    lavender matcha latte

I came for the pancakes and perhaps I may have ordered the wrong entree. I saw the reviews for the ricotta pancakes so I was sold. Maybe it was an off day, but the bananas could have been flambéed more and the ricotta pancakes seemed a little undercooked. I did enjoy my lavender matcha latte, but it seemed kind of pricey given it was served in a tiny glass. It could have been smoother, but the flavor was nice. I would still rate them 4 stars because our waitress was so sweet and helpful. The ambience was nice and inviting, and the rest of the entrees thy were ordered by my family were all 10/10. The prices are a little high for what you get- at least for the entree I selected and my drink of choice. But it's a popular spot for a reason. I'll give it another go when I visit in the future.

Visited Little Ruby's on Berry Street in Williamsburg for a weekday lunch with a few colleagues and enjoyed the experience. It is a really cute space with a warm yet modern design. The restaurant is Australian-inspired and offers lunch and dinner service, plus a small bar (around five seats) and about 6-8 tables. We sat in the front, and service was quick and friendly. I ordered the Big Breakfast ($24), while my colleagues got the burger and one of the rice bowls. My breakfast was very good and felt like a nice, healthy option. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. It also came with sourdough bread, which I skipped, but it looked good. Overall, I really enjoyed the food, the space, and the service. I would definitely return to try more of the menu.

Decent food but nothing special. Staff were nice and the restaurant itself is cozy. Cocktails were underwhelming

If you get one thing, get the Shrimp Pasta. It's creamy, rich, full of shrimp and tomatoes, and has a tiny kick to it. My go-to every time! 5 stars for the shrimp pasta alone. You can skip the calamari--it's nothing special and is a pretty small portion. The chicken schnitzel is standard as well. Good, but not super memorable. This Ruby's is pretty small, so I wouldn't recommend it for bigger groups. Also, it doesn't save well in my experience, so it's 100x better to eat-in than take out. There's been one instance where the hostess made it seem like I was inconveniencing her when I said that I received a text that my order was ready for pick-up. She looked at me, sighed, closed her book she was reading, and reluctantly went inside the restaurant. Prior to this, I had only checked-in with her one time (when I arrived) that I had an order.

Bronte burger w sweet potato fries

I've been to the soho location a few times and the service/food was excellent there so I expected nothing less from this Williamsburg location! Safe to say, I was right The service was excellent. I wanted to add one more to my party of 7 and they were able to accommodate us. I had a reservation and I didn't have to wait long for my table to be ready. The food came out in a timely manner and it didn't take long for the waitress to refill our waters when it was empty I usually get pasta but I decided to try the Bronte burger and omg, it was SOOOOOO GOOD!!! I highly, highly recommend if you are considering it!! The ciabatta was toasted perfectly and the burger (I got medium) was soooooooo juicy. Not sure what I was expecting bc I've never had a burger on ciabatta but it exceeded my expectations. I ordered sweet potatoes fries on the side and I love how crispy they were. The garlic aoli (I think)) tasted so good bc it was so garlicky!! Also can't go wrong with strawberry lemonade :) The Brussels sprouts, however, were a no for me. The sauce that the brussel sprouts were covered in was really good - kinda sweet. But once you get through the sauce, the brussel sprout is a little bitter. So I wouldn't get it again. The calamari was good

My husband and I stumbled upon this restaurant while walking through Williamsburg, and I'm so glad we decided to stop in! Everything we had was absolutely delicious. We started with the salt and pepper fried calamari--it was so tasty and well-seasoned. For my entrée, I had the shrimp pasta with grilled shrimp, spaghetti, cherry tomatoes, arugula, lemon, cream, crushed red pepper, and breadcrumbs--every bite was amazing. My husband went with the fried chicken burger, made with crispy buttermilk fried chicken, pickles, coleslaw, and spicy mayo on a sesame bun. It was just as delicious! For drinks, I ordered the Little Ruby, while my husband tried the watermelon cocktail--both were refreshing and paired perfectly with our meal. On top of that, the service was great, and I loved the ambience. The food, drinks, and overall vibe were spot on--I can't wait to go back!

    Avo toast

Came here for brunch on two consecutive days (unintentionally lol). The first visit I got the avo toast, which was delicious and slightly delightfully spicy. The second visit I got green eggs bowl. Though healthy, this was disappointing as it lacked any kind of flavor. About the restaurant itself, it's conveniently located a couple blocks from the Bedford L station and is quite spacious. The staff is also so friendly, so overall I would recommend checking out Little Ruby's!

