I don't understand why this place is not more busy. $30 for a really good massage . I've been a few times but the most recent experience made me want to come and give a good review. I had a splitting headache and neck ache from working at a computer all week and told the masseur before i lay down. He focused on that area and it was a transformation! I felt like he was very much in tune to where I needed the most attention. I occasionally go to the fancy spas in SB but I think the real talented masseurs work here! I was talking to a friend of my experience here and went to look at the yelp review I left in 2022 I see it was taken down! So glad they take assault seriously here! I made an appointment with a request for a woman masseuse. Mind you this was after my good friend suddenly died, my grandpa died and my childhood animal died with a week of my 21st birthday immediately leading up into 4 midterms at UCSB. I decided to treat myself to a massage as I needed groceries from Trader Joe's. A male checked me in, he looked and acted as if he owned the establishment. He lead me to the room and gave me the space to undress (mind you with any massage to how you are comfortable) which to me meant a sports bra and underwear, and covered myself face down with a towel covering myself. To my surprise he walked in to give me my massage. Like someone else who reviewed, I was a naive non confrontational young woman who just went through a highly traumatic few weeks. God forbid I trust a masseuse to do their job appropriately and not take advantage of me even though I had a bad feeling about it. The massage started normal at first and then he asked me to remove my bra as it was "getting in the way" then I noticed soemthing firm pressing against me. Yes. That's exactly what you think. And he was massaging my shoulders going way too close to the breast region, presumably looking at my behind, I felt a for lack of better words half chub rubbing against my head. I truely didn't know what to do. I've been assaulted before and in therapy for it and my automatic response is freeze unfortunately. He tried to extend the massage and I said no and quickly dressed, paid, left no tip, and immediately called bbb which was closed. Sent an email or a tip or whatever you can do (it was 4 years ago give me a break with the details) and left a lengthy yelp review which apparently has been taken down! I don't know how that is acceptable to take down a review of this nature. People should be aware and based off what I read this isn't the first instant of inappropriate behavior. I am so appalled looking back now and need to repost. This is insane behavior and so inappropriate of a 50 something year old to a barely legal young woman. Came here in hopes to have a nice massage for my self-care day but it turned out to be terrible. I got the $60 60 minute massage just two hours ago. My masseuse spent most of the hour on my back and butt. She used way too much oil. It felt highly inappropriate when she was massaging my butt; at one point, my underwear was fully pulled off. I was worried that when she left the room to grab the cleaning rags that a passer-by would see my butt fully exposed. When she cleaned the oil off my behind, she went into my crack. She was also massaging really fast. To be more clear, she was rubbing my skin rapidly rather than taking her time on smaller sections to look for knots or just to massage deeply into. On top of that, she ran out of time and showed me the price menu asking if I wanted to pay for more time. I said no so she completely skipped massaging my right arm. Poor timing!! When I was paying, she was fully looking at the POS machine to see if I would tip. I felt very pressured so I tipped $5. If you're asking why I didn't speak up during the massage, I'm not a confrontational person and I expected the massage to get better at some point. After much contemplation on whether or not to leave a review, I decided it may be best to warn others. I stopped by my normal go-to Asian massage spot, Evan's Relaxation Station on northern State Street, but the wait was outrageous. I was pressed for time and decided it would be best to go closer to home at this Little Rainbow Spa in Goleta. I walked in with one person in front of me. We waited for a few minutes until a gal who didn't speak English arrived to 'greet' us all flustered. Both the fella in front of me and myself pointed to what services we wanted on the price sheet. She waved us both to go to the back with her, and pointed him to a chair and me to a bed. They did not tell me whether to leave all my clothes on, take my shirt off, or remove all my clothes. I sat there for 7 minutes awkwardly without being spoken to. Once a gal arrive, she signaled for me to take off my pants and shirt. I did so and got under the sheet. She then began the massage not asking what type of pressure I'd like. I am a believer in deeper the better. Every 5 minutes she would ask "harder or too hard? in a broken accent." I attempted to speak English to her on multiple occasions but she simply shrugged. Throughout the entire massage she would begin in one area of my body, then move to another, then another but wouldn't repeat the same maneuvers on the opposite side of my body leaving me uneven. She kept exhaling exhaustively and then would laugh. When it was time to turn over, I realized it was because she was extremely hot and was sweating down her forehead. She was overheating and trying to apologize, but didn't know hot to in English. At that point she also wasn't putting her all into it. I really wasn't able to relax at all due to the inconsistency. Upon leaving, I went to pay in cash and she had to go to the back for change twice. I ended up leaving her a large tip because I felt bad that she has to work so hard in poor conditions. They should really have air conditions or at least a fan in the rooms. When I got home, I looked in the mirror to find a bruise on my forehead between my eyes due to the old bed not being properly padded and rubbing on my face. We go in and tell them that's what we'd like and they told us it's only between hours of 10am-1pm, but we could get the regular priced foot massage, $35 for an hour - almost twice the price! I'd have gladly paid $35/hr if that's what I was led to believe the price was, but this is a bait and switch and completely false advertising and I am pissed. Decided to try this location today as I had decent experiences at 2 other locations. Worst "massage" ever! I told my lady masseuse (who didn't speak English) to please use the oil I brought with