I've only had a handful of massages in my life, but after going to Upscale Massage, I can say now I know how they are supposed to feel! Jesse was my masseuse and he was extremely professional and personable. I had made an appt for the 60-minute Swedish massage and caught myself almost drooling a couple times! The entire massage felt amazing. I did have some knots in my left shoulder area, where Jesse said he was using more pressure than he would in a normal Swedish massage. He said he was doing this to relieve the knots and to let me know if it was too much to handle. I let him know that I knew I needed it and to continue and thanked him for the explanation. I bought myself and ATR a package deal of 3 massages each, however I also went 1 additional time without the bf. the PRICE- unbeatable due to their constant specials and deals through sites such a Groupon. Regularly it is standard price for a massage, however no up charge for a couples massage in the same room. the STUDIO- it's small yet cute. Located above some eateries, don't worry though because noise does not travel and disrupt your relaxation. The studio itself appears to be a skin spa during the day? Not quite sure but do see make-up and such for sale in the lobby area. The massage room is roomy with tables which are comfy and cozy with soft sheets/blankets. Dimly lit to get you in a relaxed state of mind. Lastly, & most important... the MASSAGE- *I have personally only gone to Jesse but will write a brief summary per word of the bf on Kaye.* Jesse- I love a deep firm massage and Jesse delivers each and every time! The first 2 time I went he ensured the level of pressure was what I wanted which he remembered for my other sessions, a nice perk so you can relax and snooze without much talking. He maintains your comfort and exposes only the areas which he is working on, so you feel safe and stay warm. He also listens to requests made at the beginning of the session for areas which need attention and areas to avoid (something simple yet a lot of masseuses have a challenge with this). I purchased a 60 minute couples massage through livingsocial app. I have a pinched nerve in my neck that goes down near middle of my back, so I wanted firm pressure so Jesse gave the massage. Some women have mentioned that he was unprofessional about draping the blanket or exposing certain private parts. Well in my opinion Jesse was very professional, and I did notice he really took time to tuck in the sheet to NOT expose any of my private areas. As far as the massage pressure I told him I can tolerate firm pressure, so if you get a massage and feel that the masseuse is pressing too hard, common sense, tell them as they're doing it. I am writing a review a full couple years after my experience. During my massage with Jesse I felt like physical boundaries of professionalism were crossed. 1) He asked me whether I wanted my breasts draped for stomach work. Breasts should always be draped in a professional massage. 2) He worked near and around my hip bone, uncomfortably close to my pelvic area while I was on my stomach. I've never had a massage therapist reach under my body and massage on the inside of my hip bone? 3) As we was working my inner thigh he worked too close to my lady parts. I could feel him repeatedly brushing against pubic hair attached to my labia. I would think after one accidental brush he might back off but he didn't. I was literally making a plan in my head what I would do if he crossed a boundary and tried to actually touch me. After the fact I sent an email to their business but never heard back. It occurred to me that Jesse may be the one to receive & just delete it. The weird thing is I think Jesse is the husband of a husband wife team that owns the studio? I would expect better physical boundaries. This massage made me hesitate booking future appointments with male massage therapists which is really unfortunate. read more

Jesse gave a fantastic massage--I usually judge my massages by whether I fall asleep or not. Usually if I fall asleep, that's a good thing because I'm so relaxed haha. And I did fall asleep during this one! He had excellent pressure throughout the entire massage--I think this was possibly the best pressure for a massage I've ever had. The only thing I would improve is that the room was a little cold--it would be nice if they could get a space heater for colder days. Also, I got the massage with aromatherapy, which I thought would include a few breathe-ins of the scent, but it was just incorporated in to the lotion that he used for the massage. I bought a groupon for a massage here, and was really looking forward to relaxing and distressing. Problem is, I left there more stressed than when I came. As some reviewers have mentioned, Jesse was too firm at times- and actually painful. He also needs to learn how to appropriately drape clients with the sheet. I felt very exposed and uncomfortable throughout the massage. At the end (when I flipped) he actually pulled the sheet down to completely expose my chest, without asking me. I have never experienced this during a massage and did not know what to do. When I left I called a massage therapist friend that told me this is not normal and not appropriate. I should have gone to her! In a nutshell, I have had many massages, and this is the first time I ever left one feeling yuck. I do not know the intent behind the actions, but think that more care should be taken to make clients feel safe and comfortable. read more

