Great couple massage. Very nice husband and wife team! Relaxing space and close by UCSB read more

I've only had a handful of massages in my life, but after going to Upscale Massage, I can say now I know how they are supposed to feel! Jesse was my masseuse and he was extremely professional and personable. I had made an appt for the 60-minute Swedish massage and caught myself almost drooling a couple times! The entire massage felt amazing. I did have some knots in my left shoulder area, where Jesse said he was using more pressure than he would in a normal Swedish massage. He said he was doing this to relieve the knots and to let me know if it was too much to handle. I let him know that I knew I needed it and to continue and thanked him for the explanation. I will most definitely be back. Thank you! read more

Kaye goes above and beyond and I am very grateful that I found her. I truly enjoyed my Swedish massage therapy with her. She is extremely kind and thoughtful. Her calm and warm energy instantly put me at ease. As soon as I stepped foot in the front door I felt a sense of peace and tranquility because of the cozy ambiance. I walked into my appointment with lower back pain from all the stress I have been going through. However, I walked out feeling a lot lighter and pain free. I look forward to returning. Thank you again Kaye you are a blessing! read more

Upscale Massage, located on the Mesa, is a small yet cute studio. Jesse and Kaye are the masseuses. I bought myself and ATR a package deal of 3 massages each, however I also went 1 additional time without the bf. the PRICE- unbeatable due to their constant specials and deals through sites such a Groupon. Regularly it is standard price for a massage, however no up charge for a couples massage in the same room. the STUDIO- it's small yet cute. Located above some eateries, don't worry though because noise does not travel and disrupt your relaxation. The studio itself appears to be a skin spa during the day? Not quite sure but do see make-up and such for sale in the lobby area. The massage room is roomy with tables which are comfy and cozy with soft sheets/blankets. Dimly lit to get you in a relaxed state of mind. Lastly, & most important... the MASSAGE- *I have personally only gone to Jesse but will write a brief summary per word of the bf on Kaye.* Jesse- I love a deep firm massage and Jesse delivers each and every time! The first 2 time I went he ensured the level of pressure was what I wanted which he remembered for my other sessions, a nice perk so you can relax and snooze without much talking. He maintains your comfort and exposes only the areas which he is working on, so you feel safe and stay warm. He also listens to requests made at the beginning of the session for areas which need attention and areas to avoid (something simple yet a lot of masseuses have a challenge with this). Overall a wonderful experience Kaye- The bf also loves a deep firm massage, however Kaye was too gentle for his liking. He left feeling relaxed however knots were not worked out. read more

Upscale Massage - Massage Near Me - Santa Barbara, California

Kaye and Jesse are professionals. I've always had a great experience here. They are also very responsive which makes managing reservations a hassle-free experience. They're often booked up so you may need to reserve in advance by about a week or so. read more

I purchased a 60 minute couples massage through livingsocial app. I have a pinched nerve in my neck that goes down near middle of my back, so I wanted firm pressure so Jesse gave the massage. Some women have mentioned that he was unprofessional about draping the blanket or exposing certain private parts. Well in my opinion Jesse was very professional, and I did notice he really took time to tuck in the sheet to NOT expose any of my private areas. As far as the massage pressure I told him I can tolerate firm pressure, so if you get a massage and feel that the masseuse is pressing too hard, common sense, tell them as they're doing it. All and all, outstanding massage from Jesse. I would highly recommend read more

I sought out a massage to address horrible pain associated with shoulder bursitis. Jesse worked very carefully and thoroughly to relax the muscles cramping in my upper arm and back. It made a world of difference! My pain level dropped significantly. I came back a week later, and my pain has gone from an 8 to a 1. Jesse's expertise made me feel very comfortable. The massage room is tranquil. So glad I found Upscale Massaage. read more

I am writing a review a full couple years after my experience. During my massage with Jesse I felt like physical boundaries of professionalism were crossed. 1) He asked me whether I wanted my breasts draped for stomach work. Breasts should always be draped in a professional massage. 2) He worked near and around my hip bone, uncomfortably close to my pelvic area while I was on my stomach. I've never had a massage therapist reach under my body and massage on the inside of my hip bone? 3) As we was working my inner thigh he worked too close to my lady parts. I could feel him repeatedly brushing against pubic hair attached to my labia. I would think after one accidental brush he might back off but he didn't. I was literally making a plan in my head what I would do if he crossed a boundary and tried to actually touch me. After the fact I sent an email to their business but never heard back. It occurred to me that Jesse may be the one to receive & just delete it. The weird thing is I think Jesse is the husband of a husband wife team that owns the studio? I would expect better physical boundaries. This massage made me hesitate booking future appointments with male massage therapists which is really unfortunate. read more

