The food and live music is great. I had the wings as an appetizer and a house salad with blackened shrimp as my entree. Our waitress, Holly, was very welcoming and nice. Great service. This is our second time here. The atmosphere is family friendly and also fitting for a date night while at the Beach.

    Seafood pasta.

Great service, good food! Lots of flavor in the seafood pasta. They had live music while we ate and that was nice too.

This was my 1st time eating here. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual. I went for lunch but it was after the lunch rush. It is also what we call snowbird season, not the summer rush crowd. It was pretty quiet. The building seemed pretty clean. The menu is nice, typical seafood menu for down here. I wasn't in a seafood mood unless it is fried crab claws....but those are just expensive right now everywhere. So, I settled for the chicken sandwhich with french fries, it also came with 2 hushpuppies. It was decent. Nothing good or bad to say about it. The tea was a little weird tasting due to whatever sweetener was in it, but not bad. Apparently though, our friends told the waitress they were waiting on 2 more people and she didn't even ask if they wanted drinks and left them sitting there for 20-30 minutes without anything to drink.......we just came from scuba diving so our friends were not happy as they were thirsty. That's the only complaint. Other than that she was good.

Fun place to eat, right on the strip. They had plate lunch specials that were great ! Wife had the fish and shrimp. Very tasty.

Giving these folks a try for breakfast. Happy taco Tuesday my friends!

This place is well known for their music events and actually have a separate listed for "The Club at Live Bait" but I'm all about the food. I've been here several times and have enjoyed the dinner fare but today was my first experience with breakfast and that's my topic for this review. Kayla, our sever, took great care of us and the good hot coffee kept flowing. My honey had the garden omelette with grits and biscuit. These are real deal stone ground grits and a very good biscuit. The omelette was cooked and seasoned well and was very tasty. I opted for the 2 egg breakfast with sausage patties, breakfast potatoes and biscuit. Everything was seasoned and cooked well with a very nice presentation, I really enjoyed it. In addition to basic breakfasts there's some other nice choices for breakfast and brunch that include country fried chicken, steak & eggs, biscuits & gravy and more. The weekend brunch menu is pretty nice with fish, shrimp, crab, and much more. There's also cocktails, always a nice option. When you come here for lunch or dinner a couple of my favorites are the bacon jam burger with coleslaw and the fish & chips that I highly recommend. There's big TV's with sports channels playing and music overhead. The place is very beach themed and very comfortable. A very cool feature is their shuttle service. They will get you to and from the best hang outs in Orange Beach! Complementary service runs in the evenings to take you safely to and from the restaurant/nightclub. They will get you there and back safely. Also they've got a deck overlooking the wetlands where you can enjoy your favorite tropical drink and you might even catch a glimpse of their live alligator. Hours: Sunday - Thursday: 7am - 9pm Friday and Saturday: 7am - 11pm Club Hours: Thursday, Friday & Saturday 8pm - 2am (varies per event, call ahead) Bottom line: This is a solid local restaurant with a chef in the kitchen that gives proper attention to the food and the people are friendly in a nice beachy atmosphere. Saturday- August 7, 2021 - 2:15pm - 3pm No-Line/No waiting Seated 4 adults & 2 kids quickly and ordered within 5 minutes. Drink order was a Shark Bite, Long Island Iced Tea, Hurricane, Diet Coke and Apple Juice for the kids. Orders included: Fried Shrimp Plate with fries & hush puppies, Crawfish Po'Boy with fries & an add on of Onion rings, Shrimp Alfredo & an add on of Loaded Mashed Potatoes, Grilled Shrimp with Gouda Grits & Fries. The kids had fried fish & fries and chicken tenders & fries. Order took about 10-15 minutes to arrive. It was hot and every bite delicious. Portions were large also. Seriously, the kids fish was enormous. Waitress was friendly and attentive. If you're in the area I highly suggest stopping by.

The food was delicious. The live music was great and the Service was great. I would definitely recommend this place.

Chargrilled oysters, they were decent but not for me

Loved the atmosphere and their was also a club in the back we were going to go but got our bellies entirely to full. went on a Sat. night the karaoke was great! The food was really good too. I tried the charbroiled oysters not a fan, I was stepping out of my comfort zone but, I was able to eat a few of them. Between the whole table we got the grouper bites, fries, the fried grouper sandwich were all really good, chicken Alfredo was decent for the non seafood folks and then we also got the seafood nachos they were good but a little stingy with the meat. Our server was super nice, food was brought out in a quick manner. I would definitely go back... it was a great experience.

Great place to see live entertainment And grab a bite to eat. The food and presentation was amazing. Watching the people ride the shark in the club entrance was pretty entertaining too. There is a tiki bar in back that had karaoke. All in all a great place to stop

Blackened Redfish Opelousas with pulverized seafood as the top. Nothing black about it it was more grilled.
    Toni A.

