They serve breakfast til 4pm, which accommodates those who just wanted breakfast/brunch, with plenty of options for all. I had the Crispy Rice Bowl, which in addition to being tasty and full of fun textures to crunch, has an egg on top. I would definitely order this again! I'd heard so much about Little Ruby's, so I walked in with fairly high expectations, but unfortunately, it didn't live up to the hype. The menu felt very basic, especially considering the prices. I ordered the breakfast bowl, which was close to $20 ($17 to be exact) and came with two poached eggs, avocado, two slices of toast, a single slice of prosciutto, and about a tablespoon of ricotta. It didn't feel particularly special or worth the price. My partner ordered the grapefruit juice, which was $7, but the glass was mostly filled with ice. Service was also disappointing. Our order was forgotten multiple times. My drink was mistakenly made as a coconut Americano instead of the coconut matcha I ordered, and later our sweet potato fries never arrived until we reminded the staff. When they finally did come out, the portion was surprisingly small--more like a small dipping cup than an appetizer to share. Since we split the bill four ways, we never saw the final receipt, so we're hoping we weren't charged for the incorrect drink. Throughout the meal, it also felt like the staff were eager to turn the table over. They stopped by several times, and the overall experience felt rushed rather than welcoming. Overall, I left feeling underwhelmed by both the food and the service. There are plenty of brunch spots in Williamsburg that I think offer much better value and a more enjoyable experience. When I say this was quite possibly one of the best brunch experiences I've ever had, I am not exaggerating. The vibes are impeccable, they have indoor/outdoor seating with open glass doors for hot days. We sat by the window so got the best of summer and indoor dining. Came to Little Ruby's Cafe by the Williamsburg Bridge on a Saturday afternoon for brunch. At first we weren't sure what to eat, but once we realized Little Ruby's had opened here we decided to give it a try. The restaurant itself was very clean and looked modern and newly renovated. From the front it seems small, but when we walked toward the back to use the restroom we realized there's actually a much bigger dining area. Even though it was packed, we were seated right away. I ordered the shrimp pasta which came with shrimp, tomatoes, a creamy sauce, and red pepper flakes. The flavors balanced really well, creamy with just a hint of spice. They also didn't skimp on the shrimp. The portion was pretty generous. We also ordered the Bronte burger with fries, and asked to upgrade to truffle fries. I can deal with the fact that my Shrimp Avocado Salad was pathetic and my soda was flat by the time my Little Ruby's Williamsburg order arrived, because that has never been the case before. It's one of the most consistent meals I get, which is why I order from them at least once a week for lunch. What bothers me more is the stuffy, condescending response I got when I called in. I didn't want a refund, I just wanted to let them know that there were barely any greens and 4 measly pieces of shrimp and my diet coke was completely flat and down right gross tasting. The woman who picked up the line seemed to be annoyed that I would call in to mention that the order did not match the usual standard or the price. She condescendingly said she would let the kitchen know that I was missing 1 piece of shrimp, and never even acknowledged the soda. Now that I'm writing this I remember a previous time where I ordered Little Ruby's delicious Sticky Date Pudding and it arrived completely dead cold and without all the ingredients. Previous times I ordered it came with banana, sauce on top, and it was warm and satisfying. Before ordering it again, I called and asked that they remember to warm it and include all the ingredients. The person that answered the phone, I presume the same individual I spoke with today, said she would speak to the kitchen. Guess what happened... you dont need to guess, I'll tell you. My dessert arrived dead cold again, with no other ingredients. Pretty disappointing because I like this place. But it's not worth the annoyance or the disrespect from the staff. First time at Little Ruby's and my dinner was great. The ambiance is really cute, and we sat in the back seating area near the bar which is perfect for a date or friend's dinner. Our waitress was super friendly and gave us a lot of great suggestions. She checked in on us as needed and made the experience even better. To start, we had the whipped eggplant dip which came with a fluffy flatbread. Very delicious but I wish there was more flatbread. We had a lot of eggplant leftover with nothing to dip in it. We also had the calamari which was crispy and well seasoned. I went with the spicy Italian sausage pasta and it was really good. Large portion as well. My friends equally enjoyed the steak frites and the spicy vodka pasta with crispy chicken. I had one of the spritz's for my cocktail and it was good. We ended dinner with the chocolate cake and the sticky date pudding, both of which came with a scoop of vanilla. The cake was very very chocolately. A little too rich for me. If you get one thing, get the Shrimp Pasta. It's creamy, rich, full of shrimp and tomatoes, and has a tiny kick to it. My go-to every time! 5 stars for the shrimp pasta alone. You can skip the calamari--it's nothing special and is a pretty small portion. The chicken schnitzel is standard as well. Good, but not super memorable. This Ruby's is pretty small, so I wouldn't recommend it for bigger groups. Also, it doesn't save well in my experience, so it's 100x better to eat-in than take out. There's been one instance where the hostess made it seem like I was inconveniencing her when I said that I received a text that my order was ready for pick-up. She looked at me, sighed, closed her book she was reading, and reluctantly went inside the restaurant. The restaurant is Australian-inspired and offers lunch and dinner service, plus a small bar (around five seats) and about 6-8 tables. We sat in the front, and service was quick and friendly. The vibe is similar to many of the nyc brunch places with a touch of boho. The only difference is you don't have to worry about them kicking you out after 90 minutes. My favorites include the Spicy Vodka Rigatoni, the Chicken Avocado Salad, and the Banana Bread. I've also had the Shrimp Avocado Salad and Spicy Italian Sausage Pasta on separate occasions when ordering takeout which were both pretty average. The Chicken Avocado Salad is consistently good whether it is eaten as take-out or dine-in. Portions are bigger when dining in. If you're looking for semi-affordable vibey brunch that will still fill you up, Little Ruby's fits the bill. It's not too loud, though you are slightly close to your neighbors since the tables are pretty close together. I loved the spicy vodka pasta so much. I think that's the reason why I'm giving it 5 stars. The pasta was perfectly al dente, and though I thought the vodka sauce could have used slightly more spice, the sauce was creamy and flavorful. Truffle frles are also delicious and crispy! On the other hand, I wouldn't recommend the chicken avocado salad. The location is easy to miss as there isn't a sign but once you step into the restaurant you're greeted with a beautiful space and friendly staff.