I bought a Groupon massage and called for an appointment and was offered 6 weeks away.... Who books a massage 6 weeks in advance Needless to say the Groupon expired..... Make sure you get an appointment before you fall for this scam...... you're forced to give a star rating or I wouldn't have read more

Jesse gave a fantastic massage--I usually judge my massages by whether I fall asleep or not. Usually if I fall asleep, that's a good thing because I'm so relaxed haha. And I did fall asleep during this one! He had excellent pressure throughout the entire massage--I think this was possibly the best pressure for a massage I've ever had. The only thing I would improve is that the room was a little cold--it would be nice if they could get a space heater for colder days. Also, I got the massage with aromatherapy, which I thought would include a few breathe-ins of the scent, but it was just incorporated in to the lotion that he used for the massage. For the future, I think it would be nice if they had the aromatherapy portion include a few deep breaths in of the scent. Thanks for an excellent experience! read more

This was the most blissful massage experience I could have asked for. My boyfriend and I went in for the couple's massage, and Kaye and Jesse were the kindest people, making us feel right at home the minute we walked through the door. The ambiance was soothing and added such a relaxing component to our experience. They were so conscious of requests and made sure we were comfortable throughout our experience. The massage itself was peaceful and invigorating. I would definitely recommend this wonderful place! read more

I bought a groupon for a massage here, and was really looking forward to relaxing and distressing. Problem is, I left there more stressed than when I came. As some reviewers have mentioned, Jesse was too firm at times- and actually painful. He also needs to learn how to appropriately drape clients with the sheet. I felt very exposed and uncomfortable throughout the massage. At the end (when I flipped) he actually pulled the sheet down to completely expose my chest, without asking me. I have never experienced this during a massage and did not know what to do. When I left I called a massage therapist friend that told me this is not normal and not appropriate. I should have gone to her! In a nutshell, I have had many massages, and this is the first time I ever left one feeling yuck. I do not know the intent behind the actions, but think that more care should be taken to make clients feel safe and comfortable. read more

This was my first time receiving a full 60-minute Swedish Massage from Upscale Massage and it was absolutely amazing. Jesse was prepped and ready even though I had arrived 15 minutes prior to my appointment. The ambience was incredibly soothing and calming. Jesse made me feel relaxed throughout the entire massage. I definitely learned a thing or two about my muscles, tender spots and tights areas. I enjoy deep and firm massages and Jesse provided me with the perfect amount of pressure; I left feeling new and amazing. Thank you for giving me an incredible massage, Jesse! Happy early birthday!! read more

This place is located in a small plaza and isn't actually under the name "upscale massage" but it's not too hard to find. Kaye makes it very easy to ask for instructions before you come over, so if you have any questions let her know! I think they do this as a side business? Not sure. I did a couple massage, thanks to a Groupon deal. I got Jesse - pretty buff guy. My boyfriend got Kaye. He said Kaye did a pretty good job massaging his back/neck - where he was feeling a lot of pressure. But he also mentioned that he could have used a little more time on the neck to /really/ relieve the stress he felt there. But it was a full body massage, so I understand that she couldn't focus completely on that one area. As for me, I had Jesse and I requested a firm massage. I'm a pretty small girl, but I really want you to knead my muscles so they can feel like they're about to melt off my back. He was firm.. but maybe a little too firm at times? The next day, I felt pretty sort in some areas. My back didn't feel that much more relieved after I left... just a little bit? Don't get me wrong. They are both very nice but I'm not sure I got what I wanted out of that Groupon deal. read more

Wow. Scheduled a deep tissue with Jesse, and it was great. Will recommend to friends.

The business owner Kaye was very nice, the spa was a great space and was very clean. However I was counting the minutes for my 90 minute massage to be over. I asked for medium pressure on my back, neck and shoulders and all she could manage was very light. Possibly b/c it was a groupon and she had to do many massages in one day. If I had had the courage to stop the massage and get off the table I would have but I didn't. This was my first experience where a 90 minute massage felt like 3 hours and none of them were good. Hopefully she will get better with time but I will not be back to find out. read more

My girlfriend and I went for the couples massage and it was AWESOME! I contacted Kaye via email and she worked with me to get an appointment that worked for me. There is a shared parking lot between local businesses and street parking is also available. We went at night so parking was no trouble at all. Kaye greeted us the in the front room. Complimentary tea and water are available as well as a bathroom. What followed inside the room was an experience. The dim lighting, warm blanket, soothing music really sets the tone even before the massage begins. I had Jesse and I asked for 6 out of 10 (1 being very light and 10 being very forceful) massage and he nailed it. I have some knots in my back and he was able to work those away. The whole massage was awesome. I recommend the 90 minute one even if just once because it really is worth it. After being done with the massage expect to be somewhat oily / sweaty so dress casually. Admittedly this was only my second professional massage, I can't really see other places beating the service and price of Kaye and Jesse. read more