I tried to give this place one more chance. Wish I hadn't. I ordered the blackened redfish with Opelousas Sauce. I didn't realize that the sauce was going to be pulverized to nothing so you couldn't even tell if there was crab meat, shrimp, crawfish; you knew it wasn't there because the sauce had no flavor. The red fish look like it was grilled there was nothing blackened about it and no Cajun seasoning whatsoever. It wasn't flaky either and it had an odd shape to it not like a fish but like something that came frozen from Sysco. It was very dried out. The so called Sauce Opelousas was in a side dish with probably about an 1 1/2 oz. When I got the sauce I did ask the runner what's this she said the sauce and I said where is the crab meat the crawfish in the shrimp she said it's in there. I wanted to laugh. When our waitress showed up I said this is the sauce and she said yes. I said this is very misleading. She replied its Opelousas Sauce. She was actually telling me this and I'm a classically trained chef from New Orleans. I had told the food runner I wanted more sauce she did not tell me it was more money so the waitress told me that's another four dollars for the sauce. I said keep it. It's still showed up on the table and on my ticket. I also ordered the crab bisque. That showed up at the table there was no crab meat in it at all I guess they pulverize that too they didn't say. I did taste some corn but to look at it it look like country gravy. There was no spice no nothing in the soup it was not even seasoned properly. Another big disappointment. The only thing that was really edible I think was the corn on the cob. When I asked for butter for the two hush puppies they gave me they brought me a plastic container filled with melted liquid it definitely was not butter it didn't even taste like melted margarine. I also asked for ice tea and they couldn't even get that ride I said I wanted iced tea unsweetened with lemon it was no lemon but maybe they squirt some in there I don't know it seems like they cut every single corner except the prices that they charge. My grandson was with me so my son took him to the restroom. He needed toilet paper there was absolutely none but there was a hand towel of such that came from the kitchen that was soiled in the bathroom. I wonder whether anyone there has they serve safe certificate. So someone from the kitchen or is a waitress goes to the restroom with things that are clearly supposed to be left out of the bathroom. My son went to the bar where they were about six or seven people standing around to get tipped out and he asked did anyone of them work here and the manager said no we don't work here. Clearly he was right no one works there. He proceeded to say that he needed toilet paper that he had a son in there and he said I'm glad he didn't go in by himself because he would still be in there because there is no toilet paper. He said the bathroom was filthy. Clearly the bathroom is not checked on. Evidently the waitress was in a hurry to leave. She wanted to know if my son was paying for the check and I told her no I was. I noticed that they use toast when handling the check. I'm quite familiar with that because my son is trained in that. He's a manager of a restaurant in New Orleans. So it first she said it's $95 I did not get a receipt or see what was on her toast at all and she didn't offer me or a receipt. So she brings over the toast for me to look at but would not let go of it and held it for me to see it. She did eventually print me out a receipt to look at where I noticed that the Opelousas Sauce was on my bill. I Proceeded to tell her I said you charge me for another Opelousas Sauce. I said it's right there on the table I told you I didn't want it before you brought it to the table. She did ask me do you want me to take it off of your bill? I wanted to say to her what do you think? So she goes to the manager to get the extra sauce taken off of my bill. When she handed me the toast device to look at she stood over my shoulder as part of the eye felt trying to intimidate me about the tip. I wasn't intimidated at all and I thought it was highly rude. She didn't even want me to fill out the survey that I started to fill out. She said you don't need to fill that out. When I was in culinary school my Chef Mentor (instructor) said she used to run that restaurant. She ran it for many years I can't wait to tell her my experience eating there. And if you want to know how to make Opelousas Sauce Google it. Chef Paul Prudhomme was from Opelousas and he invented the Blackened Redfish. I will be throwing this food out as soon as I take pictures to add to this review. Just to let you know the fish wasn't blackened it was grilled. There was no Cajun seasoning on it at all. I only noticed it after I took a sip and it came through my straw (imagine my surprise). Luckily I wasn't harmed, but this kind of carelessness could have resulted in a negligence suit against the bartender and the business itself being held vicariously liable. I didn't make a fuss because the female bartender was very apologetic about it, and I appreciated her for handling the situation as well as she did. However, the worst of my experience was my dealings with the older white male bartender. During the day between the hours of 1pm and 5pm, he was extremely rude to me. Not just once, but each time I went to go indulge in their famous daiquiris, for which I was really looking forward to. He never once asked me how I was doing and if he could get me anything. He would just stare at me with this look as if I was bothering him, waited for me to say something, made my daiquiri and slammed my receipt on the counter still without saying anything. I thought maybe he was having a bad day, but his behavior was consistent each day/time I visited the location. This was shocking, especially considering the number of positive reviews online and upon seeing how different his interactions were with other customers. After my fourth visit and encounter with him, I felt discouraged to return and spend my money there. I spent, in total, approximately $165 that I wish I could take back because I was extremely dissatisfied with the situation, but they were the only place I could enjoy a decent daiquiri without leaving the comfort of The Wharf. Honestly, if you are vacationing in this area, I would not spend my money here. Obviously, it is not appreciated and sincere service is inconsistent. 0/10, would NOT recommend.