He said Kaye did a pretty good job massaging his back/neck - where he was feeling a lot of pressure. But he also mentioned that he could have used a little more time on the neck to /really/ relieve the stress he felt there. But it was a full body massage, so I understand that she couldn't focus completely on that one area. As for me, I had Jesse and I requested a firm massage. I'm a pretty small girl, but I really want you to knead my muscles so they can feel like they're about to melt off my back. He was firm.. but maybe a little too firm at times? The next day, I felt pretty sort in some areas. My back didn't feel that much more relieved after I left... just a little bit? Don't get me wrong. The business owner Kaye was very nice, the spa was a great space and was very clean. However I was counting the minutes for my 90 minute massage to be over. I asked for medium pressure on my back, neck and shoulders and all she could manage was very light. Possibly b/c it was a groupon and she had to do many massages in one day. If I had had the courage to stop the massage and get off the table I would have but I didn't. This was my first experience where a 90 minute massage felt like 3 hours and none of them were good. Hopefully she will get better with time but I will not be back to find out. read more

There is a shared parking lot between local businesses and street parking is also available. We went at night so parking was no trouble at all. Kaye greeted us the in the front room. Complimentary tea and water are available as well as a bathroom. What followed inside the room was an experience. The dim lighting, warm blanket, soothing music really sets the tone even before the massage begins. I had Jesse and I asked for 6 out of 10 (1 being very light and 10 being very forceful) massage and he nailed it. I have some knots in my back and he was able to work those away. The whole massage was awesome. I recommend the 90 minute one even if just once because it really is worth it. After being done with the massage expect to be somewhat oily / sweaty so dress casually. Admittedly this was only my second professional massage, I can't really see other places beating the service and price of Kaye and Jesse. read more

I bought a Groupon for this place and was pleasantly surprised by their service! I got a massage from Kaye for 75-minutes and she did a really good job focusing on the areas I noted needed attention. I'm a runner and have plantar fasciitis...bascially, really bad arch pain. She did a lot of work on my feet and lower calves which felt great! In the past, I've had massage therapists who talked and talked the whole time and it completely ruined the whole thing! Kaye kept the atmosphere very quiet with some relaxing music and only asked "You doing okay?" every 15 minutes or so. I was really able to relax and not have to worry about carrying on a conversation. The spa itself is really cute and quaint. Jesse and Kay are fantastic and I would and do happily recommend them to anyone looking for a massage. My boyfriend and I have gotten a few couples' massages from them. I've always gotten Jesse to massage me and wow, I repeat, wow. It's phenomenal! There are times where it feels like he could be a magical mutant with five pairs of hands and I have to try my hardest to not drool on the floor from being so relaxed and hope no one gets hurt from slipping in it. He has a firm hand (or 10? which I prefer) but checks in from time to time to make sure the pressure is comfortable for me. If you have any preferences of where to focus or where to avoid, they always take that into account to ensure you have the best experience possible. The two of them have their routine down pat as they move perfectly in sync with one another. I appreciate that they don't really speak during the massage so you can completely zone out for an hour or more. Sweet, comfortable silence! They are both super sweet people and have always made me feel completely at ease. The spa is nice and clean with a comfortable ambiance. I was pleased to learn they also do house-calls for a small travel fee. If only I could get 10 massages a day, everyday, forever....sigh....Once can dream right? We for the couples massage offer on Groupon and loved our experience. The spa is small, cozy, well decorated and inviting. The massage room was well heated considering how freezing it was today. There were not any overpowering spa scents lurking around to flare anyone who,like me, has allergies so this was a plus. In the waiting room is a magnetic wall with many shades of foundation, blush, and shadows as well as sterile make up brushes for those who need to reapply afterwards, I thought this subtle quirk was awesome as well as a great idea! I had Kaye and my boyfriend had Jesse both were pleasant and friendly. My massage with Kaye was great she paid attention to the amount of pressure I preferred and did this weird/awesome technique on my arms that was the best thing ever. Jesse did a great job deeply massaging my boyfriend's giant knots in his shoulders. Neither really spoke a whole lot during the session except to the occasional every 15min "how are you doing?" Which was nice because it kept the session very calm and serene. I would I highly reccommend this place, it's well priced and great service as well as atmosphere. Purchased a massage from Groupon and made an appointment with Jesse based on a previous Yelp reviewer who mentioned that he can apply heavy pressure. I was not disappointed! I like heavy, heavy pressure and he was able to deliver for the entire hour (as opposed to other massage therapists I've gone to who start off great, but slowly wane).
