonderful and explaining the background of the teas and were very knowledgeable. I really enjoyed trying the different kinds and learning about that as well. I actually ended up stopping by today as well after trying the flight over the weekend to get one of the teas again. I am going to come here more often now, and wish I had come here sooner rather than later! There are other teas that intrigue me such as the butterscotch. It is an amazingly clean, bright and calming tea and coffeeshop. The staff are polite, courteous, super helpful. As a matter of fact, I had no idea what to order and the barista helped a lot. I wanted a Latte and you can order it with whatever type of tea that you like. I chose Paris Blend and it had this lovely aroma of vanilla in it. She asked if 2% milk would be ok and I loved that I was given an option. The tea was nothing extraordinary, but overall, it was ok. Super super clean!!!! Loved it! They also have tea flights on Fridays apparently and they happened to have it on the Saturday I went there. Tea flights are $5. Lizzie Kate is a brand new tea shop run by Will and Amy in downtown Kirkland. It has a very modern and minimalist design to it which really caught my eye. It is a bright, modern welcoming tea shop with a very large selection of teas. I liked the arrangement of the tiles on the floor and how they added to atmosphere of the shop. There are easily over 100 different types of tea including white, green, black, oolong and flavored teas. Each section of teas on the wall is color coated which adds a nice splash of color to the shop. I decided to get the Jasmine pearls and was surprised when will started to prepare my tea with a very interesting gadget. The machine Will used is a Bkon Reverse Atmospheric Infuser (RAIN) which creates a vacuum to speed up the extraction process so you will not have to wait too long for your tea. This simple yet powerful invention uses a vacuum to remove air trapped in the cellular structure of organic material like tea. The result is an infusion process different from the typical process you find at most tea houses. It extracts a significantly greater number of compounds from the tea which some say produces a more complex, full bodied and balanced cup of tea. I think my Jasmine Pearls tasted pretty good! It was $5.75 for a 16oz cup of rare tea so including tax it was $6.29. They have both hot and cold teas available. Besides ordering tea in the shop you can also purchase bags of tea to take home. They had bags, tins and even test tubes filled with tea. I thought the test tubes were a really cute idea. It reminded me of a store I was at in Tokyo. They also have decanters and thermos type cups with lids for taking your tea on the road. They had some cute teapot sugar cookies available for free which are shaped like the tea pot in their logo. They looked like they were professionally made. The service was excellent and Will was friendly and very eager to help. Amy was also very friendly and I really appreciated their knowledge about the teas they have in Lizzie Kate. I am excited to come back and try some different teas next time. Trying for the first time, and the tea is DELICIOUS!! I tried the Cinnamon Spice (unsweetened & hot). I was very impressed by the perfect balance of sweet & spice - naturally sweetened so no added sugar necessary. Very impressed by the tea quality & quick brewing method, customer service, Wi-Fi, and the clean modern look of this place. I have only a few things missing that would have made this a five star rating for me... * No Cozy Chairs. This is often a a deal breaker when I'm thinking of where I'd like to enjoy a tea or coffee for a long book reading session or talk with a friend. Not one seat here is cushioned & there is too much competing places around to not have this element. I'd LOVE to see couches or at least cushioned chairs. * I'd love to see more food/snack pairings (I only noticed 2). Loved that they had a Gluten Free option, but again- too much competing cafés around who do offer this. (Vegan/Gf always a plus!) * Music could be a tad louder to drown out conversations...I heard every detail & couldn't focus on my book. Not your fault though. I think if these changes were made come fall, this place will really have some devoted tea addicts! read more

A large selection of teas that they welcome you to smell on request, in addition to vials of tea leaves readily available in front of prepackaged tea for sale. They also have a unique menu of tea latte combos that go way past the typical london fog or chai tea latte. My favorite latte prepared hot is the Chestnut peppermint, and the cinful latte is absolutely killer iced. And I must mention the Dublin latte and the matcha latte, which I like both hot or iced. Those are always available, but when they have speciality lattes I usually try them out to and it's always great! What makes LizzyKate really stand out are their events and partnerships. They host tea flights where you get to try a variety of their teas, tea workshops, fun events such as teas & tattoos, and my favorite is when they have guest bakeries prepare sweets. They regularly have wagashi (I think every other Friday? Or maybe one Friday a month?) that look like those found in Tokyo! Overall LizzyKate is an awesome tea shop, but what makes them a Kirkland staple and worth returning to again and again is that you never know what you'll find! We have explored a lot of different tea places in the Seattle area and where ever we happen to be at the time. I love this place! They serve great tea. Really nice quality and interesting combinations. Everyone there is so welcoming and friendly. They also have really cool tea brewing machines that are fun to watch and brew tea really quickly! I particularly enjoy the tea flights in the weekends. For just $5 you can try 5 different teas and compare them side-by-side. It's a great way to get to know different types of teas and try new things. I wish they started a little earlier because sometimes the afternoon caffeine keeps me awake later. But they are really fun! At first I didn't actually realise they sell food - it is further along the counter. They have some very tasty local baking! Their early gray is amazing -- and makes for an even more amazing London Fog. The Sleepy in Seattle herbal blend has become an evening ritual at home. Really nice tea shop in the heart of downtown Kirkland! Their varieties are really yummy and everyone will be able to find something they like. The orange almond sencha is my fave. Watching their fancy brewing machine is so fun too! It would be nice if there were dedicated parking, but parking trouble seems to be a necessary evil for Kirkland. read more

I'm a tea lover, so I've visited LizzyKate 3-4 times now to enjoy their huge variety of teas. The choices on the wall (conveniently color-coded) can get overwhelming, but the staff is good at making recommendations and will even let you sample the scent of a tea before you try it. I love meeting a friend here and either sitting in the shop or going for a stroll. The interior is relatively small, but so far they've never been so busy that I couldn't find seating for 1-2 people. You might have to be more careful if you're with a large group. The one downside is no customer parking but that's typical for places in Kirkland. read more