Jesse and Kaye are just the most generous and delightful people. Not having been there before, Jesse found all my stress points and made sure to focus on those specific areas. I applaud his skill and talent. My knots were unnoticeable for weeks! I also really appreciate the fact that Kaye took the time to cater to my crazy work schedule and find a perfect slot for me to go see them. Jesse and Kaye go out of their way to deliver the best and most personal service, and for this, I think they are truly the best massage entity in Santa Barbara. read more

I bought a Groupon for this place and was pleasantly surprised by their service! I got a massage from Kaye for 75-minutes and she did a really good job focusing on the areas I noted needed attention. I'm a runner and have plantar fasciitis...bascially, really bad arch pain. She did a lot of work on my feet and lower calves which felt great! In the past, I've had massage therapists who talked and talked the whole time and it completely ruined the whole thing! Kaye kept the atmosphere very quiet with some relaxing music and only asked "You doing okay?" every 15 minutes or so. I was really able to relax and not have to worry about carrying on a conversation. The spa itself is really cute and quaint. It was also quiet, smelled really good, clean bathroom, etc. I highly recommend checking this place out. They've got deals on Yelp, Groupon, and a discount for your 2nd visit! read more

Jesse and Kaye have a great space, excellent prices and are very accommodating. I've been to see them twice - once solo and once for a couples massage. Both times, Jesse gave an intuitive, relaxing massage. He gets out all the knots and listens to your feedback. We will definitely be back. read more

Used a Groupon for my first visit and had a very nice relaxing massage. Kaye offered the same discount for a return visit, which I used last weekend and again had a really nice massage. Very easy going and at a great price. I'll be back! read more

Great massages!!! Professional and very friendly. Felt my stress melt away with every stroke. Thank you

Found this place through Living Social. They were very accommodating and were able to book my sister and I a massage for 2 days in advance. We were both in the same room for the massage which was about 75 minutes and felt amazing. read more

Wow, what a great first experience! My boyfriend and I did the couples massage through Groupon and we both were so impressed and left feeling AMAZING! Kaye worked on my partner and she acted accordingly when he asked her for more pressure or to focus on one area. Jesse worked on me and he found knots in places I did not even know I was feeling tension in. Kaye and Jesse were both very knowledgeable and explained afterwards where my greatest tensions were and the importance of drinking plenty of water directly after the massage and into the next day. Thank you both! We will definitely be back and HIGHLY recommenced this treatment to anyone. read more

Jesse has the hands of an angel. My massage was an hour long slice of heaven. I could make this a regular habit for sure

Jesse and Kay are fantastic and I would and do happily recommend them to anyone looking for a massage. My boyfriend and I have gotten a few couples' massages from them. I've always gotten Jesse to massage me and wow, I repeat, wow. It's phenomenal! There are times where it feels like he could be a magical mutant with five pairs of hands and I have to try my hardest to not drool on the floor from being so relaxed and hope no one gets hurt from slipping in it. He has a firm hand (or 10? which I prefer) but checks in from time to time to make sure the pressure is comfortable for me. If you have any preferences of where to focus or where to avoid, they always take that into account to ensure you have the best experience possible. The two of them have their routine down pat as they move perfectly in sync with one another. I appreciate that they don't really speak during the massage so you can completely zone out for an hour or more. Sweet, comfortable silence! They are both super sweet people and have always made me feel completely at ease. The spa is nice and clean with a comfortable ambiance. I was pleased to learn they also do house-calls for a small travel fee. If only I could get 10 massages a day, everyday, forever....sigh....Once can dream right? They will be the ones I call for every massage I do get. read more

As good as ever. Jesse gave me 90 minutes deep tissue. Body thrashed from walkup , subways and dance class in NYC. Also the iphone is killing my right hand and it was a great massage. Having another just 2 weeks later. Gorgeous space. Never had a massage in a former architect's office. Just great. read more

Really loved em. I called a few places for an in hotel massage. They were the most responsive, helpful, and to top it off, the most reasonably priced. Worked with Jesse for 2 back to back massages and he was just great. He really gave his 100% and you could tell he really cared to take out all of our knots. Will be using them again. Recommend! read more

Jesse and Kaye gave my husband and I a couple's massage! They were very accommodating when we asked for an early time slot since we were headed out of town that day. They were both very professional and created a relaxing environment for us! I'm 6 months pregnant. I've been having pretty significant low back pain and sciatic nerve pain. Kaye focused heavily on this. My husband and I both walked away very relaxed and with much less tension in our pain spots! read more