Spicy Vodka Rigatoni and Chicken Avocado Salad

Little Ruby's has multiple locations across the city serving brunch options from avocado toast to pasta. I've had Little Ruby's both as takeout and dine-in and I prefer the dine-in vibe, at least for the Williamsburg location. Service is friendly and efficient. The vibe is similar to many of the nyc brunch places with a touch of boho. The only difference is you don't have to worry about them kicking you out after 90 minutes. My favorites include the Spicy Vodka Rigatoni, the Chicken Avocado Salad, and the Banana Bread. I've also had the Shrimp Avocado Salad and Spicy Italian Sausage Pasta on separate occasions when ordering takeout which were both pretty average. The Chicken Avocado Salad is consistently good whether it is eaten as take-out or dine-in. Portions are bigger when dining in. If you're looking for semi-affordable vibey brunch that will still fill you up, Little Ruby's fits the bill. Don't skip the spicy vodka rigatoni, lest you want to spend $50 dollars on a subpar vodka pasta elsewhere.

Incredible banana bread with passion fruit butter

While visiting Williamsburg with my bestie, we wanted something yummy and close by to have brunch. Little Ruby's happened to be in our vicinity, and I'm so glad we stumbled upon this gem on our walk! We entered the building and were quickly offered indoor or outdoor seating, being that it was a lovely fall afternoon we opted to sit outside to enjoy the fresh air. After a quick look at the menu, I went with breakfast burrito (sans meat as I'm vegetarian), a hot cinnamon latte, and an order of banana bread. We were given water, and our coffees to enjoy while we waited on our food to arrive which did not take long at all. The latte was perfectly sweet, and such a nice treat in the cool fall air, now my burrito...seriously one of the top breakfast burritos I've ever had. It was so flavorful, and I really enjoyed the green dipping sauce that it came with. The banana bread came warm, and absolutely blew me away! It was paired with a passion fruit butter, which was very fragrant and you could absolutely taste the passion fruit. It was such a unique combo that I would have never thought to pair together, such a delicious treat! I loved everything about my experience at Little Ruby's Williamsburg, and would definitely visit again if I'm ever back in the area. Definitely suggest stopping by if you have the chance!

    Chicken Avocado Salad

DId not expect to love Little Ruby's as much as I did! The interior is really cute and perfect for catching up. It's not too loud, though you are slightly close to your neighbors since the tables are pretty close together. I loved the spicy vodka pasta so much. I think that's the reason why I'm giving it 5 stars. The pasta was perfectly al dente, and though I thought the vodka sauce could have used slightly more spice, the sauce was creamy and flavorful. Truffle frles are also delicious and crispy! On the other hand, I wouldn't recommend the chicken avocado salad. It wasn't bad, but it was definitely on the lighter side, and I wish it had more flavor. Whether it was in the dressing or the add ons.

    Kale salad with grilled halloumi
    Priyanka M.

Service was good. Ambiance was very crowded but the tables were well spaced enough to not feel too cramped. Food was great. Kale salad was delicious, lightly dressed and kale was finely chopped so easily digestible. I was able to add grilled halloumi as a protein option as well. Unfortunately the grilled halloumi was a little too salty and overcooked. Friends got the breakfast burrito and burger and they loved it. Def would recommend but try to make a reservation before. We came on a Saturday around 11am. We had to add our name to a waitlist. Wait time was 30 min but we ended up waiting closer to 45 min for our table.

    Date cake (delivery)
    Gab G.

At last, Ruby's is in my delivery zone once more! I ordered a grain bowl, Bronte with sweet potato fries and date cake (sans ice cream) for delivery one night. Sadly they were out of my usual fave sandwich (Blueys) but hopefully they'll have it next time I order! The cake was also little dense/gummy so will skip next time. Finally, I need to remember to add the truffle mayo (it's perfect with the sweet potato fries). The grain bowl was perfect as always, so let's go with a 4.

    That Watermelon Drink
    Geraldine E.

