When I say this was quite possibly one of the best brunch experiences I've ever had, I am not exaggerating. The vibes are impeccable, they have indoor/outdoor seating with open glass doors for hot days. We sat by the window so got the best of summer and indoor dining. We started with the crispy brussel sprouts, ricotta pancakes and breakfast burrito with a side of sweet potatoe fries and a kale caesar salad. Let me start with the brussel; super crispy with a tangy savory sauce that paired nicely with lovely starter. The textures were on point and tasted very crispy which I liked. Next, the kale salad was nice with parmesan and crispy little quinoa paired with a lemon vinaigrette. Wow! This was a standout, we also added grilled halloumi to add a flare of salty and worked so well. The fluffy pancakes were too good! The smooth and pasty ricotta was nice and not super doughy which was nice and they maple syrup was divine. Came to Little Ruby's Cafe by the Williamsburg Bridge on a Saturday afternoon for brunch. At first we weren't sure what to eat, but once we realized Little Ruby's had opened here we decided to give it a try. The restaurant itself was very clean and looked modern and newly renovated. From the front it seems small, but when we walked toward the back to use the restroom we realized there's actually a much bigger dining area. Even though it was packed, we were seated right away. I ordered the shrimp pasta which came with shrimp, tomatoes, a creamy sauce, and red pepper flakes. The flavors balanced really well, creamy with just a hint of spice. They also didn't skimp on the shrimp. The portion was pretty generous. We also ordered the Bronte burger with fries, and asked to upgrade to truffle fries. The burger came with beef, tomato, spinach, and mayo on ciabatta bread. Every bite was really flavorful and the burger was super satisfying. The fries were crispy and paired perfectly with the truffle dipping sauce. The staff was friendly and accommodating throughout our meal. First time at Little Ruby's and my dinner was great. The ambiance is really cute, and we sat in the back seating area near the bar which is perfect for a date or friend's dinner. Our waitress was super friendly and gave us a lot of great suggestions. She checked in on us as needed and made the experience even better. To start, we had the whipped eggplant dip which came with a fluffy flatbread. Very delicious but I wish there was more flatbread. We had a lot of eggplant leftover with nothing to dip in it. We also had the calamari which was crispy and well seasoned. I went with the spicy Italian sausage pasta and it was really good. Large portion as well. My friends equally enjoyed the steak frites and the spicy vodka pasta with crispy chicken. I had one of the spritz's for my cocktail and it was good. I came for the pancakes and perhaps I may have ordered the wrong entree. I saw the reviews for the ricotta pancakes so I was sold. Maybe it was an off day, but the bananas could have been flambéed more and the ricotta pancakes seemed a little undercooked. I did enjoy my lavender matcha latte, but it seemed kind of pricey given it was served in a tiny glass. It could have been smoother, but the flavor was nice. I would still rate them 4 stars because our waitress was so sweet and helpful. The ambience was nice and inviting, and the rest of the entrees thy were ordered by my family were all 10/10. This Ruby's is pretty small, so I wouldn't recommend it for bigger groups. Also, it doesn't save well in my experience, so it's 100x better to eat-in than take out. There's been one instance where the hostess made it seem like I was inconveniencing her when I said that I received a text that my order was ready for pick-up. The restaurant is Australian-inspired and offers lunch and dinner service, plus a small bar (around five seats) and about 6-8 tables. We sat in the front, and service was quick and friendly. I ordered the Big Breakfast ($24), while my colleagues got the burger and one of the rice bowls. My breakfast was very good and felt like a nice, healthy option. The vibe is similar to many of the nyc brunch places with a touch of boho. The only difference is you don't have to worry about them kicking you out after 90 minutes. My favorites include the Spicy Vodka Rigatoni, the Chicken Avocado Salad, and the Banana Bread. I've also had the Shrimp Avocado Salad and Spicy Italian Sausage Pasta on separate occasions when ordering takeout which were both pretty average. The Chicken Avocado Salad is consistently good whether it is eaten as take-out or dine-in. Portions are bigger when dining in. If you're looking for semi-affordable vibey brunch that will still fill you up, Little Ruby's fits the bill. The latte was perfectly sweet, and such a nice treat in the cool fall air, now my burrito...seriously one of the top breakfast burritos I've ever had. It was so flavorful, and I really enjoyed the green dipping sauce that it came with. The banana bread came warm, and absolutely blew me away! It was paired with a passion fruit butter, which was very fragrant and you could absolutely taste the passion fruit. DId not expect to love Little Ruby's as much as I did! The interior is really cute and perfect for catching up. It's not too loud, though you are slightly close to your neighbors since the tables are pretty close together. I loved the spicy vodka pasta so much. I think that's the reason why I'm giving it 5 stars. The pasta was perfectly al dente, and though I thought the vodka sauce could have used slightly more spice, the sauce was creamy and flavorful. Truffle frles are also delicious and crispy! On the other hand, I wouldn't recommend the chicken avocado salad. That watermelon drink was light and refreshing. Food was good, but it has an assembly-line feel to it, so you immediately know you're eating at a small chain. Can't complain, I was happy (my dining companion hated it). Pacing was strange. Entrees came out while we were eating our appetizers (pet peeve #1) and then a very long time passed before we received a truly terrible dessert. Consistency is an issue as well. Our first round of cocktails were a little off, but they got better on the second round, as if someone else entirely took over behind the bar (and probably did).
