The open concept really creates a sense of community and makes for really fun people watching, though I didn't get a lot of reading done. I ordered an iced oat milk caramel macchiato which tasted phenomenal with a perfect juxtaposition between the sweet caramel and bold espresso. I loved my coffee and my boyfriend enjoyed his tea. THRULINE COFFEE @ DOWNTOWN KIRKLAND Parking is available along the street, and there are also multiple parking lots throughout downtown Kirkland. I ended up parking near the small plaza with the UPS Store and Nothing Bundt Cakes, and it was only about a 3-minute walk to get there. When I walked in around 9:30 AM on a Tuesday, it was already pretty packed. There were a lot of people on their laptops, grabbing coffee, and just hanging out, it felt super lively. I love the overall environment of downtown Kirkland, so I was really excited to finally try this spot since it's been on my radar for a while. I was also meeting a friend, which made the experience even better. I ordered their pizza scone, and it looked so good, and it definitely delivered. It was warm, crusty, and had such a unique flavor combination. I've honestly never had anything like it before, and it just felt perfect for a spring morning. I also got a hot chocolate, which wasn't my favorite. It leaned more on the watery side. The space itself is really nice and spacious. They have plenty of seating in both the front and back, which is great whether you're meeting friends or getting work done. Their menu is also pretty extensive, with options like sandwiches, pastries, drip coffee, matcha, vanilla lattes pretty much everything you'd expect from a café. One thing I appreciated was how fast the service was. Our order came out in less than two minutes, which was impressive, especially given how busy it was. The staff were also super friendly, which always makes a difference. Overall, I really enjoyed the vibe here. We were greeted by a very friendly barista who took our order promptly and had our drinks ready in no time. They also offer baked goods and a refrigerated section with deli options. The drip coffee is served from a thermos and is decent--I tried the dark roast. On another visit I had an oat milk latte, which was delicious. My husband ordered the spiced cider and thought it was a bit tart. I visited once on a weekend evening and again on a Saturday afternoon, and both times the place was hopping! Prices are affordable, especially compared to neighboring cafés. The walls are adorned with photos of people--presumably notable visitors--though I didn't recognize any of them. Still, it's fun to take in the diverse collection of faces. Parking can be tough, so I recommend parking near the Kirkland Women's Club and walking about 10 minutes. The menu speaks more to simplicity and quality than trying to keep up with ever-changing trends. Plus, in an economy where the price of cup of coffee can leave me gawking, I'll happily take an affordable, refillable cup of good quality drip coffee -- especially on afternoons spent reading or WFC (work from cafe). I'd recommend coming here for working, meeting up with friends, or one of those afternoons where you want to stop and enjoy the small things in life. (Plus, it's right around the corner from the library! Huge win!) While Thruline isn't necessarily a spot I'd go to treat myself, it's easily the kind of cozy cafe that will work its way into your weekend routine. Cozy atmosphere, friendly service! The carrot cake and cheesecake are yummy, and the decaf americano was solid - not too acidic and the perfect temperature. Love that this place is open until 9pm, which is so rare for a coffee shop. The only thing I'd point out is that the leather on the wall seating is cracked/old - I was wearing shorts and it was quite uncomfortable. I personally like a matcha latte with just the matcha and milk without the added sweetness, but the menu did not indicate any added syrups or sweeteners. But if you prefer really sweet matcha, then it is perfect for you. I would give it another try but would ask what they put in it first. I've been to many, many, many coffee shops over the last 20 years. This place stands out in ways that you just don't see at the newer wave of coffee shops these days (features that have slowly disappeared): not only great coffee/lattes, but a cozy atmosphere with tons of large/small tables with *comfortable* chairs with outlets on a lot of walls, super duper friendly staff/management, lots of community vibes, and free refills on drips all day--amazing! Outside seating too. Sometimes it's super packed and hard to get a table, but people are often super nice and will let you share! Unlike other places (that feel sterile, with 2-3 hard chairs to sit on--where they obviously want you to get your drink and leave), this place is the opposite--welcoming, cozy, and really great for getting some work done. If you stay for a while and get hungry, they've got that covered with some yummy sandwiches and burritos to eat! I guess the old term is referring to this as a classic "third place." Again, you just don't see that much anymore. Best to park down the street at the library. Love this place :) read more

