One of the few shops with a good selection of vegetarian options at Oxbow Market, this pizza place was the first place we stopped at during our Napa trip. We ordered the 4 cheese pizza - the pizza base was pretty good but the leafy toppings were not that fresh and seemed a little too overpowering. The crust was also a bit dry. It is always nice when a place seems to take feedback in stride and improve. Such is the case with Live Fire. Went to give it another shot last night, and was pleasantly surprised. The sauce on my pie was more flavorful, a hot oil that gave the right amount of kick to the pizza, and a farm egg on top of a sausage pie to bring it all together. Crust has also improved, and it was decent to start. They are taking their craft seriously, and it shows. Another star, and more visits in the future. Side note: if you think char means burned, go to Dominos and leave the real pizzas to the pros. read more

I recently enjoyed the plant-based pizza of my dreams at Live Fire a couple weeks ago when spending a wine-derful day in Napa. It was the middle of the day and we were on our merry way around the valley to get to tasting. What's the not ideal way to begin this endeavor? On an empty stomach, of course. To fix that problem, we happened upon Oxbow Market and after perusing several of the offerings here, decided on Live Fire because of the promise of the Napa Vegan pizza, topped with seasonal vegetables. But wait. Brussels sprouts & cauliflower... what? This concoction is the stuff of the gods, I tell you. No one in their right mind hates Brussels Sprouts unless they've never had them prepared right (and by that, let's face, I mean your mom's overly boiled sorry affairs). There are some places that overdo it with the oil (not to mention cheese and bacon... why destroy a perfectly delicious and healthy thing?) Live Fire serves them absolutely perfect-- crispy/chewy, with spices that enhance the overall flavor. The truth is my friend ordered them, but I hijacked her plate and ate more than half. Oops. #sorrynotsorry You'd think this would put a damper on my pizza time, but no. I was in it to win it. Bring on the bubbly while you're at it (I stuck with an affordable Prosecco). And olives, too. And that pizza... a sight to behold. This pizza is the perfect example of why one does not need vegan cheese to make it delicious. A thin crust with the perfect char, this baby is loaded with vibrantly colorful and fresh cherry tomatoes, spinach, mushrooms, basil and onions atop a tangy marinara sauce. That I don't love onions on my pizza was a non issue. I still can't get over it, people! So many places don't get the cheeseless pizza thing and give you a skimpy offering of vegetables that they'd give if you ordered them atop your cheese pizza (and for the same price). Vegan Review: On a recent trip to Napa with my wife we were looking up places to eat due to our dietary restrictions on the vegan diet. It's really tough to find a place in Napa that actually has something on the menu you can order. So after coming through reviews on Google and Yelp we came across LiveFire and boy am I glad we did. The food was so good We came back 2 days in a row and ordered more than we could eat because it was so good. We ordered the Napa Vegan night one. It had a Ton of veggies on it that we had to take some off and eat in the side. Not a complaint! Night 2 we ordered the Marinara Pizza and added some Kite Hill Ricotta that we picked up at whole foods. It was unbelievable! We also got one of their salads with roasted beets without the cheese and their fried brussel sprouts and cauliflower dish. This food was so good that we could not stop talking about it for a couple of days. If you are in town I recommend going here to enjoy the awesome marketplace as well as a fun low-key dining experience. Emily helped us out both days and she was amazing. Phenomenal customer service and great conversationalist. The owner should be really proud to have her on their team. Don't forget to try the chili oil on a few different items. First stop in Napa...Oxbow Market. We ordered a margarita pizza. Can't go wrong with that!! The tomato sauce is authentic roma tomatoes. The wood fired oven produced some nice char on the crust but the crust was not quite perfect. The only thing I can think of is that it may be a bit on the sweet side and need a touch of salt. Toppings were spot on though. We enjoyed a nice glass of Edge wine along with our pizza. The ambiance of the Oxbow is perfect. Nice way to start our mini getaway with a quick bite here. read more

