I made an appointment with a request for a woman masseuse. Mind you this was after my good friend suddenly died, my grandpa died and my childhood animal died with a week of my 21st birthday immediately leading up into 4 midterms at UCSB. I decided to treat myself to a massage as I needed groceries from Trader Joe's. A male checked me in, he looked and acted as if he owned the establishment. He lead me to the room and gave me the space to undress (mind you with any massage to how you are comfortable) which to me meant a sports bra and underwear, and covered myself face down with a towel covering myself. To my surprise he walked in to give me my massage. Like someone else who reviewed, I was a naive non confrontational young woman who just went through a highly traumatic few weeks. God forbid I trust a masseuse to do their job appropriately and not take advantage of me even though I had a bad feeling about it. The massage started normal at first and then he asked me to remove my bra as it was "getting in the way" then I noticed soemthing firm pressing against me. Yes. That's exactly what you think. And he was massaging my shoulders going way too close to the breast region, presumably looking at my behind, I felt a for lack of better words half chub rubbing against my head. I truely didn't know what to do. I've been assaulted before and in therapy for it and my automatic response is freeze unfortunately. He tried to extend the massage and I said no and quickly dressed, paid, left no tip, and immediately called bbb which was closed. Sent an email or a tip or whatever you can do (it was 4 years ago give me a break with the details) and left a lengthy yelp review which apparently has been taken down! I don't know how that is acceptable to take down a review of this nature. People should be aware and based off what I read this isn't the first instant of inappropriate behavior. I am so appalled looking back now and need to repost. This is insane behavior and so inappropriate of a 50 something year old to a barely legal young woman. Shame of this establishment and shame on yelp.

I felt like he was very much in tune to where I needed the most attention. I occasionally go to the fancy spas in SB but I think the real talented masseurs work here! Came in for a 1hr deep tissue couples massage to celebrate my birthday and left feeling really…read moredisappointed which sucks because we booked here due to the rave reviews. My boyfriend asked for medium pressure, I asked for strong. I had to ask 2 more times during the massage for the woman to go stronger and I also let her know the muscles in my neck and shoulders were very tight and needed more pressure. Despite this, she didn't adjust pressure at all until the last 5 minutes of the massage and did not do any deep tissue work on my neck or shoulders. Because she only did deep tissue on two or three random parts of my body for maybe less than 10 minutes total of the whole massage, I now have something pinched in my lower back that I did not come in with. My boyfriend felt his massage was extremely light except for when his back got walked on, which resulted in him also leaving with back pain because of how rushed she was with her approach. There was also another employee yelling during the beginning of our massage as well and the music kept turning off so one of the ladies had to go out several times to tell them to stop and to turn the music back on. Overall it was a huge bummer, especially for the price of $285. It felt like we paid a lot of money to leave feeling worse than we walked in. We won't be coming back.
