One of the most unprofessional and rude women I have ever met at a massage parlor gave me a massage that left my back more messed up than it was when I arrived. Then she had the audacity to demand a larger tip. She talked on the phone and left the room MULTIPLE times without adding the additional minutes to make the full 60 minute massage I paid for. Plus there were mystery stains on the sheet I laid on. If the massage had been out of the world amazing I still could not have overlooked the sketchy setup with the doorbell and the woman's dual role as a hostess and disinterested masseuse. read more

I don't usually get massages but a few days ago I got the most painful stiff neck ever- I could barely move my head for several days and was in a lot of pain. I went to this place and just got a 20 minute massage. She immediately recognized the problem and had some good techniques for exposing the deep muscles under the shoulder blade that were causing most of the pain. She relentlessly kneaded the problem zones and made some good use of hot towels and the like. After just 20 minutes I felt a lot better and most of the pain is gone. I'll very likely go back in a few days for a follow-up. They don't take credit cards but the owner was very accommodating in just giving me a shorter massage because I didn't have enough cash to pay for a half hour + tip. This is by far the best massage I have ever had. I have chronic back and leg problems and owner did an amazing job of helping to make the recovery process go very smooth. I came here because it was second on Yelp and the person I used to see no longer worked at the place I used to go to as I build up a lot of tension in my muscles eventually needing painkillers just to get through the day every once in a while. The massage I received was pretty bad especially given the price (a bit higher than some others in town but not suspiciously so), it was an older ~50 asian woman, and it felt like her hands were very calloused and abrasive. Wasn't as deep as it needed to be. It seemed a little sketchy the whole time too, you gotta ring a doorbell and be let in and there's no reception just pay up front in the room (cash only, not super weird a lot of the asian owned businesses only take cash or greatly prefer it in town) (she also explicitly mentioned they get paid in tips), but I attributed that to the area of Goleta which is kind of all sketchy and them trying to protect themselves from scammers and cheapskates, I was wrong. During the massage I'm fairly certain I was propositioned for a "happy ending," which I declined and the exchange didn't last long after that with her unenthusiastically completing an already rather poor massage (I was too embarrassed to leave for fear of it being a misunderstanding). After she said the massage was finished she lingered and basically asked for a tip when I expected to at least be allowed to redress (as I was in my boxers for the massage) before giving a tip. Overall I couldn't believe my experience here, out $72 and I'm still pretty sore and rather disgusted with the whole thing. read more