This is such a cute and spacious spot with cozy vibes, cocktails, pastas & more. The spicy vodka pasta was fresh (wished the vodka sauce had more spice) and the drinks were strong (That Watermelon Drink cocktail had a kick). The Pineapple Cucumber Spritz mocktail was refreshing and the Popeye smoothie was delicious. Definitely worth a visit when you're in town! They have an extensive menu for drinks and food. This is their newest location. The service was great and the decor here is warm, airy and inviting. They have two dining areas. This is a perfect place for lunch to talk with friends, date, or business meeting.

Nice happy hour and a large chocolate drink selection I was at this unique Guatemalan (ish) restaurant a while back with one of my groups. I said "ish" because the menu has dishes from all over, ranging from sandwiches to BBQ ribs to Guatemalan and Mexican soups. It's out there, and even though not everything works that well, it's fun, and if you can't find something you want to order here, you probably shouldn't go out to restaurants. There was also live jazz music that night, which was loud but nice to listen to. Since it was happy hour, a bunch of us got drinks. I went with a maracuya margarita, which was decent; someone else had a jalapeño margarita, someone had a beer, and someone had a mojito. There were a few nice hot sauces on the table, with the red one reminding me of salsa macha as it had a smoky kick and a spicier green sauce reminiscent of ají verde. They gave us some complimentary blue corn chips and a very mild black bean dip, which was tasty enough and hard to complain about, as it was free. From the appetizers, we got the Hot Figs for $15.95, consisting of honey goat cheese, corn tortilla chips, and plum + pumpkin seeds. This was a unique and fun blend and reminded me more of something you would find in a wine bar. The mix of sweet and salty, with a bit of crunch from the seeds, was nice. This was good, and I would recommend it for a table rather than for a solo diner. There was also The Zingy Salad for $21.95, featuring zucchini spirals, yuzu, tomato, onion, cilantro, pumpkin seeds, and a jalapeño infusion. $18.95. The salad was fine with a bit of crunch and a mild spiciness. It was fine, though a bit wet, for lack of a better word. The best dishes of the night were the soups, which each had its own distinct flavor profile. My sight presence went to the Pepián for $21.95, consisting of chicken, pumpkin/sesame seeds, green tomatillo, cinnamon, cumin, black pepper, carrots, chili coban/pasta/guaque, and potato + rice. There was plenty of tender chicken inside, with the soup having a nice roasted flavor with some spice and a bit of sourness. The potatoes and rice on the bottom added more sustenance to this dish. Almost equally delicious was the Caldo Tlalpeño Rojo for a dollar more with shredded chicken, tomato, black pepper, garlic, onions, peas, chickpeas, corn, achiote, chipotle, Monterey jack cheese, and crunchy blue corn tortilla chips. By comparison, this was a bit heartier, with the melted cheese and shredded tortilla chips inside, similar to soups found in Mexican cuisine. While I also liked the mix of veggies a bit more in this one, as it added a bit more texture, I still slightly preferred the flavor of the other soup, as I usually prefer a bit more spice. The rest of the food was fine. The TPC sandwich for $19.95 with chicken, peanut butter, coconut cream, ginger, cilantro, pickled carrots, and lime was fine. For the number of ingredients, I found it a bit sweet, likely from the cream and the peanut butter mix. The bread was nice, but it also fell apart. It came with a nice side salad with a good vinaigrette. The most expensive at $24.95 were the Slow Cooked BBQ Ribs, consisting of baby back ribs with rice and beans. The ribs were almost a bit too tender as they lacked any bite, which was nice, but the sauce was a bit too generic tasting, reminding me of Sweet Baby Ray's or something similar. The rice and beans were standard. This was also OK. Next came some dessert. There was first the $12.95 Rosemary Churros served with dulce de leche & chocolate dips. While I'm not sure if it worked, the rosemary did add a unique smell and a bit of flavor, and at least it wasn't generic. The churros themselves were hot, and the sauces were standard, with my preference being the dulce de leche. I also ordered a Champurrado for $7.95, which was fine. It wasn't as thick as I expected, though perhaps the style is a bit different than the champurrados I rarely buy from Mexican street carts. The chocolate flavor was very nice, though, and I like that it wasn't too sweet. Another person got a $4 Alfajor, which I got a bite of, which was standard. This place is a bit hard to rate. The two soups were wonderful, I liked the appetizers, and I found a couple of the other dishes just OK. Overall, it was a good meal, but I'm not craving to go back. This would be the perfect 3.5, but I'll round up as that doesn't exist.