Kaye and Jesse are our go to people for massages! They are both so sweet, accommodating, approachable and great at their jobs. My husband and I go in for couples massages and cannot say enough great things about them. Thank you both! read more

Peaceful and professional atmosphere. I appreciated the strong pressure as that is what is needed for an accurately healing deep tissue massage. He also communicated perfectly about movements and draping. I felt very relaxed and calm. Left feeling so much better. Thank you! read more

This place is really great! Jesse was excellent, super relaxing strong and calming massage that I needed so badly for my aching shoulders and lower back. He was very professional, polite and knowledgeable of his trade. I was very happy and contented with the session, and already bought the 10 package special for the deep tissue massage. I can't wait for my next appointment, really felt relieved of my body pains and ache! I highly recommend Kaye and Jesse, I am so grateful to have found you guys, congratulations on a job well done!!! read more

Jesse is a GEM! I was a massage therapist-so naturally I'm extremely particular and I've had a very hard time finding a great massage therapist!! Jesse is skilled and intuitive! Im telling all my friends to book him ASAP ! I highly recommend scheduling a 90 min massage or better yet- buy a package! The location is difficult to find your first visit-however the inside is very relaxing, pleasant and clean. Best to give yourself 15 extra min to find this new location-so that you're not stressed and rushed. The driveway has a different address on it and the suite is UPSTAIRS! The 100's are upstairs and the 200's are downstairs?! Well worth a tiny bit of scouting for the address and sweet! read more

My boyfriend and I recently had a couples massage there and both of the owners were incredibly friendly and very professional. We LOVED our massages and would definitely go again! read more

We for the couples massage offer on Groupon and loved our experience. The spa is small, cozy, well decorated and inviting. The massage room was well heated considering how freezing it was today. There were not any overpowering spa scents lurking around to flare anyone who, like me, has allergies so this was a plus. In the waiting room is a magnetic wall with many shades of foundation, blush, and shadows as well as sterile make up brushes for those who need to reapply afterwards, I thought this subtle quirk was awesome as well as a great idea! I had Kaye and my boyfriend had Jesse both were pleasant and friendly. My massage with Kaye was great she paid attention to the amount of pressure I preferred and did this weird/awesome technique on my arms that was the best thing ever. Jesse did a great job deeply massaging my boyfriend's giant knots in his shoulders. Neither really spoke a whole lot during the session except to the occasional every 15min "how are you doing?" Which was nice because it kept the session very calm and serene. I would I highly reccommend this place, it's well priced and great service as well as atmosphere. Not your typical big expensive overpriced spa that you waste your money on Upscale Massage was great! read more

Purchased a massage from Groupon and made an appointment with Jesse based on a previous Yelp reviewer who mentioned that he can apply heavy pressure. I was not disappointed! I like heavy, heavy pressure and he was able to deliver for the entire hour (as opposed to other massage therapists I've gone to who start off great, but slowly wane). He also constantly checked in with me to make sure the pressure was still ok. The facility is nice, inviting and clean, staff is friendly and nice to look at ;-) Would definitely recommend! read more

My husband and I have enjoyed two couples massages from Kaye and Jesse. They did an AMAZING job! The environment is comfortable and quiet. Kaye and Jesse tailor your massage to your specific needs - for example, my husband needed some extra attention paid to his back, and Kaye went of her way to spend extra time there. I would recommend Upscale massage to anyone, and we will be back for sure. read more

I have known Kaye and Jessie for many years now and have had the privilege of being some of their very first clients before and after they finished their certification process. I have had a lot more experience with Kaye but I have heard that Jesse is also very good. Kaye is excellent at listening to each client and customizing her approach to your needs. Their place of business is nice and professional and very easy to get comfortable. With all this said you cannot beat their price. For this style of massage and level of professionalism you would easily pay double in this area. read more

I had a massage this morning with Jesse, using a Living Social deal. I was a little nervous to have a male massage therapist, but Jesse is a really kind, gentle person (but with powerful hands!). I relaxed immediately and it was the best massage of my life! Some massage therapists focus very specifically on certain body parts and the rest of your body feels kind of disconnected - Jesse did the opposite. Somehow, he seemed to always be paying attention to my whole body. It made me feel like I was in some kind of wonderful energy cocoon, as strange as that sounds! Their prices are some of the cheapest in town, which is incredible to me. What a great experience - I'll definitely be back! read more

Got massages here last May and they were great! Such friendly service! Will definitely go back next time we're in SB!