Who knows you can have calamari as a pizza topping! It's unique and delicious with the spicy mayo. The pizza dough is chewy and has a hint of wood fire flavor. Four cheese pizza was disappointingly bland. Dough was chewy. Overall not something that warranted the costs. Side of ranch dressing was $2.16. We needed this to dip our otherwise bland and boring semi-raw brussel sprouts and cauliflower and pizza in to make them more appetizing. Fully self-serve--you pick up the food from the counter, and get all your utensils, cleanup, etc, but for some reason they feel entitled to ask for a tip upon ordering. We tried several different pizzas, including the Margherita Pizza, Mushroom Pizza, and Pepperoni and Peppers Pizza. Everything tasted super fresh. Rent in the Oxbow Public Market can't be cheap. One thing this place has going for it that stands out from some of the other restaurants in the market is a separate bar to sit, where drinks are poured. Just a few taps, but convenient that they have Fieldwork on there (though I guess you could just walk over a few extra feet to the brewery). Sorta neat that they will often have things on tap after they run out of the Fieldwork at the brewery. Only downside is they weren't sure of what beer they had on tap, other than the fact that it was a hazy IPA. Still good, but it would have been nice to know! Grabbed a pizza with lemon, prosciutto, and arugula, and decide to spice it up with some red pepper flakes and a spicy oil they had out. Pizza was great by itself, but the oil and flakes definitely kicked it up a notch. Crust was crunchy and I could definitely taste the way it was cooked. Not bad! Brussels sprouts were also surprisingly good and served up over some cauliflower. Lots of mixtures of textures, and some extra heat going on here, as well. If you're visiting in the warmer months, consider sitting outside! It's nice out on the patio and it's reserved specifically for guests. read more

Went to Oxbow market for dinner on a Friday. Shared the Bianca pizza and the roasted Brussels sprouts. The pizza was amazing. Crust very tasty, toppings included ricotta cheese, lemon slices, arugula, and prosciutto. The lemon was a unique edition that blended well. The crust was just the right mix of chewy and crispy. Brussels sprouts were also delicious; some parts black and crispy and a bit spicy with a hint of lime. The only negative part of the experience was that they did not know the name of the beer they had on tap. The beer was surprisingly good though! While visiting Napa on a wine tour we stopped at the Oxbow Public Market. After seeing a pizza come out of Live Fire that caught our eyes, my fiancé and I decided to give it a try. We're visiting from New York so understandably, we're pizza snobs, and we knew that it was going to have to be thin crust, Neapolitan Italian style or bust if we were eating it on the west coast. We split the Bianca pizza and gnocco frito and were thoroughly impressed and satisfied. The pizza crust was perfectly thin, not soggy, and it had a nice char and some bubbles. I ordered the gnocco frito on a whim, having never tried or seen it before, and boy were we so happy we did. It kind of reminded me of zeppoli dough.. warm, slightly sweet, puffy and chewy.. and the prosciutto was just the cherry on top! We're giving Live Fire Pizza the New York seal of approval, and if we're ever in Napa again we would happily eat their pizza. read more

Headline: Incompetent management and customer service. 6:19pm - I ordered 2 pizzas through their website 6:35 - I arrived at the counter exactly at their estimated pick up time of 6:35pm. I was told there that I would get a text when it was ready. I stepped aside. 6:55 - I was watching people get their pizzas who had been ordering at the counter get their pizzas in about 10 minutes after ordering. I inquired again (now 20 minutes after the first inquiry) and this time they realized they had forgotten to check the website orders and they had never started making my order. I was told they'd make it right away. 7:15 - Another 20 minutes later, still no text and no pizza, so I inquired again. This time the same person at the counter said that I shouldn't have ordered my two pizzas on a concert night. I had no idea it was a concert night, and this didn't explain why the walk-ins were all getting their pizzas with higher priority in about 10 minutes. Also, if you're that busy please stop taking counter orders until you're caught up. At this point she told me that I just had to wait because they were busy and it would be made in order with a lot of orders ahead of mine because she had just put mine in the queue. I asked why it hadn't been put to the front of the queue when they realized they had forgotten it 20 minutes ago, and also asked why people who had just ordered were getting it in 10 minutes. I had