Cute little cafe/coffee shop. Wish they had a better/larger selection of pastries but other than that, everything was nice. Ample seating. Despite it being completely full, it was not too loud. Bathrooms were decent. And even though we came during a festival that was being held nearby making it a very BUSY day at all local coffee shops, the staff did a PHENOMENAL job of getting everyone served and treating everyone with kindness. I come here often and it's not bad when I come over here I usually come on the weekends and when I do come, it is usually super busy inside, but I always get customer service from the cashier and the barista and they have a reward program which I like very much so I usually get like iced tea or a hot chocolate and I will sit in there. It's very relaxing. They have big seating inside and outside as well too with patio and people can bring the dogs outside and just relax out there. They do also have fresh juice as well as yogurt with granola which I have tried, which is very delicious. I always usually get is the elderberry Hibiscus iced tea which is very delicious. In fact, we buy the beans so we can enjoy the coffee at home Anytime we are in Kirkland, we order a mocha They have great alternative milks like oatmilk and hemp milk (my preference since it's thicker like regular milk). I also love that they have loose leaf tea since it is fresher and they have a great selection. They also make a great London Fog (earl grey tea latte made with milk). I love Thruline! Anyone who has ever taken my order has been friendly to both me as well as my children. This is a kid friendly place- yummy treats as well as a free kids drink with adult drink purchase. It's also a great place to work. I remember going to Thruline before COVID and it was a good experience! So while I was in downtown Kirkland for a bit, I decided to head in. The place has indoor and outdoor seating. I stayed inside. It wasn't that packed but it was around 7:30 pm on a Saturday. It seemed like an oasis in the midst of the really packed Park Lane. Indoor seating was mostly aligned next to the walls which were filled with photos. Like any cafe, it had coffee drinks plus different preparations (French press vs pour over vs drip etc.) it also sold bags of coffee beans. It also had non-coffee options like your typical London fog and chai tea. Not seen in the photos is the fact they had a special menu for more summery drinks like iced teas. I had an iced tea which I believed was a pomegranate flavor. They offered one free refill which I thought was great. I think this place is especially great to grab a drink while waiting for your lunch/dinner reservation for another restaurant on Park Lane. I think it is also a great place to do work on a laptop or read a book if you are solo. Note: they used to be called by a different name and they mention it on their website and the storefront. Also I wouldn't have known for these specials if I hadn't read the reviews beforehand.It was handwritten on a tiny obscure chalkboard next to the checkout machine. The pricing was comparable to other specialty places and definitely pricier than Starbucks. There was a nice nook where I could sit and have my coffee. Oh and checking in on Yelp gives you 10% off which was nice. There isn't much free parking around so you might need to park at the lot across the Sirena Gelato. This is the CUTEST little coffee shop right in downtown Kirkland. Not that Kirkland is thaaaat huge, but being here gives you such a small town, cozy feel. I stopped by here to get some work done before an Elite Event nearby. I went in around 6, so there weren't too many people and plenty of seating options. I chose to sit in the little alcove in the window which is the BEST seat in the house, in my humble opinion. I got the Matcha Latte. It was delicious. Creamy, smooth, and not to sweet, it was the perfect choice to sip on while I was working. Definitely great for warming up, too! Got an iced matcha. The powder they use is mixed with cane sugar so you can't change the sugar level, just something good to know. Unfortunately, I took two sips and threw it away which I NEVER do as it tasted like watered down matcha. A hint of flavor which also had that bitter end so I question what grade it is. Friend got an iced hazelnut latte with oat milk and while we both liked the flavor of the coffee, it was also mostly oat flavored with almost no hazelnut and the coffee strength just wasn't there. Gross: This morning a guy brought in his small dog, on a leash. His female friend went and got a small cup with whipped cream for the dog. They then put the dog on top of their inside table so it could stand up there and eat the whipped cream from the bowl. A worker even came over to wipe off the table while this was happening, to the point of wiping around the dog's legs while greeting the people. In what world do dog owners think this is OK outside of their own home, and in what world does a business owner think this is OK? I'm pretty sure the KingCo Health Department wouldn't say this was OK... And the floor around the bussing trays and recycling bins is nasty and gross with debris from people missing their targets. I get that happens, but why isn't it cleaned up regularly? read more