me and to avoid my left big toe due to an injury. She seemed to understand after a minute of me explaining and using hand signals. She then proceeded to use her own oil on my neck (which had a scent, I am allergic to perfume) and I had to tell her to please use my oil, again she seemed to understand me but then used her own oil two more times and even had the audacity to pretend that she was using mine when I looked down towards my feet where she was working. She had zero technique and zero care in what she was doing, she also kept talking to her neighbor. Additionally she pressed on the toe I requested she avoid. Upon checkout she pretended to not understand that I wanted her to give me change for a $20 bill so as to tip her (even though she didn't really deserve one), and then tried to keep the entire $20. She then asked how much tip I wanted to give and I said $5, at which point she got visibly angry and then threw my change on the counter. My husband and I went for a one hour foot massage yesterday. To say we were unimpressed is an understatement! The woman who did my husband's massage was apparently the coordinator of the place. During my husband's hour long massage, she stepped away from him at least four times to go to the front. She was gone for at least ten minutes in total! She also spoke on her cell phone while sitting at my husband's feet. To make matters worse she constantly conversed with the other employees the entire time making my massage very uncomfortable! Got the combo foot and body massage for $40 for 60 mins, which I highly recommend and had a really good experience. It started out with laying on my back with eyes covered and feet soaking in a warm bath of flowers. My male masseuse worked from my head and neck to my arms, wiped my feet before proceeding to foot and calf massage. Then I flipped over and he worked on my back, giving good attention to my sore spots on the shoulder and lower back. Overall a good experience for my money! I stopped yesterday because I had a knot in my back that was bothering me. I had been to this location before and had a good experience. I told the lady at the front desk that I wanted a back massage but needed to lay on the bed due to a (un-casted) broken foot. She said okay and took me back. She worked on my back for about 5 minutes and then a male came and took over. His pressure was pretty firm but not too bad. He talked to another male, who was sitting on the bed on my other side, non-stop. He kept stopping to look at his phone and the phone of the other male (I picked my head up and looked because it kept happening). All the sudden, he ran his hand down my calf and grabbed my foot and yanked on my foot/leg hard. I immediately sat up and told him it was broke and he was supposed to be working on my back only. He clearly did not understand me because next thing I know, another man shoved his phone in my face (literally a half an inch from my mouth). I could see he had a translation app open so I again said that I asked for my back only and that the foot he just pulled was broken. He conversed with a couple more workers that had gathered and then said "back". I said yes and laid back down. Next thing I know, a new person began working on my back. He was "massaging" so hard I started to cry and immediately got a headache. I generally ask for hard pressure when getting massages at spas so that should tell you how hard he was working. He was simply pinching my shoulders and not really massaging any muscles. I sat up and said no more. He kept trying to tell me to lay down and finish and I said no. I walked to the front and said I just wanted to pay and leave. He kept trying to have me go back and finish. I finally paid and left. Today, a day later, I have a headache that won't go away, my back hurts more than when I went in, and my shoulders are so sore I can hardly lift my arms. As I said, I had been to this location before and had no problems. This time was a whole different story and I can guarantee I will never go back to this business, at any location. The current staff are not properly trained and it shows. They did not have one staff member in there that could speak or even understand English. I warn all to stay away. I've been to a few of the other locations. As this one is new, it is clean and orderly. The aesthetics could use a little warmth however. The spa is equipped with LED lights that give off a harsh, blue tone that is too bright for the space. There is a huge monitor on the wall that enables the staff to see the lobby; not very cozy. I usually opt for the 60 min foot massage and appreciated it well enough. Due to the huge monitor and the staff needing someone to be present in the lobby, my guy left me three times to help someone else. While I understood, it didn't seem right that about 5-10 min of my 60 min massage was allocated to help other customers. Why was I paying my practitioner to attend to other customers? Hopefully they will get this sorted out. This aspect was the one reason I didn't give them 5 stars. read more

What a waste of time and money! I paid $35 to have lotion put on my body. This was by far the worst "massage" I've ever experienced. I asked the woman giving me a massage to go harder and she literally didn't change. Tv was on. Conversations on the phone were being made while giving a massage. I have had probably a dozen massages at one of these facilities in town, and 4 at this particular location - but yesterday was the last time I will go there. I opted to have a full body massage because I was in some pain from a difficult weekend of events. The woman at the counter put me into the 'private' area (a small room where no one can see you, but you can still hear everything). I was aware of the location and noise possibilities prior as I have been there before. What I was NOT okay with was the loud conversations the woman had OVER the wall to her work associates to handle a reservation of 4 people all wanting 2 hour massages which apparently needed some coordinating. MY massage therapist left the room in the middle of MY massage twice to deal with this reservation without saying a word - she just up and left mid-massage. Then if that wasn't bad enough, she took 2 phone calls on her cell WHILE massaging me and was texting after covering my eyes for the last part of my massage. Maybe she didn't realize that just because I could not understand her language, I still heard here. While she did make up for the 10 minutes of lost time - my experience was exactly the opposite of the relaxing, rejuvenating one I went in for.