now watched about 20 people order and then get their pizzas right in front of my eyes. Then she realized she still hadn't put mine in the queue at all and asked if I would like it moved to the front of queue now or get a refund. The right answer at this point would have been to offer me a refund and make my pizzas. I almost lost it, but decided to just get the refund. It hasn't been refunded, btw. So now I will need to do more leg work with the credit card company, and write this sad review. All in all, about two hours of my life dealing with this and nothing to show for. This is a gracious 2 star review. I ordered the calamari pizza and it came with NO CHEESE. Didn't realize I had specify that I would want CHEESE on PIZZA. It also came with a bag of uncooked arugula on top probably to mask the no cheese part but idk. Was very disappointed when I saw the pizza and even more when I bit in and realized there wasn't any cheese. Maybe there is something on the menu that mentions no cheese but it clearly wasn't noticeable enough. I think every server should notify anyone who tries and order this pizza VERY CLEARY that there is no cheese. Blows my mind. On top of all this, by buddy ordered a vegan pizza which is fairly normal at restaurants in which they include VEGAN CHEESE. What might that be I'm not sure but it's still some type of cheese. Somehow the waitress notified him there would be no cheese and he added it on FOR EXTRA MONEY! HOW DO YOU CHARGE EXTRA TO PUT CHEESE ON A PIZZA! PREPOSTEROUS. IM BAFFLED. BEWILDERED! Betrayed. I ordered the Buratta, Prosciutto and Mushroom Pizza. I heard they source their ingredients from Italy. I just came back from Italy and this Is pretty darn close. Buratta is amazing, creamy and gooey, pairs nicely with the salad and pomegranate. I wish it came with more crostini. The pizza is cooked in a wood fired oven. Crust is good, similar to what you get in Italy. I really enjoyed wjth Mushroom pizza, I liked the smoky flavor of the mushrooms. The Prosciutto pizza was ok. I'd probably try the Margherita pizza next time. Gotta have the pizzas with their house made chili oil. It is killer! I also had two glasses of wine, House Blend and Cabernet. This pizzeria was fire! Seriously though what I had was lit. I mean, I guess I should have expected something delicious especially with one coming out of Oxbow Public Market in Napa, but I was quite literally caught off-guard at how incredibly scrumptious this pizza was. Stopping by and looking for a quick bite, I decided to give Live Fire Pizza a whirl and see what a pie-aficionado such as myself would think. I am the first to admit that I'm pretty much a pizza-snob and sneer at other pizza joints that offer up too fancy of a pie for my taste, but Live Fire had familiar offerings that I knew would be a sure-fire winner. Haha you like that last part? Anywho, I went with an order of sausage pie topped with egg. The pizza featured a generous helping of Fatted Calf pork sausage, mozzarella, and spinach. The eggs, perfectly placed and cooked in the middle, took the whole dish to another level. Who doesn't love runny egg on a pizza?! Even now I reminisce at how delicious every bite was. Sweet, salty, and filled with umami flavor, this pizza-snob has to give credit where credit is due. Paired with a beautiful fresh glass of a 2017 Albarino, I was one happy camper. Awesome place. They are located in an adorable public market with awesome vendors. They have the best seating of the place offering an outside area with fire for heat. We were so pleased that they had clearly marked vegan options (even a pizza called Napa Vegan) and then had other dishes that you could customize. Our server was Chris and he was truly wonderful. We got the Napa Vegan (no cheese, I wish they had a vegan cheese), vegan crust, seasonal grilled vegetables. Went here today for the first time around 4:00pm. Woman who helped us was friendly and provided great service. We got our pizza and wine and it was amazing! But around 4:30 we got a new server who was incredibly rude and dismissive. The whole vibe changed. It went from welcoming and fun to a completely uncomfortable environment. We had two friends meet up with us and as soon as they said down she rudely said " there is no outside food allowed" we were all confused as they had no food with them, they simply sat to prepare to order. After that one of our friends got up to use the bathroom and she rudely came up stating that " others want to sit too,and she took the chair" we were so taken back by the way she was treating us. We picked the pepperoni and peppers pizza and it was fabulous. There is only on size with six slices good for a party of three that just need a snack.
